The Bidens’ Existential Threats to the American Rule of Law - Victor Davis Hanson

by Victor Davis Hanson

A sordid world of serial lies.

President Joe Biden, the Biden grifting conglomerate, the Department of Justice, and the FBI under its fourth consecutive weaponized director, are in danger of subverting the American system of law.

They are in various ways undermining the tradition of self-reported income tax computation and voluntary compliance.

Our tax institutions, of course, are based on the real deterrence of a disinterested, uncompromised Internal Revenue Service. Without it, the income revenues of the United States are existentially threatened.

So far, any negative reputation of the IRS has rested with natural complaints that it is too zealous in hounding out American taxpayers in all walks of life. Or citizens often object that the IRS must enforce a tax code that is innately unfair.

But not until now has the IRS itself ever been under a shadow of such corruption.

Has it been in the past ever found to have applied so blatantly and deliberately one standard of tax enforcement to elites and quite another to everyday Americans?

Again, if that charge of unequal treatment in tax compliance were to prove true, then Humpy-Dumpty like, the entire American system of revenue collection would shatter.

In other words, millions of Americans might shrug, “If Joe Biden, President of the United States and his criminally minded son, can get away with avoiding millions of dollars in taxes, then should not I, a nobody, at least have the right to avoid hundreds of dollars in taxes?”

So the Bidens, along with Attorney General Merrick Garland and the FBI, are treading on dangerous ground in imperiling a hallowed American tradition — one vital to the very governance and operation of the United States.

The current president of the United States, despite his monotonous calls for the well-off to “pay their fair share,” has likely deliberately connived to avoid taxes on sizable amounts of unreported taxable foreign income.

In the case of his son, “likely” is an unneeded adverb.

By Hunter Biden’s recent own admissions and corroborating evidence, he seems not only to have schemed to hide millions of dollars in foreign shake-down profiteering, but to have set up all sorts of paywalls, firewalls, and phony “loans” to ensure auditors would take years to unravel his illegal schemes — until well after the expiration of the statute of limitations. And his criminality succeeded so well that he has permanently gotten off not paying thousands of dollars in overdue taxes.

President Joe Biden has serially lied that he did not know anything of his son’s business dealings.

That assertion is contrary to photographic evidence of him with Hunter Biden’s business associates, sworn statements from at least one of Hunter Biden’s former business partners, clear evidence from Hunter’s own laptop, and now recent disclosures from FBI documents and whistleblower testimonies. And yet the president continues to lie, and the media continues to shrug that dads often do such things.

It is almost beyond belief, but increasingly likely, that Hunter Biden in the past conducted his illicit business over the phone in the presence, and with the complicity, of the current president himself. And the full trove of evidence is still trickling in.

This sordid scenario is part of the larger Biden criminal landscape. Joe and Hunter may well have received $10 million from Chinese consortia for doing nothing other than monetizing Joe Biden’s vice-presidency and his apparent then trajectory to the presidency.

There is no longer any doubt that Hunter Biden received fabulous amounts of money from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. That lucre was again based on nothing other than the willingness of his own father, now the current president, to be directed to where and how to employ his own purchased influence.

Accordingly, Joe Biden is on record boasting of his own power to fire a Ukrainian prosecutor — through personal threats of withholding congressional approved U.S. foreign aid to Ukraine.

Biden was furious that Ukrainian auditors were probing too deeply into matters that now are increasingly clear to have been central to his own family’s nefarious influence peddling.

Note well — the U.S. House of Representatives impeached a former president on two grounds: one, an allegation that former President Donald Trump used his office to threaten to delay (not to cancel) Ukrainian military aid; and, two, that Trump did so to harm a potential political rival in the next election.

Joe Biden has now trumped Trump on both counts.

One, he is involved in criminal enterprises with his entire family, whose shake-down payouts from Ukrainian moneyed interests depended on precisely the current president’s past willingness to use his then vice-presidential office to strong-arm Ukrainian officials.

Two, Biden did not so much just seek to uncover wrongdoing by his likely presidential rival, as have him indicted by his own justice department for alleged violations of presidential records statutes.

Yet unauthorized removal of classified government records is a crime that Biden himself by his own admission also has committed — and for far longer a time, and perhaps involving far greater volumes of archival material.

Critics of the Bidens have long been puzzled about the opulent spending habits and costly acquisitions of Joe and Jill Biden, Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, and other lesser family satellites on the clan’s dole.

Such wonderment about the abyss between lifestyles led and taxes reported apparently reached the highest echelons of the IRS. Its special investigating teams recommended numerous felony indictments of Hunter Biden for conspiratorial tax fraud. It requested in vain to extend their investigations to Joe Biden himself.

We now also have good reason to believe that Biden’s Attorney General Garland, both himself and through his subordinates, used their powers unlawfully to sidetrack Justice Department attorneys from legitimately and fully investigating Joe Biden, and/or to delay and obfuscate the full prosecution of Hunter Biden.

