Melissa DeRosa admitted on a conference call with Democratic lawmakers that the Cuomo administration hid the number of deaths at nursing homes, fearing it would be politicized by Cuomo's political opponents.
Fox News has hired a former aide to former New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo who admitted to covering up deaths at nursing homes in the state during the COVID pandemic.
Melissa DeRosa will be a contributor and co-host of a new podcast, "The Girls," set to air beginning Oct. 1., according to a Fox News Media press release.
DeRosa while working for the Cuomo admitted on a conference call with Democratic lawmakers that his administration hid the number of deaths at nursing homes, fearing it would be politicized by political opponents, including President Donald Trump, the Daily Caller reported.
Revelations that New York omitted an unknown number of deaths from COVID in reports on residents of nursing homes and adult care facilities were first reported in 2020 by the Daily Caller. A 2021 report from the New York State Assembly alleged that Cuomo had personally edited the Department of Health’s numbers to reduce nursing home COVID deaths by thousands.
DeRosa resigned in August 2021 following allegations Cuomo sexually harassed government employees.
