NPR slammed for dismissing coverage of Hunter Biden laptop scandal as a 'waste of time' - Brian Flood

Hunter Biden's former business partner releases emails about 2017 Chinese energy company deal

NPR has ignored the ongoing scandal surrounding a laptop purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden ‒ which contained emails revealing his foreign business dealings, first reported by the New York Post – and the nonprofit media organization is being slammed for its attempt to explain the bombshell blackout.

NPR public editor Kelly McBride published an inquiry on the radio's website on Thursday from a listener who didn’t understand why the story has been ignored.

RATCLIFFE SAYS HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP, EMAILS 'NOT PART OF SOME RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION CAMPAIGN'

“Someone please explain why NPR has apparently not reported on the Joe Biden, Hunter Biden story in the last week or so that Joe did know about Hunter's business connections in Europe that Joe had previously denied having knowledge?” listener Carolyn Abbott asked.

NPR has ignored the scandal surrounding a laptop purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden which contained emails revealing his foreign business dealings.

McBride claimed there are “many, many red flags in that New York Post investigation” and Intelligence officials have warned “that Russia has been working overtime” to keep the story in the news.

“Even if Russia can’t be positively connected to this information, the story of how Trump associates Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani came into a copy of this computer hard drive has not been verified and seems suspect. And if that story could be verified, the NY Post did no forensic work to convince consumers that the emails and photos that are the basis for their report have not been altered,” McBride said before adding, “But the biggest reason you haven’t heard much on NPR about the Post story is that the assertions don’t amount to much.”

SENATE HOMELAND SECURITY COMMITTEE INVESTIGATING HUNTER BIDEN EMAILS

In her response to the listener, McBride included a quote by NPR managing editor Terence Samuel, who went even further.

“We don't want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don't want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions. And quite frankly, that's where we ended up, this was … a politically driven event and we decided to treat it that way,” Samuel said.

Meanwhile, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Monday said that Hunter Biden’s laptop “is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign."

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is investigating Hunter Biden’s emails which reveal that he introduced his father, the former vice president, to a top executive at Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings in 2015, among other allegations.

SOURCE ON ALLEGED HUNTER BIDEN EMAIL CHAIN VERIFIES MESSAGE ABOUT CHINESE FIRM

“Defund NPR. American taxpayer dollars should not be out there being utilized to push false propaganda and cover up for Joe Biden’s corruption! It’s been corroborated with a third-party witness who is on the emails what a disgrace NPR has become,” Donald Trump Jr. responded.

NPR was swiftly mocked when it tweeted out the explanation for censoring the news:

The Biden Crime Family Comes Undone - Daniel Greenfield

 by Daniel Greenfield

Say it ain’t so, Joe.

The Biden family is notorious for being the crookedest clan not only in Delaware, but in D.C.

Delaware is a pretty small place, but D.C. is even smaller, yet the scope for corruption, unethical behavior, conflicts of interest, and even brazen thievery are far greater in Washington D.C.

And yet the Biden family stood out even there. To be born a Biden in the era after Joe switched his party affiliation, plagiarized his speeches, and inappropriately touched every woman or girl he could get his hands on in the state and the nation, was to be bred into dirty money.

Joe Biden was now asked in Wisconsin if Hunter had “profited off the Biden name”.

“None whatsoever,” the godfather of Delaware retorted. And the entire state laughed.

Say it ain’t so, Joe.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat or a Republican, in Delaware, everyone knows that the Biden name means money in the bank. Literally. Just ask MBNA, Hunter’s former employer, whose executives poured $200,000 into Joe’s coffers, and one of whom bought his house.

“Don’t worry about investors,” James Biden, Joe's brother, famous for scoring a billion dollar contract to build houses in Iraq, told executives at Paradigm Global Advisors.  “We've got people all around the world who want to invest in Joe Biden.”

James had bought Paradigm together with Hunter Biden.

Biden can try to deny the obvious, but he isn’t even trying to deny that the emails and photos are real, or that it was his son’s laptop. Instead, he spouted a word salad of gibberish, stating, “the vast of the intelligence people have come out and said there’s no basis at all.”

Why does Biden need to call on “the vast of the intelligence people” who carefully avoided making a firm statement, to deny something he is better able to deny on his own?

Because it’s really an admission.

The latest emails make it all too clear that Joe Biden got Viktor Shokin, the Ukranian prosecutor, fired because Burisma wanted him gone and that Hunter Biden's purpose in making deals with a powerful Chinese energy company linked to the Communist regime was to produce income for "me and my family". It’s no wonder that the latest reports link the FBI’s subpoena of the laptop, not to the media’s false claims of a Russian op, but to a money laundering investigation.

Investing in Joe Biden or, as one message allegedly has it, "the big guy", meant depositing the money with James or Hunter. And then Hunter deposited a laptop with a small computer repair shop in Delaware five miles from his father’s home, and never picked it up. The rest is history.

