No casualties reported in the most recent attack. IDF says it attacked Hamas targets in northern Gaza, including an underground command and control center belonging to the terrorist group's military wing.

For the fourth consecutive night, Palestinian terrorists fired a rocket from the Gaza Strip into Israel on Saturday, the IDF said.

There were no reports of casualties in the attack and no Palestinian group immediately claimed responsibility.

The IDF responded early Sunday as warplanes and helicopters attacked Hamas targets in northern Gaza, including an underground command and control center belonging to the terrorist group's military wing.

Earlier on Saturday, incendiary balloons launched from the coastal enclave landed in the backyard of a house in the Merhavim Regional Council where a birthday party was taking place.

Throughout the day, additional suspicious balloons were spotted in areas adjacent to the Gaza border, with one reaching as far as Ashkelon Beach.

Overnight Friday, the Israeli Air Force struck Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in response to rocket and mortar shell fire on Israeli communities near the border earlier Friday.

"A short time ago IDF warplanes and aircraft attacked several additional terror targets belonging to the Hamas terror organization in the northern Gaza Strip. Among the targets that were attacked were warehouses for the storage of weapons, and underground infrastructure," the IDF said in a statement.

"We hold Hamas responsible and will continue operating against any attempt to harm Israeli civilians," the IDF said.

A defense official said that the strike "will hamper Hamas’s ability to further build up its capabilities."

Overnight Thursday, Israeli aircraft struck the Gaza Strip just hours after three rockets were fired at Israeli communities near the border.

The IDF said two of the rockets were intercepted by air defenses while the third likely having landed in an open field. No injuries or damage to property have been reported.

Palestinian media reported large explosions near Khan Younis and Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip as a result of the IDF's strikes.
