US, South Korea threaten to 'end' Kim regime if North Korea uses nuclear weapon - Anders Hagstrom

by Anders Hagstrom

North Korea launched an unprecedented 20 missiles in a single day on Wednesday

The U.S. and South Korea issued a joint warning to North Korea on Thursday, warning that any use of nuclear weapons would result in the end of Kim Jong Un's regime.

North Korea fired an unprecedented 20 missiles in a single day on Wednesday amid extensive joint air force exercises between the U.S. and South Korea. Kim's regime has made veiled threats about nuclear weapons in recent days as well.

"Any nuclear attack against the United States or its Allies and partners, including the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, is unacceptable and will result in the end of the Kim regime," Austin said in a joint press conference with South Korean Defense Minister Jong-Sup Lee.

The U.S. and South Korean militaries announced an extension to a joint air force exercise earlier on Thursday. The move came in response to North Korea an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and two short-range missiles after Wednesday's barrage.

NORTH KOREA LAUNCHES BALLISTIC MISSILE TOWARD ITS EASTERN WATERS, SOUTH KOREA SAYS

South Korean media reported that officials believe the North's ICBM failed in flight but did not elaborate. Meanwhile, North Korea's two short-range ballistic missiles fell into the sea to its east. Japan initially sounded alarms after tracking suggested the ICBM would fly over the island nation, but officials later said they lost track of it mid-flight, according to Reuters.

North Korea has grown increasingly aggressive since the U.S. and South Korea began joint military exercises in September. The country also flew 12 warplanes near the South Korean border in early October. The sortie included eight fighter jets and four bombers. South Korea responded with a flight of 30 warplanes, but the two groups did not engage.

The U.S. and South Korea's joint air force exercise, Operation Vigilant Storm, was scheduled to end Friday but will now extend into the weekend following North Korea's launches.

The exercise sees allied fighter jets and bombers conducting simulated attacks across South Korea 24 hours a day.

South Korea had a failed missile launch of its own in October. The malfunction came as the U.S., South Korea and Japan were seeking to send a message to the North Korean regime after it sent its own ballistic missile flying over the island of Japan. U.S. military officials clarified that the warhead on South Korea's missile did not explode, but the propellant caused a large blast and flames.

No injuries were reported from the incident, civilian or otherwise, and South Korean officials say no buildings were damaged.

This is a developing story. Check back soon for updates.

Top House Republicans blister Homeland chief Mayorkas over censorship, personal honesty - John Solomon

by John Solomon

New letter demands documents on censorship partnership with private group, questions truthfulness of DHS secretary's public statements on border patrol agents.

In a blistering oversight letter, 16 prominent House Republicans are accusing the Homeland Security Department of using a private group to "silence narratives" during elections and directly challenging the honesty of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas concerning allegations he made against border patrol agents.

The letter sent Wednesday night to Mayorkas was organized by Rep. James Comer, the likely chairman of the House Oversight Committee if the GOP wins control of Congress in next week's midterms. It includes signatures from many other top Republicans on oversight committees, including  Reps. Jim Jordan of House Judiciary and Virginia Foxx, the ranking Republican on the House Education and Labor Committee.

"While the Administration publicly paused the creation of its Disinformation Governance Board, DHS continues to suppress dissenting viewpoints," the lawmakers wrote, citing a series of Just the News articles last month that highlighted how Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) collaborated with and endorsed the censorship activities of a private consortium called the Election Integrity Partnership.

Just the News reported the collaboration led to numerous requests to social media companies to censor, throttle or label as disinformation content involving 20 news sites, two dozen conservative influencers and nearly 22 million tweets during the 2020 election.  The partnership recently announced it is back in action in 2022 and that some of its members got grants from the Biden administration.

Comer told Just the News that Republicans will make the censorship investigation a top priority, if they are in charge of the House next year.

“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has a responsibility to protect the American people, not deliberately target and discredit Americans opposed to the Biden Administration’s radical agenda,” he said. “Any operation by the Department to stifle Americans’ free speech is unacceptable, an abuse of taxpayer dollars, and warrants an immediate congressional investigation.”

The lawmakers wrote that "the Biden Administration continues to suppress free speech and discredit legitimate criticism as mis-, dis-, or mal- information" and that the collaboration with the Election Integrity Partnership appeared aimed at using "third parties to silence narratives that contradict the Administration's preferred perspectives on issues important to the national discourse."

You can read the full letter here:

The letter noted, as the Just the News stories did, that the collaboration allowed some federal agencies and the Democrat Party to file tickets seeking the private group's help censoring content, allowed federal officials to monitor the tickets and included a Harvard University center cofounded by Hillary Clinton's former campaign manager Robby Mook.

"Tickets uploaded into the computer system by users are viewable by federal employees and are resolved by actions taken by the tech company on whose platform the offending post appears," the letter noted. "Tickets were frequently resolved by taking one of several actions: 1) banning the user from posting his or her lawful speech or de-platforming the individual entirely, 2) algorithmically restricting the reach of the speech on the platform or 3) adding other information such as a warning label to the post alerting users to the post's disfavored status."

"The federal government should not be censoring free speech," the letter added.

