As the international community welcomes the formation of a so-called “revitalized PA” under Fatah, the PA and Fatah continue to glorify terrorism.
- Fatah spokesman: “In recent years, most of the Martyrs (i.e., dead terrorists) were from the Palestinian [PA] Security [Forces] or from Fatah, and this has significance and meaning that everyone sees.”
- Official PA news agency: “There will be no peace and no stability without the release of our brave prisoners, foremost among them our heroic leaders such as leader prisoner Marwan Barghouti (i.e., convicted for murder of 5)”
As the international community welcomes the formation of a so-called “revitalized PA” under Fatah, the PA and Fatah continue to glorify terrorism. They take pride that the highest number of terrorist “Martyrs" are from the PA Security Forces and Fatah. They refer to terrorist mass murderers like Marwan Barghouti, who is the former head of terror organizations Tanzim and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, as “brave prisoners” and “heroic leaders.”
A Fatah spokesman declared proudly:
“In recent years, most of the Martyrs (i.e., dead terrorists) were from the Palestinian [PA] Security [Forces] or from Fatah, and this has significance and meaning that everyone sees. The West Bank, in other words the PA, as you see is not in a state of repose, calm, submission, or waiting.”

The Fatah spokesman in this statement is literally bragging that there is no peace in the West Bank, with “no repose, calm, submission or waiting.”
In addition, WAFA, the official PA news agency, wrote in praise of its prisoners, specifically Marwan Barghouti, who was convicted for the murder of five people but was responsible for many more as head of Fatah’s terror wings:
“Fatah noted that heroic prisoner Marwan Barghouti is a Palestinian national leader with a clear imprint on the Palestinian people’s path of national struggle, and that the issue of releasing all our prisoners and heroes and emptying the occupation’s (i.e., Israeli) prisons is an issue that stands at the top of the agenda of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas, who has always emphasized that there will be no peace and no stability without the release of our brave prisoners, foremost among them our heroic leaders such as leader prisoner Marwan Barghouti.”

Palestinian Media Watch has been reporting about terrorists who also function as uniformed members of the Palestinian Security Forces for quite some time. This week, the PA's Palestinian Prisoners Club itself announced that yet another Palestinian terrorist, Muhammad Al-Saadi—who perpetrated a shooting attack on a bus and injured three on March 28, 2024—was a member “of the [PA] National Security Forces, in his 20s, and lives in the center of Jenin.” [PA TV, March 31, 2024]
Corroborating that is also a post on the Telegram channel “Love of the Battalions” on April 1, 2024 featuring Al-Saadi in the uniform of the Palestinian Security Forces and saying that he was the one arrested for the attack.
In conclusion, both these admissions by Palestinian media outlets themselves and the statements in support of terrorism by PA and Fatah officials follow PMW’s exposé about the PA’s new women’s affairs minister and new religious affairs minister both being terror supporters as well. This then begs the question: Is a PA whose leaders take pride in being the organization with the most terrorist Martyrs really a PA that is truly revitalized?
