The Army Radio report follows IDF confirmations of several strikes over the weekend and in previous weeks, which killed multiple Gaza terrorists from different terror groups.

All Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip are set to require the approval of IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Army Radio reported on Tuesday, citing security sources.

According to the report, the requirement comes as the IDF tightens its overall attack policies, which until now required only the approval of a division commander.

Army Radio noted that the recent reduction of IDF attacks in Gaza is a direct result of the policy changes, in addition to the general reduction in targets since they began following the October 7 massacre. 

The report referenced the lack of any IDF strikes in Gaza over the past 48 hours, with the exception of a single attack early on Monday.

Army Radio reached out to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit for comment, which said that "the escalation of the policy of attacks in Gaza is a decision of the political echelon."

IDF kills multiple Gaza terrorists in recent strikes

The Army Radio report follows IDF confirmations of several strikes over the weekend and in previous weeks, which killed multiple Gaza terrorists from different terror groups.

One of the strikes, conducted over the weekend in Gaza's Deir al-Balah area, killed a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) Central Gaza Brigade commander, Mahmoud Fatair, the IDF confirmed on Monday, noting his participation in the October 7 attacks, as well as his involvement in holding Rom Braslavski hostage.

Also on Monday, the IDF confirmed killing Jaish al-Islam (Army of Islam) terrorist Alaa Imad Khamis Tarams in Gaza City last week.

In the same announcement, the IDF said it killed a Hamas Jabalya Battalion commander, Ahmad Khudar, the week prior.

On Sunday, the IDF announced it killed Hamas Nukhba commander Salem Jamal Abd al-Rahman Abu Labad, who infiltrated Israel on October 7, 2023, in southern Gaza on Saturday.

The IDF further confirmed the killing of a Hamas Maghazi Battalion commander, Muhammad Abd al-Nasser Muhammad Khatib, on Friday.