The lawmakers said they were concerned by the legal interpretation that CISA has used to justify its participation with the EIP's censorship activities. "CISA is framing any dissenting opinion disseminated online as a cyber threat to critical infrastructure," they noted.

The lawmakers also made their objections personal, saying Mayorkas' agency was "poorly positioned to moderate speech on social media" given recent revelations about the honesty of the secretary's own comments about the conduct of horse-mounted border patrol agents falsely accused of whipping illegal migrants in a photo from 2021.

"You deliberately spread disinformation in a White House press conference last year surrounding false allegations that your Border Patrol Agents were whipping Haitian migrants at the border in Del Rio, Texas," the lawmakers alleged.

"At that press conference, you stated that 'we — our entire nation — saw horrifying images' that 'painfully conjured up the worst elements of our nation's ongoing battle against systemic racism,'" the letter added. "E-mails now reveal that you were made aware — hours before these comments — that the photographer who captured the images you were referring to told news outlets that he and his colleagues never saw agents whipping anyone.

"Armed with the truth, you still perpetuated a false narrative that agents were whipping migrants at the border."

The letter demands the department turn over to the Republican lawmakers "all documents and communications referring or relating to the inception and operation of the Election Integrity Partnership or any other online content monitoring program hosted by or in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security," including communications with partners and any tickets filed into the system.

With Democrats currently in control of the House, the letter may not generate an immediate response from the department. But it puts the agency on notice that if Republicans take control of the House in January they will be investigating the censorship activities and will have the power to compel the evidence sought in the letter, congressional aides told Just the News.

In addition to Comer, Jordan and Foxx, other signatories of the letter included: Reps. Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin, Michael Cloud of Texas, Bob Gibbs of Ohio, Clay Higgins of Louisiana, Ralph Norman of South Carolina, Pete Sessions of Texas, Fred Keller of Pennsylvania, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Andrew Clyde of Georgia, Scott Franklin of Florida, Byron Donalds of Florida, Pat Fallon of Texas, and Mike Flood of Nebraska.

Germany Selling Critical Infrastructure to China - Judith Bergman

Germany's government has decided to let China's state-owned COSCO Shipping Ports, which has links to the People's Liberation Army, buy a stake in the Port of Hamburg -- despite opposition from all six ministries that have been involved in reviewing the deal and have rejected it because the deal concerns critical infrastructure. Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz has apparently learned nothing from Germany's fatal mistake of becoming dependent on Russian gas.

On October 26, Germany's government decided to let the Chinese state-owned enterprise COSCO Shipping Ports, which has links to China's People's Liberation Army, buy a stake in the Port of Hamburg. COSCO is the world's third-largest container carrier measured by capacity, and the fifth-largest port terminal operator in terms of the amount of cargo and vessels that it handles, according to German think-tank Merics. The Port of Hamburg is Germany's largest port and the second-largest port in Europe, making it part of Europe's most critical infrastructure.

The deal will let COSCO have a 24.9% stake in the port and is a compromise following a dispute within the government between Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz and six of his government ministers. The original plan was to give COSCO a 35% stake in the port, in addition to taking over shares in the port operator Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHLA).

Scholz wanted to forge ahead despite opposition to the deal from all six ministries that have been involved in reviewing the deal and have rejected it because the deal concerns critical infrastructure. Instead, Scholz was looking for a "compromise" so the deal could still go ahead, which Scholz has now managed to accomplish.

The original deal was made back in September 2021, but subject to regulatory approval. Prior to the deal, the European Commission reportedly warned Germany not to approve COSCO taking the 35% stake in Hamburg's port, saying that sensitive information could reach China if it did.

"We have learned that dependencies from countries which then might use their own interests in order to blackmail us are no longer just an abstract phenomenon," German Economy Minister Robert Habeck, who opposed the deal, said. "We shouldn't repeat these mistakes."

Germany's Foreign Ministry had also reportedly warned that an investment by COSCO "disproportionately expands China's strategic influence on German and European transport infrastructure as well as Germany's dependence on China... considerable risks... arise when elements of European transport infrastructure are influenced and controlled by China — while China itself does not allow Germany to participate in Chinese ports. In this respect, the acquisition of the container terminal does not only have an economic, but especially a geopolitical aspect."

The Foreign Ministry clearly fears that in a time of crisis between the countries, China's investment in the port would allow it "to possibly instrumentalize part of Germany's – and therefore Europe's – critical infrastructure."

Marcel Fratzscher, the head of the German Institute for Economic Research denounced the compromise:

"The German government is repeating the mistake of many previous federal governments by prioritizing short-term economic interests over long-term prosperity and prosperity and stability."

According to Politico:

"The acquisition is part of a broader strategic gambit by Beijing to gain control over infrastructure critical to its globe-spanning Belt and Road trade initiative, a network of transport connections intended to link China's factories with rich Western markets.

"Cosco already owns stakes in Europe's two largest ports at Rotterdam and Antwerp, while it also controls the port of Piraeus in Athens and is behind a scheme to expand an inland rail terminal at Duisburg where the Ruhr and the Rhine rivers meet and which is a focal point for overland freight arriving from China's industrial hubs."