And the history is happening now.

The Hunter Biden laptop unrolls two ragged threads. One is the descent of Joe Biden’s son into new depths of depravity and the other are the foreign investors who bought into Joe Biden Inc.

The alleged photos of Hunter Biden’s drug use and underage girls might be dismissed as a spoiled rich kid’s demons. But, looking at public photos and videos of Joe Biden touching, caressing, and sniffing women and young girls, it’s hard not to see the influence. What did a teenage Hunter grow up seeing his father do? How did that shape him into the man he is?

And why was Hunter able to get away with it for so long?

In alleged text messages exchanged between Joe and Hunter Biden, father and son discuss "sexually inappropriate" behavior with a 14-year-old girl.

"She told my therapist that I was sexually inappropriate with [name of 14-year-old girl redacted] when she says that I facetime naked with her and the reason I can’t have her out to see me is because I’ll walk around naked smoking crack talking [redacted] girls on face time," Hunter appeared to message his father.

What was done about this? The odds are good that the answer is nothing.

The Hunter Biden laptop was turned over to the FBI in December of 2019. And the FBI appears to have done little with it. Giuliani submitted material allegedly showing criminal sexual behavior to the Delaware police who passed it off to the Delaware Department of Justice.

A spokesman for Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings said it was sent to the FBI.

Jennings is not only a Democrat, but a friend of the Biden family who had worked under Beau Biden and has been vigorously campaigning for Joe Biden.

"I’ve known Joe, Jill, and the Biden family for most of my life. Joe is one of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve ever known," Jennings had posted on her Facebook page.

The Biden family may have been able to get away with a lot for the same reason as the Kennedy clan. They were big fish in a small pond being protected by the Democrat club. Like some Kennedy sons, Hunter may have spun out of control because he could get away with it.

That’s why Hunter Biden’s story is just an echo of Joe. Father and son appear to share a boundless greed for unearned wealth and women, and a complete lack of self-control with both.

And both men have spent their lives being protected from the consequences of their actions.

Laptop computers, like notebooks, are the mirrors of their owners. We use them and fill them with the things that matter to us. Going through a lost laptop or phone tells us a lot about the man or woman who spent years with it. Hunter Biden’s laptop is a mirror of the man. And the mirror shows a broken and corrupt human being filling its gigabytes with his demons.

What were Hunter Biden’s demons? The same as the ones that bedeviled Joe. Women and money. And as dirty and wrong as possible. That’s why Hunter allegedly didn’t just seek out money, he went after business opportunities in the most corrupt places in the world, like Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China, and he didn’t just chase women.

Instead, Rudy Giuliani has said that the laptop contained photos of underage girls.

But the bigger story isn’t Hunter’s depravity, it’s the business opportunities, the lobbying gigs and board seats offered to him by foreign companies looking to invest in Joe Biden.

In less than two weeks, Joe Biden’s stock will either boom or bust. And voters are entitled to know who, beyond the battalions of domestic special interests from Wall Street to Hollywood, from the gun control lobby to green businesses, pouring hundreds of millions into his campaign, is getting ready to collect interest on the foreign money that financed Hunter’s lifestyle.

Hunter Biden's emails offer a window into a global operation, in the Ukraine, in Kazakhstan, and the People's Republic of China, of investing in Joe Biden courtesy of his wastrel son.

Joe Biden has claimed that he has nothing to do with his son’s business affairs, but that’s a transparent lie that had been shot down even long before the laptop by media reporting. The media is frantically trying to bury information that backs up their own reporting from the primaries when the same media now trying to save Joe Biden originally wanted to bury him.

Why did so many Democrat officials, beginning with Barack Obama, try to keep Joe Biden from running in 2016 and then 2020? Joe Biden is a mediocre hack, but he’s a better candidate than Hillary Clinton, not to mention lefty luminaries like Al Gore or John Kerry. The problem was that the small state that spawned the Biden crime family was littered with their dirty laundry.

And now, in the final stretch before Election Day, the messy stained laundry is spilling out.

Like Humpty Dumpty, all the Democrat horses and men are trying to keep the mess contained. Twitter and Facebook are blatantly suppressing the story. The media has refused to cover the biggest scandal of the election while falsely claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop is Russian disinformation despite clear denials by the intelligence community and the FBI.

Hunter Biden’s laptop isn’t just evidence of a degenerate past, but of the coming attractions.

The Biden crime family has built a global network of contacts. And when their father was a mere veep, they could only wet their beaks a little. If he wins, they’ll be able to drown in money.

Joe could throw around his weight in a backwater like Ukraine, but if he wins, Burisma will just be a tiny taste of what is to come. And the corruption in D.C. will make Delaware blush again.

Corruption is nothing new in D.C., but what the laptop reveals about Hunter Biden and his father is that, like the Clintons, they have no self-control. And the only thing more dangerous than cunning crooks at the head of a nation are inept kleptocrats who would leave evidence of their financial and sexual corruption on a laptop abandoned in a Delaware repair shop.