The result is that Hunter Biden successfully used his family influence to escape taxes on hundreds of thousands of dollars of disguised income through manipulating statute-of-limitations laws.

For years, he has also escaped paying taxes, by phony claims of loans, on other known millions of dollars in income that were still likely only a portion of all his foreign quid-pro-quo revenue schemes.

Note, however, the greatest damage the Bidens have done to this nation.

Joe Biden’s own past lucrative financial dealings with suspect Chinese interests, with connections to the ruling Chinese communist party, cast a shadow over current American foreign policy itself.

The American people are bewildered over why the Biden administration is appeasing the Chinese government. It keeps insisting, contrary to evidence, that bilateral relations are in great shape — after successful and unapologetic Chinese overt espionage efforts to send a spy balloon across sensitive areas of the United States.

China has defiantly stonewalled any request to explain how and why a porous Chinese virology lab incompetently let escape a gain-of-function virus, a virtual bioweapon, that killed over a million Americans and sickened over 300 million.

Its jets now play chicken with our own in the skies above the South China Sea. And its ships do the same with our vessels in the same environs.

It threatens to escalate to nuclear weapons if the United States should protect its de facto ally Taiwan from envisioned Chinese aggression.

All the above is in addition to years of Chinese copyright infringement, patent violations, manipulation of Chinese currency, trade dumping, and systematic espionage operations throughout sensitive areas of the U.S. military and general economy.

Again, Biden’s response is increasingly to downplay these mounting aggressions in direct proportion to their increased frequency.

The “why” of that bizarre exculpation raises the question of how exactly would it be possible so dramatically to influence, or “get to” a U.S. president. The answer may be buried in thousands of suppressed government documents and the data of now canceled investigations.

Note again: America in vain recently spent $40 million and 22-months on a special prosecutor to pursue, on no evidence (but relying on plenty of disinformation, fraud, and criminality) the smear that Trump was a Russian puppet, and his (demonstrably tough) treatment of the Russians was supposed proof of his collusion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In sum, every American now knows that Trump would have gone to prison for several years for even attempting, much less getting away with, the fraudulent tax avoidance schemes of Hunter Biden, who likely will never spend a single day in jail.

The IRS does not give passes for divots. The law treats the attempt or preempted scheme to violate it, almost as severely as the actuality of successfully breaking tax laws.

Again, all this will not, cannot, must not stand.

We can no longer have a United States if its president almost weekly demonstrably lies with impunity about his relationships with the Biden family’s nefarious foreign business interests.

You can no longer have an American nation, if the son of the president of the United States successfully connives to rake in millions for his extended family by selling his father’s influence to foreign governments — a gambit that may currently affect the foreign policy of the United States. Adding insult to injury, Hunter Biden is now a White House fixture, as if the closer he clings to the nexus of American power and influence, the more likely he will continue to be exempted from American law.

There is no such thing as the America we once knew if the Bidens and their surrogates with impunity used the levers of the FBI and the Department of Justice to cover up, and escape prosecution of, crimes that would otherwise have sent any citizen under such liability to prison for several years.

This unfolding Biden melodrama has the potential to destroy the current presidency.

It will tarnish for generations the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the IRS.

And yet it will not die because the U.S. itself will not die, and so the scandal eventually will convict Joe, Hunter, and Jim Biden of serious felonies.

Finally, unless radical changes occur, the unapologetic Biden nefariousness will discredit permanently an obsequious and biased media that knowingly chose not to report on what they equally knew were historic transgressions against their United States.

CDC admits not including diagnostic codes showing COVID vax as 'cause' on some death certificates - Greg Piper

by Greg Piper

Georgia-based agency's response to Just the News will be incorporated into grand jury petition to investigate its COVID statistical practices, death-certificate analyst says.

The CDC's explanation for leaving certain diagnosis codes off Minnesota death certificates that cite COVID-19 vaccines as a cause of death, allegedly hiding vaccine injuries in federal records, shows "intent to deceive," according to a person who helped analyze the death certificates for the Brownstone Institute, a think tank that challenges the scientific basis for COVID conventional wisdom and policy.

John Beaudoin Sr., who is suing Massachusetts for submitting "fraudulent" death certificates to the feds falsely labeling COVID as a cause of death, says CDC spokesperson Kristen Nordlund's comments on the matter to Just the News will be incorporated in an "affidavit to petition for a grand jury investigation of the CDC" in its home of Georgia.

Beaudoin's law school expelled him for refusing its vaccine mandate, which he says was based on federal COVID guidance devised in part from Massachusetts death certificate data.

The suit includes a 123-page exhibit analyzing death certificates Beaudoin claims either wrongly omit vaccine-induced deaths or falsely attribute them to COVID. And in May he requested a hearing in response to the state's motion to dismiss his January amended complaint. His website includes legal filings.