In China, COSCO is designated as one of 53 "important backbone state-owned enterprises," according to a February 2021 report by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. The report states:

"COSCO's status as an important backbone SOE [state-owned enterprise] means that it's uniquely beholden to the CCP in a way that other SOEs aren't... COSCO's organisational structure includes paramilitary capabilities that can be mobilised by the Chinese regime to defeat threats to the CCP's interests. One such capability is the company's in-house militia..."

Furthermore, COSCO has been described as the People Liberation Army Navy's (PLAN's) "leading supplier, providing Beijing with built-in shore-based support for the PLAN through a commercial enterprise structured to align with Chinese naval strategy, to an extent that leads some naval analysts to refer to COSCO as the fifth arm of the PLAN."

Several members of Germany's government coalition, which consists of the Green Party, the Free Democrat Party (FDP), and Scholz's Social Democrat Party (SPD) had denounced the proposed deal with COSCO.

Green Party Co-Chair Ricarda Lang said that Germany "should learn from mistakes and not create new dependencies" and that she has "no understanding" of why Scholz would move ahead with the deal when relevant government ministries have criticized it.

"The Chinese Communist Party must not have access to our country's critical infrastructure," FDP General Secretary Bijan Djir-Sarai said. "That would be mistake and a risk."

The opposition also criticized the deal.

"Against the advice of his ministers, the chancellor apparently wants to increase dependence on China," Jens Spahn of the center-right Christian Democratic Union party said. "This sell-out of German infrastructure would be a mistake. German ports do not belong in Chinese hands, especially since Europeans can't take a stake in ports in China."

China declared as its ambition in 2012 that it wishes to become a global "maritime power" and China's investments in and ownership of ports worldwide should be seen as part of achieving this ambition by expanding its global maritime reach. As of July 2020, Chinese firms reportedly "(partly) owned or operated some ninety-five ports across the globe."

Out of the 95 ports, 22 are in Europe, 20 in the Middle East and North Africa, 18 in the Americas, 18 in South and Southeast Asia, and nine in sub-Saharan Africa. Just three Chinese companies, among them COSCO Shipping Ports, account for the operations of 81% of those ports.

According to an April 2022 report from Clingendael, a Dutch think-tank:

"Chinese state-owned companies such as COSCO and China Merchants, as well the Hong Kong based private firm Hutchison, have invested in most of Europe's largest ports."

In Greece, COSCO has completely taken over Piraeus, Greece's largest port.

"In many instances these investments are in container terminals. The exception is Piraeus, Greece's largest port. In this case, COSCO took a majority stake not only in a container terminal, but also in the port authority that operates the whole port, including activities such as cruise and ferry shipping."

China's investments in various European ports can also be used to play the ports against each other. Hans-Jörg Heims, a spokesman for HHLA, which COSCO is supposed to take shares in according to the deal, had argued that unless the deal was allowed to go through, Hamburg would be disadvantaged compared to the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, competitors with the port of Hamburg that are already partly owned by COSCO.

"Our competitors Rotterdam and Antwerp will be very pleased if this deal falls through," Heims told Politico.

China's port investments create obvious leverage for the country and increase international dependence on China. Scholz, regardless of the hard lessons that Germany has had to learn with regard to German dependence on Russian gas, has a state visit to China coming up in early November with a German business delegation; letting the COSCO deal fall through would not look good when trying to attract lucrative business deals. China is an key trading partner for Germany: In 2021, it was Germany's top trading partner for the sixth consecutive year.

Some EU leaders, who say that Scholz should not be making separate deals with China and that the EU should speak with a "single voice" to China, have criticized Scholz's upcoming trip.

"It is in their interest that we are divided. It's in our interest that we are united," Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said. Latvia's Prime Minister said the EU must take a "united approach to China."

Even French President Emmanuel Macron appeared to be criticizing Scholz, who will be the first Western leader to visit China since the start of the Covid pandemic.

"We have made strategic errors in the past with the sale of infrastructures to China," Macron said. "We've been naive because we considered that there was a public-finance issue to fix -- and that Europe was an open supermarket." The EU, Macron concluded, needs to establish a framework on what it considers "sensitive points."

Democrats switching voter registrations to GOP in Pennsylvania - The Center Square Staff

by The Center Square Staff

Democrats have gained about 21,000 former Republican voters, while the Republicans have gained about 57,000 former Democrats.

Pennsylvania's registered voter numbers are up and Democrats hold an advantage, but Republicans are gaining former Democrats.

Early voting is underway and Election Day is Tuesday.

As of Monday, the commonwealth had 8.87 million registered voters, according to the Department of State. Slightly more than 4 million voters registered as Democrats, almost 3.5 million voters are Republican, and 954,000 voters are independent. Another 374,000 voters are registered with a third party.

While the registered numbers give Democrats a significant lead, not all registered voters will vote in the election, and Republicans have made some gains at the expense of Democratic registrations.

The data show that while Democrats have gained about 21,000 former Republican voters and almost 27,000 other voters, the Republicans have gained about 57,000 former Democratic voters and almost 30,000 other voters in 2022.

That bodes well for the Grand Old Party, continuing a long-running trend.

Last year, about 30,000 Republicans switched to Democrat and 14,000 other voters, compared to 37,000 Democrats switching to the Republicans along with 18,000 other voters. Republicans have gained more Democratic voters than Democrats have gained Republicans since 2008, according to the oldest data available.