As new details trickle out, two things are obvious about the Biden crime family: they’re not only as crooked as a bent tree in a thunderstorm, they’re also hopelessly stupid at covering it up.

Even as the media denies everything for the Bidens, they have yet to deny the core facts.

Rep. Schiff may claim that Hunter Biden’s laptop is a Russian conspiracy, but neither Joe nor Hunter will say it. And what Schiff and the Democrats and their media can only say behind their backs is that they can’t believe how corrupt and incompetent the horse they bet on really is.

They haven’t seen anything yet.

FBI Director Wray is Worse than Comey - Chris Farrell

 by Chris Farrell

It now appears he stood on the sidelines and watched President Trump go through impeachment unjustly, while having credible reason to believe that Vice President Biden had actually done all of the very things Trump was falsely accused of doing.

  • We must now come to grips with the likelihood that Wray is worse for the country than Comey.

  • Wray has an affirmative obligation to come forward with credible derogatory information and conduct appropriate investigations when presented with evidence. Even Comey did that. It now appears he stood on the sidelines and watched President Trump go through impeachment unjustly, while having credible reason to believe that Vice President Biden had actually done all of the very things Trump was falsely accused of doing. Wray had a legal obligation to tell the Attorney General, the President and the Congress. He had a moral obligation to tell the American people.

  • Wray's record of non-performance was bad enough. Wray could not see the gross political bias in the FBI. He does not see voter fraud. Wray covers-up for corrupt FBI agents. He claims the violent domestic terrorist group Antifa is more of an ideology. These are astounding denials of documented facts.

  • Here is the bigger question concerning FBI Director Wray: What is going on within the FBI about which we have no idea? One is left to imagine the once vaunted Bureau as nothing but a rat's nest of corruption populated by either political schemers or careerist ostriches obsessed with their pensions and post-retirement, FBI-referred jobs.

FBI Director Christopher Wray. (Photo by Joshua Roberts/Pool/AFP via Getty Images)

Christopher Wray assumed office as the eighth director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on August 2, 2017. He was preceded by the odious coup-plotter James Comey. We must now come to grips with the likelihood that Wray is worse for the country than Comey.

The old adage that "the cover-up is worse than the crime" is applicable here. Comey's plot was seditious. Wray's conspiracy runs deeper. He adopted the wrongdoing of Comey and talked it away in Washingtonian passive voice: "mistakes were made." Wray engaged in a program of damage control and institutional preservation for the disgraced FBI. He did not clean house and reform. Wray is acting as a legal obstructionist, fighting tooth and nail to keep the full story of the corrupt "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation of President Trump and his associates from the American people. FISA warrants are phonied-up and courts lied to repeatedly? Oh, that's a "training" problem.

In the past few days, the New York Post broke stunning news (actively suppressed by social media) that former Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter, left three water-damaged laptops with a Delaware computer repair company that contained a wealth of damning information concerning the Democratic presidential nominee. Information on Ukraine and Bursima (the corrupt energy company). Not just embarrassing or awkward information -- no, this is the sort of information that results in criminal indictments. Hunter appears to have explicitly leveraged his father's position as Vice President -- and that there was "consideration" planned for the "Big Guy." It seems as if Joe Biden knew or should have known what was going on.

The NY Post reported that Hunter Biden introduced his father, the sitting vice president, to a top Burisma executive (Vadym Pozharskyi) who appears to have sent an email of thanks to Hunter Biden for the "opportunity" to meet his father. The email was dated April 17, 2015.

Here is how President Trump describes it:

"Hunter Biden's laptop is a disaster for the entire Biden family, but especially for his father, Joe. It is now a proven fact, and cannot be denied, that all of that info is the REAL DEAL."

Additional reporting reveals that the FBI had copies of the Hunter Biden laptops hard drives in November 2019 and then took physical custody of the devices in December 2019.

November and December 2019? That was when President Trump was being impeached. What did Director Wray know and when did he know it? Did Wray allow the impeachment charade to go on while knowing that the exact opposite of what was being claimed against President Trump was, in fact, the truth?

On November 13, 2019, public impeachment hearings began in the U.S. House Intelligence Committee. President Trump was impeached on two counts on December 18, 2019. All of this phony "whistleblower" Ukraine hysteria is going on and Wray does nothing? To the "fair of heart and mind," we can assure you that the FBI director would have been personally briefed on developments in a case involving the former VP.

Let us be very clear: Wray has an affirmative obligation to come forward with credible derogatory information and conduct appropriate investigations when presented with evidence.

Comey told the American public about Anthony Weiner's laptop. Where is Wray's announcement about the Hunter Biden laptops? Where is AG Barr's appointment of a Special Counsel?