The Minnesota analysis is part of three years of questions about the reliability and integrity of federal and state governments' COVID-related statistics.

The New York Times found up to 90% of COVID-positive tests officially recorded in Massachusetts, New York and Nevada in summer 2020 were based on SARS-CoV-2 viral loads too small to be infectious.

Oregon lawmakers similarly sought a federal grand jury investigation into COVID statistical manipulation nearly two years ago, claiming the Center for Disease Control and Prevention employed a "double-standard exclusively for COVID-19 data collection" that inflated cases and deaths starting early in the pandemic.

One of them told Just the News that Beaudoin is assisting their efforts, which are now pending before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. "I think this type of fraud is extended across all boundaries, all states," Oregon state GOP Sen. Dennis Linthicum said.

"Vaccination is not a disease or cause of death, so simple mention of the vaccine or vaccination without mention of adverse effects will not get coded" on the death certificates cited in Brownstone's analysis, Nordlund wrote in an email.

"COVID-19 vaccines are undergoing the most intense safety monitoring in U.S. history," she said. "To date, CDC has not detected any unusual or unexpected patterns for deaths following immunization that would indicate that COVID vaccines are causing or contributing to deaths, outside of the nine confirmed TTS [thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome] deaths following the Janssen [Johnson & Johnson] vaccine."

Nordlund's claims "do not comport with truth, which can be shown by the Massachusetts data," Beaudoin said. "She trapped herself."

The CDC is "essentially trying to claim that a coroner who writes 'covid vaccine 8 hours before death'" in the cause field "means to convey that the vaccine had no side effects and *definitely* did not contribute to the death in any way," Aaron Hertzberg, who collaborated with Beaudoin and wrote the Brownstone analysis, wrote in an email. "The absurdity of such a position is self-evident."

He published the first of a planned two-part response late Friday incorporating the agency's known responses to news media, which Hertzberg deemed "logically incoherent" and "inconsistent with the CDC's own standards" at minimum.

(Just the News received a longer CDC statement than did Minnesota's AlphaNews, adding the paragraph about the "most intense safety monitoring" in U.S. history and lack of "unusual or unexpected patterns for deaths.")

Hertzberg and Beaudoin obtained every death certificate in Minnesota going back to 2015, the analysis states. Doctors fill out the text descriptions but the CDC assigns the ICD-10 codes, either via algorithm or manually if the algorithm can't nail down the code.

The duo found nine that explicitly mention COVID vaccines as a cause, which is "exceedingly rare … because of widespread medical establishment denialism of vaccine adverse side effects," but seven of them were missing the most applicable codes – "other complications following immunization" and "viral vaccines."

Of the seven, one had a COVID infection code and noted the person was infected several months earlier but received their second vaccine dose 10 hours before death, illustrating the "naked double standards" in code assignment, the analysis states.

Others mention specifics including date of vaccination, dose, brand and possible side effects including "felt sick," cardiac arrest and heart attack, the last of which was coded as a gunshot wound despite the notes specifying "COVID booster."

The two death certificates with a relevant code cited adverse events following COVID vaccination. On one, the code is cited as the "underlying" cause of death, suggesting "the CDC was trapped and could not avoid putting it on without fundamentally rewriting the death certificate," the analysis says.

Nordlund had a different explanation.

"The examples in the article for which the adverse effects codes are included are those that mention adverse or side effects of the vaccine," language that's missing from those without the codes, she said.

The Oregon lawmakers, Linthicum and fellow GOP state Sen. Kim Thatcher, and naturopath Henry Ealy went to court to compel grand-jury impaneling a year ago after striking out with every U.S. attorney and Justice Department, but the suit was dismissed for lack of legal standing last fall.

"Private citizens are not permitted to serve in the role of prosecutors by presenting evidence of alleged crimes to a grand jury," U.S. District Judge Marco Hernandez wrote. The 9th Circuit accepted their appeal but hasn't scheduled oral argument yet.

Linthicum said they are finalizing their brief. "Our goal is not to prosecute," which is the function of the grand jury, "and we have provided amble [sic] documentation regarding agency malfeasance," he wrote.

DOJ notified the appeals court June 28 of a recent Supreme Court decision that found Texas and Louisiana lacked standing to compel the Department of Homeland Security to arrest "certain non-citizens upon their release from prison … or entry of a final order of removal," as they argued federal law requires. Its reasoning applies to the grand-jury petition, DOJ said.

The Dutch coalition government just collapsed - Andrea Widburg

by Andrea Widburg

Much of the problem clearly comes from climate change attacks on farmland, but the media want you to focus only on right-wing anti-immigrant attitudes.

