CNN omits Judea and Samaria in report on terror - Ben Ariel

CNN publishes updated map of places in which terror attacks took place this month, fails to include attacks on Judea and Samaria.

CNN on Tuesday published an updated map showing places in the world in which terrorist attacks had taken place during the Muslim month of Ramadan – but failed to include Judea and Samaria.

“Updated map: This graphic shows the extent of terror attacks throughout Ramadan in 2016,” the network tweeted.

The map identifies places such as Orlando, Paris, Istanbul and Lebanon, and also lists the June 8 attack on the Sarona Market in Tel Aviv in which four people were murdered.

It does not, however, point out the two attacks last week against Israeli citizens of Judea and Samaria in which 13-year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel and Rabbi Michael Mark were murdered.

Several Twitter users pointed out that the network had not mentioned the attacks in Judea and Samaria, including the Twitter account for the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT).

Another user sarcastically wrote, “@CNN Israel 1 attack? because attacks on 'settlers' in 'occupied territories' don't count. #LCE we think Green Line; they think Shoreline.”

The incident is, of course, not the first time that CNN has showed an anti-Israel bias. In its original report on the Sarona Market attack, the network wrote that two terrorists were captured after the attack but placed the word “terrorists” in quotation marks.

The biased report caused outrage among readers, and Israeli diplomats reportedly let CNN know they were angry and expected the network to do something about the matter.

CNN later apologized for this and clarified the attack was “undoubtedly” a terrorist attack.