Wray's record of non-performance was bad enough. Wray could not see the gross political bias in the FBI. He does not see voter fraud. Wray covers-up for corrupt FBI agents. He claims the violent domestic terrorist group Antifa is more of an ideology. These are astounding denials of documented facts.

Here is the bigger question concerning FBI Director Wray: What is going on within the FBI about which we have no idea? One is left to imagine the once vaunted Bureau as nothing but a rat's nest of corruption populated by either political schemers or careerist ostriches obsessed with their pensions and post-retirement, FBI-referred jobs.

You can bet "official Washington" has fought tooth and nail to keep all of the incidents discussed in this column under wraps. Lawsuits, congressional hearings, inspector general reports, and special prosecutors have not successfully unearthed all the details. The press reports are good, but there are still some murky details and imprecision concerning the basic interrogatives.

People such as Comey and Wray are toxic to the republic. They destroy what is left of the constitution. They poison the American body politic. The only way to arrest the malignant cancer they represent is through criminal prosecutions. This, of course, is another reason why this election is so important. The choice for the future (and any semblance of restored justice) is very clear.

‘10% Joe’ – From Grandfather to Godfather - David Isaac

 by David Isaac

Ordinary Joe, we hardly knew ye.

We thought Joe Biden was the grandfather. It turns out he’s more like the godfather.

It’s the big reveal in the Hunter Biden story.

Until now, we thought Hunter, the “f—ked up addict that can’t be trusted” (in his own words) who sent not one but three laptops full of incriminating material in for repairs – an act so stupid that even crack can’t be blamed – was the one taking advantage of his father’s position to enrich himself.

(Compounding the idiocy, despite repeated notifications, he failed to pay the $85 bill to reclaim the one salvageable laptop, so that after 90 days it became the legal property of the repair shop.)

What we learn from the laptop is that Joe (referred to as “the big guy”) was to get a 10% cut of the loot from a deal with a now defunct Chinese energy company with strong ties to the Chinese government (the email outlines an equity split including “20 for H” and “10 held by H for the big guy.” That makes “10% Joe” analogous to the Godfather, the capo dei capi, the boss due his share of the family’s enterprises.

So Biden is  getting “his beak wet,” as former NYC Mayor and current Trump advisor Rudy Giuliani points out in a damning video describing the “Biden crime family’s payoff scheme.”

There’s more.  Hunter tells his daughter Naomi in a 2018 text-message exchange: “I hope you all can do what I did, and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years and it has been tough. It’s really hard but don’t worry, unlike Pop, I won’t make you give me half your salary.”

It would take some real mental gymnastics to convince any normal person – that is, anyone not marinating in Democratic talking points - that “Pop” wasn’t referring to Joe Biden.

Did Biden really get half? It sounds more like Hunter is complaining that he had to give his dad anything.

The amount really doesn’t matter. It puts paid to Joe’s claims that “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.” It should lead to a federal investigation, starting with subpoenas to Hunter’s banks.

Other emails are equally damning when it comes to Joe’s claims to know nothing of his son’s business affairs. There’s the email from Burisma board adviser Vadym Pozharskyi thanking Hunter for setting up a meeting with then Vice President Biden.

“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” the email reads.

Up to now the worst that was usually said of Biden is that he wasn’t up to the job. He was a kindly grandfather who was cognitively slipping. To Trump opponents, it didn’t matter. What was important was that Biden would return the country to “normalcy.” Peggy Noonan wrote in an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal (Oct. 8):

“If Joe Biden wins big, part of the reason, maybe a big part, will be simply that he is normal. Not ‘he’s such an accomplished legislator,’ not ‘he’s the man of the future’ or ‘charismatic’ or ‘warm’ or ‘has such a moving back story.’ No. He is normal. And people miss normal so much.”

A family business raking in millions for access to U.S. policy makers is “normal”?

Still less excusable than Noonan’s silly remarks are those of U.S. Adm. (ret.) William McRaven, who extols Biden in the Wall Street Journal (Oct. 20), well after the scandal broke: “We need a leader of integrity whose decency and sense of respect reflects the values we expect from our president.”

We hope McRaven was a better admiral than he is a judge of character.

And the response of mainstream media to the Post’s revelations?

In what may be the most blatant example of media censorship in U.S. history, the story has been buried by Big Tech and blackballed/denied by the media giants.

Facebook and Twitter, in the tank for Biden, both blocked the link to the Post story. Twitter blocked the Trump campaign’s official account and also that of White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. The major news outlets have rushed in unison to label the Post scoop “Russian disinformation.” Their response was so monolithic that John Ratcliffe, the Director of National Intelligence felt impelled to intervene, assuring there was “no intelligence that supports that.”

The hard drive is full of pictures of the Biden family, Hunter (sometimes in compromising positions) and over 11,000 emails, most of them harmless. And why, as Giuliani points out, did Hunter Biden’s lawyers repeatedly demand his computer be returned (once they realized the disaster that was brewing)? Seems like a strange approach if you think it’s all Russian disinformation, and not Hunter’s computer at all.