It didn’t get much play in the American press, but something significant happened in Holland: The Dutch coalition government collapsed. This is the same government that sought to seize 30% of Holland’s farms in the name of decreasing “nitrogen” and slowing “climate change.” The opposition to destroying Holland’s agricultural sector was a significant factor in Holland’s March elections and is an ongoing problem, but outlets such as the AP and the New York Times want everyone to know that anti-immigrant right-wingers are the sole problem in Holland.

Last summer, people began to be aware of something very peculiar going on in the Netherlands: The government was waging war against farmers. Holland’s farmland is one of the great wonders of the world, for the industrious Dutch, over the centuries, laboriously created this land from what was once salt water from the Atlantic Ocean and Zuiderzee. This led Holland to become the world’s second-largest exporter of agricultural food products. It is, in other words, one of the bulwarks against world famine.

Holland’s gift to the world didn’t matter to a government invested in the climate change fraud. It announced that the country had to reduce its nitrogen output by 30-70% to comply with EU dictates. This would require confiscating up to 30% of Holland’s farms, especially the ones with livestock. Adding insult to injury, the Dutch government planned to use the confiscated land for “asylum seekers” (i.e., illegal immigrants).

Image: Dutch farmers protest the government. Twitter screen grab.

The Dutch farmers responded to this plan with massive protests. In March, enough Dutch voters sided with the farmers to make the farmer’s newly created political party, the Boer-Burger Beweging (“BBB”), the largest single party in the Dutch Parliament. Nevertheless, the weirdness of the multi-party Parliamentary systems that dominate in Europe meant that the coalition of leftist parties was still sufficient to create a completely dysfunctional coalition of conservatives, farmers, climate changistas, and socialists.

Inevitably, the coalition fell apart (and this is the AP’s version):

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte visited the king Saturday to hand in the resignation of his four-party coalition, setting the deeply divided Netherlands on track for a general election later this year.

[snip]

The vexed issue of reining in migration that has troubled countries across Europe for years was the final stumbling block that brought down Rutte's government Friday night, exposing the deep ideological differences between the four parties that made up the uneasy coalition.

Rutte was trying to crack down on illegal immigration, which offended the left side of the coalition. However, that’s only part of the story because, over the past few weeks, the same government was still waging war on the farmers in the name of “climate change”:

The Hague, the seat of the Dutch government, declared a state of emergency, or “noodbevel” which would be more correctly translated as an emergency order, to prevent farmers from driving their tractors into the city to protest the government’s mandatory fertilizer reduction targets.

The organisers of Thursday’s protest, the Farmers Defence Force, said the state of emergency was a way to quash their democratic rights and freedom of assembly.

Republicans to Blinken: Act Against China’s Organ Harvesting - Susan Crabtree

by Susan Crabtree

In their letter to Blinken, Steel and Dunn expressed deep concern about the CCP’s organ harvesting of minorities, including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Muslims, and Christians who have been “wrongfully detained in China.”

Rep. Michelle Steel, a California Republican whose parents fled communist North Korea and raised her in Japan, says it’s past time for the federal government to take action to prevent U.S. complicity or even assistance in China’s gruesome organ-harvesting practices.

Steel and GOP Rep. Neal Dunn of Florida this week called on Secretary of State Antony Blinken to take immediate action to prevent anyone participating in China’s $1 billion forced organ harvesting industry from receiving legal entry into the United States or to revoke visas for those already in the U.S. who are linked to the gruesome practice.

“My parents fled from Communist rule, so I’ve always been working on these issues,” Steel told RealClearPolitics in an interview. “Medical doctors who have participated in organ harvesting or are involved in some way shouldn’t be allowed to come to the United States … we don’t want to train these doctors.”

In their letter to Blinken, Steel and Dunn expressed deep concern about the CCP’s organ harvesting of minorities, including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Muslims, and Christians who have been “wrongfully detained in China.”

“Evidence suggests that some medical practitioners in China are forcing organ harvesting procedures on the most vulnerable populations in China, and those who perform these acts have no place in the United States,” they wrote.

Human rights experts estimate that 60,000 to 100,000 forced organ transplants are occurring annually in China, with 8,000 a year in just one hospital. Nina Shea, the director of the Center for Religious Freedom at the Hudson Institute, has criticized the American transplant sector for openly supporting China’s transplant doctors and industry even as they adhere to medical ethics at home.

“American institutions are documented to have trained 344 of China’s transplant doctors,” Shea wrote in an article calling for a greater U.S. response to China’s forced organ harvesting.

Steel and Dunn, both members of the House Select Committee on China, asked Blinken if he shares their outrage and whether the agency is currently investigating medical practitioners applying for visas in the United States for ties to China’s organ-harvesting industry.

The inquiry comes as the Biden administration continues its efforts to repair its strained relations with China, which are at their lowest level in decades over disputes related to Beijing’s aggression against Taiwan, Chinese spying, technology, and various trade disputes. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is in Beijing this week, scheduled to meet with China’s No. 2 leader, Premier Li Qiang. Just last month, Blinken spent two days in Beijing meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping and top foreign policy officials after canceling a diplomatic trip earlier this year amid fallout over a Chinese spy balloon traversing the United States.