Registered numbers may inflate how many voters are engaged with the electoral process. The Department of State also noted that Democrats have 3.6 million active voters and about 400,000 inactive voters, while Republicans have 3.25 million active voters and about 240,000 inactive voters, a smaller gap than registered numbers alone.

Though turning out the party base to vote will matter to decide whether Democratic Attorney General Josh Shapiro or Republican Doug Mastriano becomes governor, and whether Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman or Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz becomes U.S. Senator, split-ticket voting and independent voters can sway the outcome. If split-ticket voters emerge, polls suggest Shapiro and Oz benefit.

Statewide races in Pennsylvania remain competitive and neither party dominates across the commonwealth, compared to neighboring states like perennial tossup Ohio, which has become Republican dominated. If trends continue, Republicans could see better odds.

Indoctrinating School Children to Hate Israel and Jews - Richard L. Cravatts

by Richard L. Cravatts

Getting them while they’re young.

Pedophiles Are Proliferating in Our Schools

The cognitive war against Israel, a campaign on college campuses for well over a decade, has helped in positioning the Jewish state as an alleged racist, colonial oppressor of an innocent indigenous people, an illegal regime that exists on land wrongly confiscated from Palestinians.

Zionism, it is alleged, is a corrosive political ideology that inspires both the creation of an apartheid nation and the undiminished lust for more Palestinian land for a Greater Israel.

In this narrative, the Palestinians are cast as perennial victims whose human and civil rights are deprived for them due to white supremacy, racism, and the predations of an Israeli military that brutally enforces this unjust, illegal state of affairs.

Activists, both on and off campus, have been successful in promoting this flawed and factually inaccurate narrative, but the perceived injustices being done to the ever-aggrieved Palestinians resonates with young liberal minds who have an understandable affinity for the underdog and victim—especially if that bias and hatred are characterized by racism and oppression—exactly how Israel is now mistakenly perceived by many of its ideological foes.

Now, the same slanders, lies, and contortions of history and facts about the Israeli/Palestinian debate are being introduced to younger audiences with impressionable minds: school children.

A recent example of this troubling trend was revealed when critics became aware that the Newark, New Jersey school board had included an anti-Israel book on its mandatory reading list. The book, A Little Piece of Ground by Elizabeth Laird, found its way into the sixth-grade English curriculum for the 2022-23 school year, and, according to the description on Amazon, “explores the human cost of the occupation of Palestinian lands through the eyes of a young boy.”

Of course, the same premise that campus activists chant about when they scream, “Free, free Palestine,” the factually false assertion that the land allegedly occupied by Israel is or ever was Palestinian land, is taken as truth, so Israel is already guilty in this narrative of having stolen others’ land.

Moreover, the book depicts Israelis as a malign, brutal, militaristic force that constrains the life of the young protagonist of this book in a capricious and cruel way for which there is, of course, no context or justification of why Israel had to occupy the land in the first place or maintain barriers and checkpoints to deter terrorism.

Karim, the 12 year-old through whose eyes the book unfolds, complains that his father is “humiliated” by having to go through Israeli checkpoints, but young readers would have no way of knowing that the reason such checkpoints exist is not because the IDF is sadistic and wishes to inflict pain on the Palestinians, but because Israeli citizens have seen decades during which psychopathic terrorists tried to kill them with knives, suicide vests, rockets, mortars, and even vehicles in discos, pizza parlors, cafes, and even in their homes as they slept.

Israelis are not even described in the book in ways that would make them human. They are embodied in their military machinery, heartless, sadistic, and deadly. “The Israeli tank that had been squatting at the crossroads just below the apartment block for days now had moved a few metres [sic] closer,” the reader is told. “He could imagine the great armoured [sic] machines lying down there, like a row of green scaly monsters, crouched waiting to crawl back up the hill and pin the people of Ramallah down in their houses again . . . .”

When Israelis are not depicted as being mere extensions of war machines, they are dehumanized in language which would justify terror against them for their immoral, inhuman behavior. “Human?” Karim says. “You call those settlers human?”

“In their eyes, we’re nothing — inferior, barely human,” Karim’s uncle says. “We’re not bad,” Karim answers. “They are. Look how many Palestinian kids they’ve murdered. We throw stones at them. They shoot bullets at us, to kill.”

Young Palestinian boys do throw rocks at Israeli soldiers and passing cars, it is true. But omitted here is the inconvenient fact, for instance, that, in addition to rock throwing, since Israel disengaged from Gaza in 2005, Hamas terrorists have launched over 25,000 rockets and mortars into southern Israeli towns with the express purpose of murdering Jews, not to mention the random terror attacks against Israeli civilians by individual terrorists with guns, knives, and explosives within Israel proper and in the West Bank.

In justifying the inclusion of this book on a school reading list, a spokesperson for the district commented that the book’s addition to the curriculum was appropriate because it “elevates historically marginalized voices, strengthens and sustains a focus on the instructional core and provides opportunities to learn about perspectives beyond one’s own scope. [emphasis added]” Of course, critical race theory (CRT), which has also been popularized in public schools, elevates historically marginalized voices in the same way, except in the case of CRT it is white people, not Jews, who are the oppressors and people of color, not Arabs, who are the perennial victims of this racist oppression.