When Your House is Burning Down, Grab a Fire Extinguisher Fast - Don Feder

 by Don Feder

The one man who stands between us and the revolution.

There is one overriding issue in this campaign. It’s not abortion, immigration or judicial nominations, as important as they are.

When your house is on fire, don’t make plans to redecorate. There’s a fire raging in America which could consume our country. This isn’t hyperbole. It’s reality. If the revolutionaries seize control, nothing else will matter in the long run.

We’ve seen it time and again. We saw it in the streets of Paris in 1789, in Moscow in 1917 and in Germany the early 1930s – the marches and sloganeering, the rage, the murderous violence, the attacks on authority, the chaos, and the insistence that only a revolutionary vanguard understood the will of the people.

The enemy was aristocratic privilege, or an antiquated monarchy, or “capitalist exploitation” or the Jews. This time, it’s carefully orchestrated charges of institutional racism, police brutality, and an unjust economic system.

We used to say it can’t happen here. That’s what some Germans told themselves during the Weimar years. How could a country so educated, so cultured -- the center of scientific research and medical advancement -- elect a gang of murderous cretins? They did.

In the 18th century, France epitomized refinement in art, architecture and literature. French was the language of most European courts, the language of diplomacy. Then came the guillotine.

And America?

We pioneered representative government and civil liberties. Our Constitution was a model for developing nations the world over. We survived a Civil War, the Great Depression, two World Wars, and the upheaval of the 1960s. We told ourselves we were the last remaining superpower, and other comforting cliches. But civilization is never assured. The barbarians are always at the gates.

It’s not just the anarchy in our streets, but chaos with a purpose -- chaos that’s been carefully cultivated.

• Antifa and Black Lives Matter are the salt and pepper of the demolition squad. BLM’s founders describe themselves as “trained Marxists.”  Antifa follows the communist playbook by calling everyone who opposes them “fascists.”

• Playing on racial guilt, Black Lives Matter is funded by major corporations – including Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Uber and Grubhub.Lenin said, “Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.” Eager to prove their progressive credentials, corporations are giving away the rope.

• In Portland, Seattle, Chicago and New York, Democratic mayors have refused to put down the insurrection, even after months of rioting and property damage in excess of $1 billion (in 130 cities) – even when businesses are fleeing and their tax base is shrinking. By September 4, Portland had endured 100 nights of rioting. To celebrate Indigenous People’s (anti-Columbus)Day, revolutionaries demolished statues of Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt and ransacked the Oregon Historical Society. During the Summer, Mayor Ted Wheeler said he was waiting for the riots to burn themselves out. How’s that working?

• Prosecutors bought and paid for by George Soros refuse to prosecute rioters. The police (who are resigning or taking early retirement in record numbers) throw up their hands in disgust. In the NYPD, retirements are up 87% over 2019.

• The Democratic Party has become the cheering section for the revolution. In June, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said, “People are more important than property. Black Lives Do Matter.”  In other words, you can burn our cities to the ground and we won’t do a damn thing about it. Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey exultantly proclaimed: “Yes, America is burning, but that’s how forests grow.” Staffers on the Biden and Harris campaigns have donated to bail funds for the rioters.

• Biden ignored the violence for three months. When he was finally forced to say something (on August 30), his disavowal was weak and equivocal. It included police “violence” and mythical right-wing militias, but no mention of Antifa and BLM. Ever helpful, Two-Gun Joe recently suggested that when their life is at stake, police should stop the use of deadly force against them by shooting suspects in the leg.

• Now there’s an online manual (ShutDownDC) for “disrupting the country” if Trump wins.

A Biden victory will be the revolution in power – like Hindenburg appointing Hitler after the Nationalist Socialists won a plurality in the 1932 election.

Antifa and BLM will make the transition from brown shirts to Schutzstaffel – a paramilitary force used to terrorize opponents of the regime.

Under a creature like Andrew Cuomo, the Justice Department will be used to probe and prosecute police on suspicion of doing their job, to intimidate them into compliance. As Governor, Cuomo said there was no place in New York for conservatives. As AG, they’ll be no place for conservatives in America.

Under Chief Justice Hillary Clinton, an expanded Supreme Court will provide a veneer of constitutionality to the regime’s depredations, including confiscation of civilian firearms.

Shortly after his inauguration, the 25th Amendment will be invoked and Biden will be removed for mental incapacity, whereupon Kamala Harris will become the president from the 9th Circle of Hell.

There will be a modern equivalent of the Reichstag fire that the regime will use to consolidate its power and demonize everyone on the right. After D.C. and Puerto Rico become states, and millions here illegally are amnestied and made citizens, future elections will be a sham.

There is one man that stands between us and the triumph of the revolution.