The two Republican members of Congress specifically want to know if the State Department is keeping track of how many medical practitioners from China have applied for visas in the U.S. over the last five years, how many visas have been granted among this pool of applicants, and how many were denied. They also asked whether Blinken has a plan to prevent the CCP’s organ-harvesting crimes against humanity.

A State Department spokesperson said the agency is “deeply concerned” by reports of forced organ harvesting targeting members of religious and ethnic minority groups detained in China. But the spokesperson declined to say whether State had responded or plan to respond to the inquiries, citing a general policy against discussing congressional correspondence. “The United States continues to call on the [People’s Republic of China] government to cease its depraved actions and to act consistent with its human rights commitments and all relevant medical and ethical best practices, including acting in the best interest of the patients, informed consent and respect for personhood,” the spokesperson told RCP in an emailed statement.

This official, who asked not to be named, confirmed that the United States is actively seeking to prevent individuals “who are or have been involved in human rights violations and abuses” from securing safe haven in the country and cited “a number of visa ineligibility grounds” that could potentially apply to individuals who have been involved in “coerced” organ harvesting.

“Visa records are confidential under U.S. law, therefore, we cannot discuss the details of individual cases,” the spokesperson said.

Steel and Dunn are pressing the State Department for answers amid growing pressure in the U.S. and abroad to take steps to ensure that responsible nations and medical institutions disentangle themselves from any involvement in or financial support of China’s organ supply chains.

In late March, the House passed a bipartisan anti-organ harvesting bill spearheaded by GOP Rep. Chris Smith, a longtime human rights champion and chair of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China. The measure would impose sanctions on anyone funding or supporting China’s organ-harvesting industry. Sens. Tom Cotton, an Arkansas Republican, and Chris Coons, a Delaware Democrat, have introduced a similar bill, now wending its way through the Senate.

Key members of Congress have long tried to expose China’s gruesome organ harvesting practices. The House Foreign Affairs Committee held its first full hearing on the CCP’s forced organ transplants in 2001, and the practice was raised in hearings as far back as 1996.

Congress, the State Department, and the U.S. medical establishment all share an institutional reluctance to confront China over these mass atrocities because the potential implications are so far-reaching and range from international trade to Taiwan.

But a growing international body of evidence is increasingly making the practice difficult for nations to ignore.

Last year, the American Journal of Transplantation, the top transplant publication in the world, published an article by two leading researchers on a particularly grisly practice. The pair uncovered compelling evidence that Chinese surgeons are removing organs from prisoners who are still alive, a shocking violation of the internationally accepted “dead-donor” organ rule barring extractions before donors have been declared “brain dead.”

In 2019, the China Tribunal, a non-governmental commission in the U.K., investigated accusations of organ harvesting in China, holding hearings and weighing evidence from dozens of witnesses and experts. The Tribunal, led by Sir Geoffrey Nice, a world-renowned lawyer who prosecuted Slobodan Milosevic at the Hague, concluded that forced organ harvesting has taken place on a significant scale throughout China for years. It also learned that instead of curbing the practice in response to worldwide scrutiny, the CCP expanded it from jailed Falun Gong followers to China’s Uyghur Muslims.

It found that the CCP’s execution of prisoners of conscience for their organs constitutes crimes against humanity and said the sheer scale of the transplant tourism industry in China suggests that prisoners of conscience have been “killed to order” for their organs.

“Stealing these organs is a gross human rights violation,” Steel said. “The whole world needs to know what’s going on in China.”

'America's Darkest Secret': Sex Trafficking, Child Abuse and the Biden Administration - Uzay Bulut

by Uzay Bulut

"It is a terrible thing when you blow the whistle to try to save children and you're retaliated against for trying to help. The HHS [The United States Department of Health and Human Services] did everything they could to keep all of this silent." — Tara Lee Rodas, testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, April 26, 2023.

  • Currently, at least 85,000 children are believed to be missing.

  • "Whether intentional or not, it can be argued that the US Government has become the middleman in a large scale, multi-billion-dollar, child trafficking operation run by bad actors seeking to profit off the lives of children.... Realizing that we were not offering children the American dream, but instead putting them into modern-day slavery with wicked overlords was a terrible revelation.... They threatened me with an investigation. They... took my badge. It is a terrible thing when you blow the whistle to try to save children and you're retaliated against for trying to help. The HHS [The United States Department of Health and Human Services] did everything they could to keep all of this silent." — Tara Lee Rodas, testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, April 26, 2023.

  • "Over the last two years, this country has become an international hub for child trafficking. And the US government is behind it. Under Biden, hundreds of thousands of children have come into this country illegally. Once they get here, most are sold for sex, used for cheap labor, or forced to join gangs." — Rachel Campos-Duffy, Fox News, April 26, 2023.