In a letter to Newark’s superintendent of schools criticizing the adoption of this book, Morton Klein and Susan Tuchman of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) pointed out that students will form a false and negative perception of Israel and Jews after reading this book. Why? Because, as they pointed out in their letter, the author was “clever, repeatedly sending the false and outrageous message to her young readers that Israelis are heartless and cruel, that their goal is to humiliate Palestinian Arabs and make their lives a misery, and that Jews are stealing other people’s land.”

They pointed to such inflammatory and biased passages as, “[T]he Israelis won’t be happy until they’ve driven us all out and grabbed every inch of Palestine for themselves.”  “Israeli soldiers,” they wrote, are ‘playing with us. They’re the cats and we’re the mice.’  Israelis are described as ‘the enemy,’ as ‘occupiers,’ and as ‘animals.’” “Students will also come away thinking that terrorism and violence against innocent Jews and Israelis are legitimate and even desirable,” they pointed out. “Laird repeatedly refers to terrorists who have harmed and murdered Jews and Israelis as heroes and martyrs.”

Given that this may be the only account sixth graders ever read about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, it is more than likely that students will absorb this malignant picture of Israel, Zionism, and Jews and carry it forward to high school and college.

In Los Angeles, a school system that serves some 664,000 students, a similar troubling process is taking place in which an ethnic studies curriculum also positions Zionism in a negative light; accuses Israel of embodying a white supremacist, racist, colonial regime; and draws parallels between the system of apartheid allegedly inflicted on the Palestinians at the hands of Jews with the apartheid that actually took place in South Africa.

In fact, the perfidious ethnic studies curriculum being proposed for California’s public schools was so outrageous and one-sided against Israel and Jews themselves, that a lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the plaintiffs by the Deborah Project to enjoin those responsible for conceiving of this mendacious, even malicious curriculum.

The case, Concerned Jewish Parents and Teachers of Los Angeles, et al Plaintiffs, v. Liberated Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum Consortium; United Teachers of Los Angeles; et al, denounces the sections of the curriculum related to the Jewish state, claiming that, “It falsely and libelously makes the accusation and teaches and attempts to teach California’s public school teachers and children that the Jewish state commits unspeakable crimes including genocide, ethnic cleansing, land theft, and the imposition of apartheid, all of which accusations are false.”

The progressive activism is suggested in the very name of the primary Defendant, the Liberated Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum Consortium (LESMC). It is a group of radical educators pushing its own narrative instead of facts, which includes, as one of the Complaint’s exhibits revealed, an ideology that involves the language of Marxist radicalism, to “Critique empire and its relationship to white supremacy, racism, patriarchy, and heteropatriarchy” while “Challeng[ing] imperialist/colonial hegemonic beliefs and practices on the ideological, institutional, interpersonal, and internalized levels.”

And the purpose of this liberated curriculum? To transform educators and students into activists for progressive change, to “connect ourselves to past and contemporary resistance movements that struggle for social justice on the global and local levels.” Since when is it appropriate for students to be recruited into a resistance movement by radical teachers?

In the struggle for social justice, Jews and Israel, of course, are cast as oppressors of “people of color,” “brown” Palestinians, so among its other defects, the curriculum, the Complaint contended, “. . . falsely and libelously makes the accusation and teaches and attempts to teach California’s public school teachers and children that the Jewish state commits unspeakable crimes including genocide, ethnic cleansing, land theft, and the imposition of apartheid, all of which accusations are false.”

Defendants nonetheless assert in the LESMC that “the Jews of Israel . . . are ‘white’ and that their presence there is solely a function of the ‘fact’ that they are ‘colonialists.’” As they frequently are on college campuses now, Jews are said to enjoy “white privilege” and therefore, especially if they support Israel, are not considered a victim group worthy of or needing protection. In LESMC’s oppressor/oppressed narrative, Jews are part of the racist oppressor group and, according to the Complaint, “Defendants call these people ‘white’ because in the eyes of the Defendants they are oppressors and they are oppressors only because they are Jews.”

The danger of superimposing activism and radical ideology on a curriculum is that it teaches feelings rather than facts, narratives rather than history. “Defendants are injecting their views into the LAUSD curriculum—views which are, by design, racist—with the intention of driving Zionist ideas out of the public square, and to make it impossible for people committed to Zionism to manifest that commitment publicly,” the Complaint contended. LESMCC’s “ultimate goal is, as they proclaim, to transform all public school students into ‘social justice warriors’ who will espouse, and act on, the political opinions held by the individual Defendants in this case and espoused by all Defendants.”

Typical of other anti-Israel and anti-Semitic activists, the Defendants focus their opprobrium on the Jewish state alone, ignoring human rights abuses by authoritarian regimes around the world with far worse records than Israel’s. Working definitions of anti-Semitism have designated that holding Israel to a standard different than behavior expected of other countries, that is, selectively criticizing Israel alone, is, in fact, anti-Semitic. The Complaint noted that “Defendants and the LESMC vilify and demonize no other foreign state in the world . . . Ignoring, and thereby tacitly condoning the worst human rights abusing nations in the world, the LESMC instructs Los Angeles public schoolchildren only to revile and reject Israel.”