Palestinians: What Failure Looks Like - Khaled Abu Toameh

 by Khaled Abu Toameh

By praising the Syrian government for "achieving security and stability," the Fatah leaders are actually sending the message to Assad that he can continue to kill, imprison and torture Palestinians by the thousands.

  • The leaders did not travel to Syria to find ways to help the Palestinians living there.

  • It is one thing to fail your people by stealing the money that the international community sends to them. But it is another level of unacceptable indifference to turn a blind eye to atrocities committed against your own people by an Arab country.

  • By praising the Syrian government for "achieving security and stability," the Fatah leaders are actually sending the message to Assad that he can continue to kill, imprison and torture Palestinians by the thousands.

  • By holding meetings in Damascus without discussing how to help their beleaguered people in Syria, Palestinian leaders are sending the message that thwarting peace plans and condemning Arabs for making peace with Israel take precedence over the safety of their people. In short, this visit marks another star "failure" of the Palestinian leadership.

A delegation was dispatched to Syria this month by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as part of his effort to unify the Palestinians against Israel and the US. The delegation, headed by Jibril Rajoub, Secretary-General of the Fatah Central Committee, completely ignored the plight of Palestinians in Syria during its stay in Damascus. Pictured: Rajoub on July 2, 2020, in Ramallah. (Photo by Abbas Momani/AFP via Getty Images)

When Arabs such as Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz denounce Palestinian leaders as "failures," they are specifically referring to financial corruption, divisions among the Palestinians, ingratitude toward Arab countries that supported them financially and politically, and the many missed opportunities to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Recently, however, Palestinian leaders displayed another of their ongoing "failures" when they visited Syria, where, for the past nine years, thousands of Palestinians have been killed, wounded, displaced, arrested and forced out of their homes. The leaders did not travel to Syria to find ways to help the Palestinians living there.

This time, the Palestinian leaders, representing the ruling Fatah faction, arrived in Damascus during the first week of October for talks with leaders of Syria-based Palestinian factions on ways of achieving "national unity," holding new elections for the Palestinian Authority (PA) presidency and parliament (Palestine Legislative Council) and "confronting Israeli-American conspiracies" against the Palestinian people.

The Fatah delegation was dispatched to Syria by PA President Mahmoud Abbas as part of his effort to unify the Palestinians against Israel and the US, and hold long-overdue elections for the PA presidency and PLC.

The delegation, headed by Jibril Rajoub, Secretary-General of the Fatah Central Committee, completely ignored the plight of Palestinians in Syria during its stay in Damascus.

Rajoub and his delegation did not even raise the subject with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad when they met with him on October 6. Instead, Rajoub reportedly praised the Syrian government for its success in "achieving security and stability" and expressed hope that the Syrians would be able to "eradicate terrorism in all parts of Syria."

Again, the Palestinian delegation had nothing to say about the suffering of Palestinians in Syria when its members met with leaders of the Iran-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian radical groups such as As-Saiqa, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) and Popular Front-General Command.

It is worth noting that these Syria-based factions are totally opposed to any peace process with Israel, do not recognize Israel's right to exist and are committed to the "armed struggle" to destroy Israel. Some of these factions, especially Popular Front-General Command, headed by Ahmed Jibril, have been involved in the Syrian authorities' atrocities against Palestinians in Syria since the beginning of the civil war in that country in 2011.

The Syria-based groups belong to the Palestinian "rejectionist" camp, which has rejected the Oslo Accords signed between Israel and the PLO in 1993 and 1995. Is Abbas so naïve to assume that the "rejectionist" camp would agree to participate in Palestinian elections under the Oslo Accords it so vehemently opposes? These factions do not care about elections. They do not care about peace plans. They do not care about "unity" between Abbas's Fatah faction and Hamas. They are driven by one goal: perpetrating terror attacks against Israel and killing as many Jews as possible.

If the Palestinian factions do not care about the suffering of their own people in Syria, what makes Abbas think that they would care about the well-being of Palestinians in the West Bank or Gaza Strip?

During their discussions in Damascus, the leaders of the Palestinian factions did not utter a word about the 4,048 Palestinians killed during the civil war in Syria. They did not mention the 1,800 Palestinians languishing in Syrian government prisons and detention facilities for many years. The Palestinian faction leaders had nothing to say about the 620 Palestinians who have died as a result of torture while in Syrian detention. Of course, they also chose to ignore the appeals of the families and relatives of 333 Palestinians who have gone missing in Syria during the civil war.

Needless to say, the leaders of the Palestinian factions did not hear about the case of Shadi Amareen, a Palestinian from the town of the Syrian town of Duma, who died under torture on October 11 while in Syrian custody. Amareen, according to his family, was arrested by Syrian security forces four years ago for unknown reasons.

Some may argue that the Palestinian faction leaders are frightened that raising the issue of the atrocities against their people would bring retribution by the regime of Bashar Assad. They know that the moment they speak out against the crimes of the Syrians against Palestinians they would be signing their own death warrants.

