Counterterrorism police also questioned a 26-year-old British national.
A British-Iranian national was arrested Thursday on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts in connection with an incident this past weekend near a U.S. air base in the United Kingdom.
The suspect, an unnamed 27-year-old male, was arrested in central London in connection with the incident Sunday morning outside the base, RAF Fairford, in Gloucestershire, in which police arrested five men who had been traveling nearby in white vans, according to The New York Times.
They were released on bail a day later after the authorities did not discover explosives in the vans.
The base has been used by United States bombers in the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.
Police also said they searched two areas near where the arrest was made Thursday,