Even Zionism—Jewish self-determination—is attacked in this curriculum. “The LESMC,” the Complaint notes, “also explicitly denounces the Jewish religious principle of Zionism, proclaiming falsely both that Zionism is morally wrong and that it is not actually a tenet of the Jewish religion.” As other critics of Israel do, Zionism is falsely framed as a political ideology alone, one that is based on the illegal acquisition of territory and the subjugation of the indigenous Palestinian people through occupation and control. Just as Jew-haters are quick to define what does and does not constitute anti-Semitism, activists also feel free to define what Zionism is, although never in a positive way.

The Complaint confirmed as much when it observed that the curriculum  “denounces as morally reprehensible an idea, a form of ethnic identity, and a religious commitment, that is, and has for millennia been, central to Jewish belief, Jewish practice, and Jewish identity: the commitment to Zion and to the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel, their ancestral homeland, and the reconstitution and the defense of a sovereign Jewish state in that homeland.”

Teaching children tolerance for historically marginalized or mistreated ethnic groups is certainly a worthwhile and valuable goal for educators. Unfortunately, when teachers see themselves as agents of social change and feel entitled to promote radical, progressive ideology to young minds then students are not being taught tolerance and acceptance, they are being indoctrinated.

And in an era that has seen a frightening spike in the number of anti-Jewish hate crimes—far in excess of those against any other ethnic group—curricula that vilify, slander, and malign Israel, Zionism, and Jews themselves will likely see a new generation of students schooled in hate and made to absorb the bias and hatreds of their teachers.

20 Democrats, including Rashida Tlaib, urge US to exclude Israel from Visa Waiver Program - Jerusalem Post Staff

Led by members of Congress Don Beyer and Rashida Tlaib and addressed to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the lawmakers cite "ethnic-based discrimination" and racial profiling.

Twenty House Democrats on October 27 called on the Biden administration to keep Israel out of the Visa Waiver Program, in a letter first leaked by Jewish Insider.

In the letter, led by members of Congress Don Beyer and Rashida Tlaib and addressed to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the lawmakers cite "ethnic-based discrimination" and racial profiling, adding that Israel does not meet the criteria to enter the program and calling on the US to clamor against Israel on its army's "discriminatory restrictions" for entry into the West Bank.

Israel and the Visa Waiver Program

Israel has long coveted admission into the program, which would allow its citizens to skip the time-consuming and expensive process of obtaining visas. Israeli membership would permit 90-day visits for tourism or business, and would be a catalyst for economic cooperation, according to those in favor.

The US “continues to work with Israel towards fulfilling all Visa Waiver Program requirements, such as extending reciprocal privileges to all US citizens and nationals, including Palestinian Americans,” a State Department official said weeks before congressional Democrats sent their letter.

Vedant Patel, the department’s principal deputy spokesman, said he was “not going to get into specific bilateral negotiations” between the US and Israel.

“We seek equal treatment and freedom to travel for all US citizens regardless of national origin, but I don’t have any other updates to offer on that,” he said in a press briefing.

Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked and US Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides both said earlier this year that Israel could enter the program early next year. But that is less likely in light of the election results.

Israel made significant progress in the past year. US President Joe Biden and Blinken mentioned that the administration intended to push for a visa waiver for Israel when then-prime minister Naftali Bennett was about to visit Washington in September 2021.

The Democrats -- Mass Psychosis or Pathological Lying? - M. B. Mathews

by M. B. Mathews

It is necessary for Democrats to lie and obfuscate. It is the only way they can win.

Many news stories recently have led me to believe that Democrats are suffering either from mass psychoses or mass pathological lying.

Someone please explain how Kathy Hochul doesn't think she's got a crime problem. Or how Newsom thinks he doesn't have a crime/homeless problem. Or how Lightfoot doesn't think she needs to do anything about her over-the-top murder rate among blacks. Or how Biden thinks the economy is strong. Or how Kamala thinks the border is secure.

Charles C. W. Cooke of National Review has this to say about Democrat lying:

About everything, that’s what. They’re lying about inflation -- which first wasn’t going to happen at all, which then wasn’t going to happen for very long, and which is now being blamed on a Russian invasion of Ukraine that started a year after prices started to rise. They’re lying about their agenda -- which began as a New Deal–sized transformation of America, which was then transmuted into an “infrastructure” package that for a brief moment was sold as a $0-in-cost unicorn, and which has finally and ridiculously been recast as a means of fighting the inflation that, as of this week, the White House is calling “Putin’s price hike.” They’re lying about gas prices, for which Joe Biden is or isn’t responsible depending on the day you ask them, and which have inspired the most incoherent set of policy answers in recent memory. They’re lying about Afghanistan -- which was definitely not going to be a catastrophe, until it was a catastrophe, at which point a catastrophe had been the plan all along. They’re lying about Florida’s education policy, and about the nature and scope of science, and about the motivations of the Supreme Court, and about American gun law, and about anything else they can think of that might distract the public from the mess over which they currently preside.