  • "In April 2021, when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott learned of allegations of abuse of unaccompanied minors in a federal facility in San Antonio, he said, 'The Biden administration is presiding over the abuse of children.' He also called on the administration to shut these facilities down. Instead, the administration has only expanded them without communicating with state or local authorities. Local communities are not told how long the minors will be there, or where they will go when released and with no concern of the impact to local citizens. I am requesting that Congress launch a full investigation into the federal agencies responsible for approving the contracts for these facilities." — Sheena Rodriguez, president of the Alliance for a Safe Texas, testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, April 26, 2023.

  • "The mass migration crisis instigated by the Biden administration's misguided immigration policies has caused incalculable harm.... These migrants were enticed by these policies to... cross the border illegally, led by criminal smuggling and trafficking organizations, and enabled by government agencies and contractors.... The Biden administration has implemented policies that incentivize the illegal entry of unaccompanied alien children on a massive scale, to the profit of criminal smugglers and traffickers, even with full knowledge of the risks that such policies will endanger the safety and well-being of the migrant children. Some supporters of these policies have defended them on the belief that they are aiding the reunification of families, providing a safe haven from difficult living environments in their home countries, and even benefiting US employers. On the contrary, I submit that there is no possible rationalization for policies that have facilitated the abuse and exploitation of child migrants on such a large scale for so many years. There is no possible humanitarian or economic motive that could justify or make up for the damage that has been done to the victims by the smugglers, traffickers, abusive sponsors, and even family members who participated in these dreadful arrangements." — Jessica M. Vaughan, director of Policy Studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, April 26, 2023.

  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described what is happening as "effectively the largest human smuggling operation in American history."

  • "This is criminal... The FBI needs to be involved. They need to go find every single one of these kids — 85,000 or more — who are lost. The FBI needs to find them. We need to have an investigation by the FBI into the Homeland Security Department, into HHS to figure out who is facilitating these smuggling rings, are they deliberately not doing their job, are they deliberately or negligently turning these kids over to smugglers? We need to find out. The FBI needs to get on it and launch a full-scale investigation right now." — Senator Josh Hawley (R- MO), Fox News, April 26, 2023.

  • "To solve the problem, Congress must change the immigration laws and rein in the executive policies that are incentivizing the mass illegal migration of both adults and minors." What is needed is "more opportunity for state and local governments to investigate and penalize human trafficking and the illegal migration, human smuggling, identity fraud, and illegal employment." — Jessica M. Vaughan, testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement, April 26, 2023.

The criminal practice of trafficking and abusing hundreds of thousands of migrant children who cross the southern border is now, thanks to the open-border policy of the Biden Administration, apparently "normal" inside the US. Pictured: A Texas National Guardswoman speaks to three unaccompanied children who arrived on the banks of the Rio Grande after crossing the US-Mexico border in Roma, Texas on July 9, 2021. (Photo by Paul Ratje/AFP via Getty Images)

The criminal practice of trafficking and abusing hundreds of thousands of migrant children who cross the southern border is now, thanks to the open-border policy of the Biden Administration, apparently "normal" inside the US:

"According to Customs and Border Protection, since January 2021 when Biden took the oath of office, there have been 5,118,661 encounters with illegal immigrants along the southern border."

These numbers do not include reports that "at least 1.2 million illegal immigrants," or "gotaways," who "were confirmed to have unlawfully crossed the U.S.-Mexico border."

"The actual number of illegal immigrants... [is] unknown. It could be double the number of known gotaways, it could be three times worse, or more. We just don't know...."

Currently, at least 85,000 children are believed to be missing.

According to Customs and Border Protection statistics,

"[T]he number of UACs [Unaccompanied Alien Children] who arrive at the border has swelled from 33,239 in fiscal year 2020 to more than 146,000 in fiscal year 2021 and 152,000 in fiscal year 2022. So far in fiscal year 2023, there have been more than 70,000 encounters of unaccompanied children."

Many of those children are raped, used for forced labor, and forced to undertake brutal jobs ostensibly to "work off" their debt by the criminal cartels who reportedly now control the Mexican side of the border and brought the children in.

According to Tara Lee Rodas, a Health and Human Services whistleblower, in testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement on April 26:

"Whether intentional or not, it can be argued that the US Government has become the middleman in a large scale, multi-billion-dollar, child trafficking operation run by bad actors seeking to profit off the lives of children."

She described the practice as "modern-day slavery".

"Today, children will work overnight shifts at slaughterhouses, factories, restaurants to pay their debts to smugglers and traffickers. Today, children will be sold for sex. Today, children will call a hotline to report the are being abused, neglected, and trafficked.....

