Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the evacuation of 14 illegal West Bank outposts defined as "centers of Jewish extremism and nationalist crime," in a recent security meeting, N12 News reported on Saturday.

During the discussion, the cabinet also decided to forcibly remove 70 far Right activists suspected of "conducting severe violence" against Palestinians and others, who are using the outposts as hideouts.

"These outposts have become forward positions from which raids are carried out on Palestinian villages," N12 quoted security officials as saying, noting that there has also been a recent rise in damaging state symbols and subversion against the state, including attacking Israeli security personnel.

Approximately 30 of these activists have had restraining orders issued against them, with that number reportedly expected to increase.

"Security officials even recommended exercising powers against activists similar to those exercised against Palestinian terrorism," N12 reported, explaining that the meeting also addressed the need to grant more resources to the Shin Bet's (Israel Security Agency) Jewish Division.

Netanyahu "is not at all concerned with clearing outposts," N12 quoted a political source as responding. "The prime minister met with senior security officials and social figures with the aim of dealing with a group of lawless youths who are not part of the settlements and do not represent them."

"Any other headline is wrong and false."

Netanyahu holds emergency meeting over security failures in West Bank

This development comes after Netanyahu held an emergency meeting at the end of November to address the growing concerns over the failure of the IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police to contain escalating violence carried out by Jewish extremists in the West Bank.

The meeting took place as dozens of young Jewish men entered the Palestinian village of Huwara and set fire to vehicles and buildings, reportedly in retaliation for the killing of Aharon Cohen, 70, a resident of Kiryat Arba, who was shot dead during a terror attack at the Gush Etzion junction last month.

During the initial security assessment, IDF Central Command head Maj.-Gen. Avi Bluth warned: “The writing is on the wall. There are normal residents living on the farms, and in the outposts, there are disorderly lawbreakers and rioters.”

National Missions Minister Orit Strock emphasized distinctions between settlers, saying: “There are farms and there are outposts, and they are different.”

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said, “There are good people in the outposts as well. It cannot be that you evacuate an outpost, while on the other hand, Arabs who also build illegally in the West Bank are not evacuated.”

Avi Ashkenzai, Anna Barsky, and Amichai Stein contributed to this report.