Are the Democrats experiencing mass hallucinations? Mass psychoses? What is happening? Is their media bubble so air-tight that truth never gets in? How does it happen that an entire political party's hierarchy and much of its rank-and-file cannot discern what is true from what is demonstrably false? Or is it that the Democrats know precisely what the truth is and have made the corporate decision to lie, lie, lie all the way to pathology?

Little of what they say in their "news" broadcasts, their social media, their newspapers, or their online blogs is true. Biden said that the economy is "strong as hell." On what planet? Real people are suffering real hardships. In a sense, he's right. Hell is very strong, but no one with a lick of sense wants to live there. Biden has made the economy a living hell for many Americans who believe Democrat lies and continue to vote for them.

Oliver North had some choice words about Democrat lies and the people who tell them. Visit the site linked here to see the truth to each of these lies:

Lie Number 1: America is a systemically racist nation where White people are oppressors and people of color are victims.

Lie Number 2: America’s capitalist economy is based on greed and is inherently unfair to poor and middle-income citizens.

Lie Number 3: The rich keep getting richer, and the poor keep getting poorer because of corrupt, wealthy and heartless business leaders.

Lie Number 4: Federal funding should be redirected from the military and law enforcement and channeled into social welfare benefits for illegal immigrants.

Lie Number 5:  Parents have no say concerning what their children are taught in public schools and are “domestic terrorists” if they speak out.

It seems the Democrats cannot tell the truth. While Republicans have their share of liars, they have not made lying the strongest plank of their agenda. When Republicans lose, they blame themselves, or when elections are tainted, they rightly blame the election apparatus. But Democrats lie as their agenda. They must. Their agenda is so repressive, so unjust, so repulsive, that they must disguise it to be palatable to their voters. Lying is essential to the Democrat politician and media sources so that no truth regarding their aspirations to totalitarianism will be revealed. It is necessary for Democrats to lie and obfuscate. It is the only way they can win.

But something is happening out there. Because the last two years have offered a crash course to all voters in what the Democrat agenda really is -- sexual perversity, anti-white and anti-Asian racism, anti-Semitism, environmental extremism, higher taxes, oppressive regulations, an ignorance-based school curriculum,  a hatred for Christians, and a reduced standard of living for everyone -- voters have wised up. Not all of them, but far more than Democrats imagined in their worst nightmares.

It seems that even minorities don't want what Democrats are selling. If only they were selling instead of mandating, though, because the mandates are what are sticking in voters' collective craws. Their we-know-what's-best-for-you modus operandi is causing a collective bilious nausea among even liberals.

Dan Bongino is fond of comparing the truth to a beach ball that people are trying to submerge. The ball will always pop up. It cannot be held down indefinitely. The lies and the pathology of the Democrats are now visible. Now we can see what it looks like and it's hideous, grotesque and demonic.

When wise people are mentally ill, they get help. When a party is sick they should cleanse the wounds and get healing help from wiser heads.

Are there any wise heads left in the Democrat Party or are they all liars hoping their voters never find out the truth of the Party's real communist agenda?

Biden denounces 'extreme MAGA Republicans,' Trump 'abuse of power' in fiery speech - Ben Whedon

by Ben Whedon

The president explicitly labelled former President Donald Trump a threat to Democracy and a "self-seeking autocrat" [sic]"

In a bellicose speech on Wednesday, President Joe Biden warned Americans that "democracy is on the ballot" ahead of the November midterm elections, attempting to present the electoral contest as a choice between a Trump-led autocracy and a Democratic-led republic.

Biden filled the speech with vitriolic rhetoric against "extreme MAGA Republicans" and derided the "election deniers" who questioned the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election.

"We the people must decide whether we'll have free and fair elections. Every vote counts," he said. "We the people must decide whether the rule of law will prevail or whether we'll allow the dark forces" to triumph.

The president explicitly labelled former President Donald Trump a threat to Democracy and a "self-seeking autocrat" [sic]" while repeatedly insisting that his supporters sought to curtail voting rights.

"Democracy is under attack because the defeated former president refused to accept the results of the 2020 election," he declared emphatically. Trump "abused his power," Biden said, before referring to the "big lie," a common left-wing term for Trump's election fraud claims. He further termed such claims to be an "article of faith in the MAGA Republican Party."

Biden went on to note that "more than 300 election deniers" were on the ballot nationwide, referring to a liberal favorite pejorative label for those in any way raising election integrity concerns, however substantiated.

Biden repeatedly called on voters to repudiate political violence, which he asserted could be done by forcefully rejecting Trump-backed candidates in the election.

"My fellow Americans, we'll meet this moment," he concluded. "May God bless you all."

Biden Admin to Investigate Guy They Disapprove Of Buying Twitter - Daniel Greenfield

by Daniel Greenfield

"A growing number of Biden allies have in recent days clamored for CFIUS to investigate"

Is this the post-contempt phase of corrupt totalitarian politics that sets in, in banana republics when there are zero expectations of anything except corrupt criminality by the powers at the top?

Why yes, I think it is.

U.S. exploring whether it has authority to review Musk’s Twitter deal – Washington Post

U.S.? Is that what we’re calling a partisan faction abusing its authority for political gain?

Does anyone seriously believe that the Biden administration would be investigating Elon Musk’s Twitter buy if t were say, Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos or if Musk were a reliable vote and committed to suppressing opposition speech?