"I must confess; I knew nothing about their suffering until 2021 when I volunteered to help the Biden Administration with the crisis at the Southern Border. As part of Operation Artemis, I was deployed to the Pomona Fairplex Emergency Intake Site in California to help the HHS [Department of Health and Human Services] Office of Refugee Resettlement reunite children with sponsors in the US.

"I thought I was going to help place children in loving homes. Instead, I discovered that children are being trafficked through a sophisticated network that begins with being recruited in home country, smuggled to the US border, and ends when ORR [Office of Refugee Resettlement] delivers a child to a Sponsors – some sponsors are criminals and traffickers and members of Transnational Criminal Organizations. Some sponsors view children as commodities and assets to be used for earning income - this is why we are witnessing an explosion of labor trafficking.

".... I want to see the children protected, so I want to tell you some what I witnessed at the Pomona Fairplex:

  • I saw vulnerable indigenous children from Guatemala who speak Mayan dialects and can't speak Spanish. That means they can't ask for help in English and they can't ask for help in Spanish. These children become captive to their Sponsors.
  • I've sat with Case Managers as they cried retelling horrific things that were done to children on the journey.
  • I saw apartment buildings where 20, 30 & 40 unaccompanied children have been released.
  • I saw sponsors trying to simultaneously sponsor children from multiple ORR sites.
  • I saw sponsors using multiple addresses to obtain sponsorships of children.
  • I saw numerous cases of children in debt bondage and the child knew they had to stay with the sponsor until the debt was paid.

"Realizing that we were not offering children the American dream, but instead putting them into modern-day slavery with wicked overlords was a terrible revelation."

Rodas added that after she went public, her bosses retaliated against her.

"They threatened me with an investigation. They walked me off the emergency intake site in Texas and took my badge. It is a terrible thing when you blow the whistle to try to save children and you're retaliated against for trying to help. The HHS [The United States Department of Health and Human Services] did everything they could to keep all of this silent."

In another testimony, Jessica M. Vaughan, an expert on immigration, said:

"Numerous investigative journalism reports published over the years in the Washington Times, Reuters, and the New York Times, Project Veritas, and others, that provide graphic details of the experiences of UACs during and after their illegal crossing and placement with sponsors in the United States, including domestic servitude, sexual abuse, forced labor, labor exploitation, and illegal employment in manufacturing, landscaping, and other inappropriate and dangerous jobs."

Rachel Campos-Duffy reported on April 26 on the crimes committed against migrant children:

"Over the last two years, this country has become an international hub for child trafficking. And the US government is behind it. Under Biden, hundreds of thousands of children have come into this country illegally. Once they get here, most are sold for sex, used for cheap labor, or forced to join gangs. Nobody deserves this. Especially not children."

Campos-Duffy called the mass trafficking, abuse, and exploitation of migrant children "America's darkest secret."

Sheena Rodriguez, president of the Alliance for a Safe Texas, presented eyewitness testimony regarding what is happening to children at the southern border:

"In April 2021, when Texas Gov. I am requesting that Congress launch a full investigation into the federal agencies responsible for approving the contracts for these facilities."

Among the several examples Rodriguez gave:

"I have also been a witness to several incidents where children were intentionally put in harm's way by adults who forced the children into the deadly currents of the Rio Grande instead of walking through a legal port of entry feet above from their crossing point in the river...

"I also met teenage boys between the ages of 14 to 17, who claimed cartel operatives often transported children through Mexico and held them at bodegas or warehouses where armed cartel members stood guard. Many were told they were going to stay with sponsors in America, with several claims that the teens had never met or personally communicated with their supposed sponsors.

"Since January 2021, there have been over 356,000 UACs...encountered at the southern border, a majority of which have been released into the U.S.: more than 10,000 of which have been released in my respective area of north Texas.

"The Biden administration has admitted they do not keep track of their whereabouts when they are released into the U.S. With the use of taxpayer dollars, tens of thousands of children are simply missing."

Jessica M. Vaughan also offered detailed testimony,

"The mass migration crisis instigated by the Biden administration's misguided immigration policies has caused incalculable harm to American communities, to the integrity of our immigration system, and, tragically, to many of the migrants themselves. These migrants were enticed by these policies to put themselves in risky situations to cross the border illegally, led by criminal smuggling and trafficking organizations, and enabled by government agencies and contractors that have looked the other way at the abuse and exploitation that frequently occurs en route and after resettlement. The most vulnerable group that has been endangered by the Biden policies are the more than 300,000 minors who have arrived on his watch (out of 660,000 total since 2012). They have been carelessly funneled through the custody of U.S. government agencies and contractors, and handed off to very lightly vetted sponsors (who are usually also here illegally) in our communities without regard to their safety and well-being...

"Several major investigative reports conducted by branches of the U.S. government and news media outlets have documented how U.S. policies and practices have facilitated not only this mass migration episode, but also the resulting exploitation and abuse of the participants, which has been present since the onset of this episode. These studies and reports have exposed numerous incidents of abuse, fraud, and trafficking for the purposes of commercial sex and forced labor.