The Palestinian faction leaders also know that if they alienate the Assad regime, they would be fortunate if they were only thrown into prison together with the hundreds of Palestinians already being held by the Syrians. If they were unfortunate, these leaders would be added to the statistic of more than 4,000 Palestinians killed in Syria during the past nine years.

It is one thing to fail your people by stealing the money that the international community sends to them. But it is another level of unacceptable indifference to turn a blind eye to atrocities committed against your own people by an Arab country.

For the families of the Palestinians killed in Syria, holding new elections is not going to compensate or console them for the loss of their beloved ones. Similarly, the 1,800 Palestinians held in Syrian prisons could not care less about elections or rejecting US President Donald Trump's plan for peace in the Middle East, which has been strongly condemned by Abbas and all Palestinian faction leaders.

By praising the Syrian government for "achieving security and stability," the Fatah leaders are actually sending the message to Assad that he can continue to kill, imprison and torture Palestinians by the thousands.

By holding meetings in Damascus without discussing how to help their beleaguered people in Syria, Palestinian leaders are sending the message that thwarting peace plans and condemning Arabs for making peace with Israel take precedence over the safety of their people. In short, this visit marks another star "failure" of the Palestinian leadership.

Why the Polls May be Wrong Again - G. Murphy Donovan

 by G. Murphy Donovan

Can enough ordinary voters see through the hype, smog, and distortions to make a pragmatic choice that preserves what’s left of the best of America?

Polls and pundits were wrong across the board prior to the 2016 presidential election.

Indeed, the anti-Trump spin was so universal with pollsters and journalists in the last presidential election, that even three and a half years later, it’s hard to believe that there wasn’t a conspiracy to cook the books to discourage Trump voters.

With another election pending, pollsters seem to be having hot flashes of déjà vu. Donald Trump is again universally cast as the dark horse. But this year there is some clear evidence to explain why polls and media alike may be misreading or misrepresenting the numbers.

Flyover Phantoms

Pollsters agree on one thing: rural voters are notoriously hard to reach for surveys. Explanations are self-evident. Blue collar America, the “deplorables,” are still working. Urban Americans, government employees, and the public schools are on paid leave for the COVID epidemic. One in four Americans, liberal to a fault, works for government or academia at all levels.

The usual urban suspects may be overrepresented in polls. Biden voters, largely an urban demographic, are thus still at home; answering the phone and available to skew the curve.

Campus Apathy

If the COVID-19 urban/state shutdowns are a conspiracy to smear Trump, it might backfire on campus. Teens and twenty-somethings, even in a good year, are a liberal yet apathetic voting demographic. With school in indefinite recess, the campus will not be much of a player this year for rallying the Biden/Harris snowflake vote.

The Black Revolt

African Americans since the mid-20th century have been a reliable demographic for Democrats; ironically the party of slavery. Something changed in 2020.

Blacks are registering as independents this year in unprecedented numbers, not good news for liberals and Democrats. Biden’s patronizing attitude towards blacks didn’t help either, but other omens are not good. Twenty-seven black Republicans are running for Congress this year. Further, the noisiest and most visible down-ballot candidates are black. Burgess Owens in Utah and Kim Klacik in Maryland are examples.

Candace Owens is not running for office yet, but surely, she is the new face of parallel pragmatic black politics and polemics.

The Republican Closet

A substantial number of  sensible ordinary Americans, especially those near cities, would not deign to show visible Trump support; no yard signs and no bumper stickers. Such target tokens would invite retribution from liberal thugs, BLM, and Antifa activists already in the streets. Closet Trump voters are keeping a low profile as the cancel culture rages because they know that the riot and vandalism demographic will not be restrained in blue states any time soon.

There are no metrics, save the vote, to count those quiet if not silent and determined Trump supporters.

The best revenge is a win.

Motives and Methods

American political polling is the most dishonest honor system on the planet.

We are never told how many calls must be made to get a response, nor is there any way to gauge the honesty of respondents -- self-described Democrats, Republicans, or Independents. When we don’t know about the unresponsive, we know even less about apathy, or outright hostility towards polls themselves.

Facts omitted are seldom considered.

Clearly, pollsters themselves are an urban demographic who come to the table with all the bias we see in other Beltway institutions. Urban media censors, of which the polling industry is a subset, now includes the Presidential Debate Commission and the dot.com empires. The ranks of those able and willing to cook the books are now legion.

Big Brother is clearly a liberal urban Democrat.

It’s a very safe bet that the same folks who wouldn’t dare put out a Trump sign might not be willing to talk to, or be candid with, some smarmy pollster that is very likely to be a swamp creature.

Forecasts and Prophesies

Propagandists and cynical ad men know that the bovine mass will follow the cow with the bell. Herd sentiments are not decisive in an election, but they are relevant.

Most live polls with limited numbers and large margins of error are pushing an agenda. Nationwide popularity polls are an example, irrelevant because a president is elected state-by-state through the Electoral College.