That revelation comes as Treasury Department officials begin looking into whether they have the legal authority to start an investigation into the purchase because of Musk’s ties to foreign governments and investors, people familiar with those discussions said…

White House officials also previously discussed the possibility of a national security review of the acquisition, according to another person. Additionally, officials at the FBI looked into the potential counterintelligence risks posed by the deal this past spring, according to two people familiar with the inquiry — though it is not clear whether the matter has been studied by senior officials at the bureau or if those discussions are still active. All the people spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss matters they were not authorized to disclose publicly.

So the White House, the FBI and Treasury? Also known as the Biden administration looking for any angle to secure control over a key social media outlet again. Perhaps these folks might want to look into TikTok, which I hear is run by our enemies. Instead, Biden is being promoted by the Democrats on TikTok. But let’s skip forward to saying the quiet part out loud.

The U.S. government’s preliminary attempts to scrutinize the Twitter deal comes as the billionaire introduces new changes to the structure of one the world’s most powerful communication platforms…

A growing number of Biden allies have in recent days clamored for CFIUS to investigate how these nations could influence Musk.

So it’s about the politics.

Launching investigations of companies for partisan political gain would seem to be illegal and an impeachable offense.

Turns out, Muslims—not evangelicals, Jews, or rednecks—are the most ‘Islamophobic’ demographic in America - Raymond Ibrahim

by Raymond Ibrahim

As it happens, Muslims—they who know Islam more than anyone else—are more Islamophobic than non-Muslims in America

For long, the powers that be have insisted that Islamophobia—defined as “unfounded fear of and hostility towards Islam”—is the root of all problems between Muslims and non-Muslims in the West. Speaking last May, Joe Biden lamented that “so many Muslims [are] being targeted with violence. No one, no one should [be] discriminated against or be oppressed for their religious beliefs…. Muslims make our nation stronger every single day, even as they still face real challenges and threats in our society, including targeted violence and Islamophobia that exists.”

The accusation is that, based on a number of negative stereotypes concerning Muslims—for example, that they are violent, hostile, and uncivilized—Americans have come to dislike and fear Muslims; and this, in turn, makes Muslims resentful and eventually lash out.

A recent poll, however, has completely overturned this position (not, of course, that the powers that be will acknowledge it).  As it happens, Muslims—they who know Islam more than anyone else—are more Islamophobic than non-Muslims in America; they are more, not less, prone to believing that fellow Muslims are violent, hostile, and uncivilized.

The poll was conducted by the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU), a Muslim think tank headquartered in Dearborn. Its findings were so inescapable that ISPU—whose entire existence revolves around presenting Muslims as victims of Islamophobia in America—had to conclude that, “over time, Islamophobia has declined among other groups but has increased among Muslims.”

Consider the following excerpts from the report (while taking certain words and phrases employed by the Muslim think tank—such as “tropes” and “false notions”—with a grain of salt):

Muslims, themselves, are by far the most Islamophobic group when it comes to the false notion that Muslims are more prone to violence than others. One-quarter of American Muslims (24%) somewhat or strongly agree with this trope, which is at least about two times more likely than other groups. In comparison, 9% of Jews, 8% of Catholics, 11% of Protestants, 12% of white Evangelicals, 13% of the nonaffiliated, and 9% of the general public agree with the idea that Muslims are more prone to violence than others….  Roughly one-quarter of Arab Muslims (23%) agree that Muslims are more prone to violence than others….

American Muslims (19%) are more likely to agree with this idea [that “most Muslims living in the US are hostile to the US”] than are Jews (4%), Protestants (10%), the nonaffiliated (7%), and the general public (8%).…

[Then there is] the erroneous idea that most Muslims living in the United States are less civilized than other groups. Again, we find that Muslims exhibit higher levels of endorsement of this trope with American Muslims nearly three times more likely than white Evangelicals to do so. Nearly one in five Muslims (19%) agree with this trope, compared with 5% of Jews, 6% of Catholics, 5% of Protestants, 7% of white Evangelicals, 5% of the nonaffiliated, and 5% of the general public. The 19% of Muslims who agree with this idea includes 11% who ‘strongly agree’ compared with 1-2% of all other groups surveyed.

These findings are eye opening to say the least.  Remember, the entire premise of Islamophobia is that, in their ignorance of “true Islam,” xenophobic Americans are prone to stereotyping Muslims as violent, hostile, and uncivilized.  Yet, behold the truth: no one segment of the American population sees Muslims as violent, hostile, and uncivilized as much as those who are best acquainted with everything to do with being Muslim—that is, Muslims themselves.

Perhaps it is fitting to close by returning to Biden, and his claims that Muslims are perpetual victims of Islamophobia and violence:  When, on August 5, 2022, a fourth Muslim man was killed in Albuquerque, Biden rushed to exploit these murders in furtherance of his narrative, tweeting: “These hateful attacks have no place in America,” thus implying American “Islamophobia” was the driver of these murders.

Then reality hit: the murderer was himself a Muslim—and thus one more reminder why Muslims are so Islamophobic, rightly fearing fellow Muslims.

We are always being admonished to listen to Muslims.  When it comes to evaluating which aspects of Islam are “tropes” and which are not, perhaps we should start.