Real democracy plays by the rules.

Most major pollsters are associated with one or more media outlets. Partisan news organizations are selling prophesy, not forecasts. Propaganda is probably the polite description of much that passes for political news in the last decade.

If we are honest, however, we must admit that the American left has hit a trifecta in the 2020 propaganda wars. Liberals dominate a single, if not monolithic, narrative pushed by the press, broadcast networks, and social platforms across the internet.

Can enough ordinary voters see through the hype, smog, and distortions to make a pragmatic choice that preserves what’s left of the best of America?

Among many other things, the wisdom of crowds is on trial next month.

Joe Biden tweets out that America is 'an idea' and 'we've never lived up to it' - Monica Showalter

 by Monica Showalter

With political ads like these, who needs political enemies?

How's this for the most offensive political ad of the year?

Here it is, kid you not, straight from Joe Biden and his jackass party maw:

Note that this isn't from his enemies, his party, his creepy allies, something that occurred years ago, or some kind of foreign disinfomation, this is straight from Joe, put out there on Twitter to entice Americans to give him their votes, in his big final push to squeeze the last of them.

This is Joe in front of us, expressing himself in all his glory.

There's a heckuva lot of unpack here in this small space of a tweet, at least three doozies going out like stink bombs to voters.

Start with the first:

So America is "an idea." Like Antifa is "an idea," as the far left and its allies like to say.

Like Antifa, it's a bad thing yet somehow it doesn't exist.

And the millions and millions of people attempting to come live here are just looking for an idea. Last we heard, they were looking for a place, one that featured rule of law, money with value, a passport with muscle, a day without a government shakedown, and maybe an actual chance to make something of oneself instead of live life as a worker ant on some 'collective' under the grip of some dictator, or be the face in the Orwell's 'boot on a human face.' Ideas, in fact, are free. Back in Phnom Penh, Tegucigalpa, Kinshasa and Caracas, no need to come here to get one.

It's a repulsive statement, because America is a physical place, an actual reality, and Biden's claim that it's an "idea" is no different than claiming Antifa is an idea, is to claim that the place, despite the evidence, doesn't really exist. Antifa in fact is a physical group with an organized power structure and an agenda of hate and destruction. Antifa likes to stay hidden because they are so disgusting and vile to normal people. Now by relegating America to the status of 'idea,' Biden seems to want America to be hidden, too.

Who the hell is inspired by this kind of claptrap? We all know that America is a lot more than an empty idea.

And speaking of this airy vaporware so-called idea, Biden gets even worse when he broadcasts: "We've never lived up to it.." making the insulting claim even worse.

Seriously, he thinks we have fallen down on the job of, what, being Americans? We don't do 'American' right? Because we are awful sinners, woeful deplorables, and really, someone else needs to do the job for us? We're in need of redemption and salvation from a pervy groping plagiarizing 47-year-do-nothing-but-pocket-line ward-heel politican ... like him?

Get me the barf bag.

All the rich social capital and atmosphere of trust that Alexis de Tocqueville wrote about, all the Midwestern and Great Plains "niceness" that so fascinates us in the coastal blue cities, all of the nation's the tremendous capacity for progress and reform, a stream of it in technology, government, science, medicine, farming and more, unmatched by any nation on earth, the American dominance in arts, science, technology, military prowess, agriculture, and freedom .... just kinda floated in to the U.S. by accident and had nothing to do with this nation being America? The huddled masses, high seas boat people, and fence jumpers on the southern border, were all sadly deluded because there's no difference between life in Cuba or Belarus or the DRC and life in the United States?

It's disgusting.

Presumably, he's trying to guilt-trip the U.S. voters into the Marxist-trained Black Lives Matter perspective that America was fatally flawed from the start and needs to be done away with, the same cookie-cutter perspective of Marxist goons like Castro, Chavez, Stalin, Lenin, the mullahs, and Xi.

And third, notice his use of the word 'we' as in 'we've failed to live up to it.'

Who is this 'we' you speak of, Kemosabe?

He's beating all of America with the racist stick, even though entrenched racism, such as it existed in the pre-Civil Rights years, was his own Democratic Party's invention. There's a reason Martin Luther King, Jr. remained a lifelong Republican. He'd now like to socialize the blame, and privatize the light and power.

For a machine pol with a racist past of his own, this is pretty rich, blaming the entire country for the deeds of his own party and hoping no one will notice his personal record, either. Seems his exhortation to Black people that if any Black person doesn't vote for him "You ain't black," didn't work for him, so now he's making the whole country a nation of racists.

Had enough?

The most diabolical of Trump operatives couldn't come up with a negative ad against Biden that approaches one this bad. No wonder Biden hides in his basement. The more he speaks, the less there is to like. You'd think any fool would know that you don't insult the voters you are courting. But in Biden's case, there's no fool like an old fool.