"The Florida Grand Jury observed:

"'Some 'children' are not children at all, but full-grown predatory adults; some are already gang members or criminal actors; others are coerced into prostitution or sexual slavery; some are recycled to be used as human visas by criminal organizations' some are consigned to relatives who funnel them into sweatshops to pay off the debt accumulated by their trek to this country; some flee their sponsors and return to their country of origin; some are abandoned by their so-called families and become wards of the dependency system, the criminal justice system, or disappear altogether.'"

Vaughan gave examples of how children are exploited by gang members for sex and other criminal purposes, such as:

"In the Virginia MS-13 sex trafficking case, after running away from a group home in Fairfax, Va, the teen victims were horribly beaten to initiate them into the gang, and then repeatedly forced to engage in prostitution both to members of the gang and outsiders. From one court document:

'MINOR 2 was sex trafficked by numerous MS-13 gang members and associates shortly after she and MINOR 3 ran away from Shelter Care on August 27, 2018. According to MINOR 2, MINOR 3 informed her that she would engage in sex in exchange for money, food, and other things that MINOR 2 needed'." ....

"The Biden administration has implemented policies that incentivize the illegal entry of unaccompanied alien children on a massive scale, to the profit of criminal smugglers and traffickers, even with full knowledge of the risks that such policies will endanger the safety and well-being of the migrant children. There is no possible humanitarian or economic motive that could justify or make up for the damage that has been done to the victims by the smugglers, traffickers, abusive sponsors, and even family members who participated in these dreadful arrangements."

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis describes what is happening as "effectively the largest human smuggling operation in American history."

Senator Josh Hawley referred to the Biden policy "the biggest child smuggling ring and the biggest child labor ring in American history." He told Fox News not only that the FBI needs to be involved in finding the 85,000 migrant children that the federal government has lost track of, but that the FBI should investigate the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) over their handling of migrant children.

"This is criminal... The FBI needs to get on it and launch a full-scale investigation right now."

"There is no question," Vaughan said, "that that the system for processing minors who cross illegally is dysfunctional, and has been for some time, and needs to be fixed.

"To solve the problem, Congress must change the immigration laws and rein in the executive policies that are incentivizing the mass illegal migration of both adults and minors" What is needed is "more opportunity for state and local governments to investigate and penalize human trafficking and the illegal migration, human smuggling, identity fraud, and illegal employment."

Iranian Threat in America's Backyard, Thanks to The Biden Administration - Majid Rafizadeh

by Majid Rafizadeh

Iran began significantly increasing its influence in Latin America after US President Joe Biden assumed office, most likely assuming, apparently correctly, that the Biden Administration would not take any action against the regime.

  • Thanks to the Biden Administration's apparent lack of policy towards Latin America as well as the Administration's policy of appeasement towards Iran's Islamist regime, the ruling mullahs have been freely violating sanctions and increasing their influence in America's backyard without facing any consequences.

Maria Elvira Salazar, Chair of the House Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Fox News, June 15, 2023.

Thanks to the Biden Administration's apparently lack of policy towards Latin America as well as the Administration's policy of appeasement towards Iran's Islamist regime, the ruling mullahs have been freely violating sanctions and increasing their influence in America's backyard without facing any consequences.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, during a recent historic tour of Latin America, first visited Venezuela and its president, NicolΓ‘s Maduro. Raisi discussed the US and made clear that the reason behind strengthening ties between Iran and Latin American countries would be to counter the United States, it allies, and to scuttle US national interests. He pointed out that the link between Iran and Venezuela "is not normal but rather a strategic relationship," and that they share "common interests" and "common enemies."

Latin American countries are opportune places for Iranian covert intelligence operations, especially those targeting the United States. A CNN report from 2017 stated:

"One confidential intelligence document obtained by CNN links Venezuela's new Vice President Tareck El Aissami to 173 Venezuelan passports and ID's that were issued to individuals from the Middle East, including people connected to the terrorist group Hezbollah."

The Venezuelan passports could be used for travel to North America and Europe.

"We're concerned," said Nathan Sales, former coordinator for counterterrorism at the US State Department, "that Maduro has extended safe harbor to a number of terrorist groups... [including] supporters and sympathizers of Hezbollah."

Iran began significantly increasing its influence in Latin America after US President Joe Biden assumed office, most likely assuming, apparently correctly, that the Biden Administration would not take any action against the regime. As Raisi acknowledged during his trip:

"In the years after the Islamic Revolution, the Islamic Republic of Iran had good relations with all the countries of the Latin American region, but these relations have not been active for some reason for the past decade. It was necessary to review the relations with Latin American countries as an important and strategic center in the world and remove the obstacles to the activation of relations."

He added that during this recent trip, "A total of 35 cooperation documents were signed with Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba in the fields of energy, industry, mining, construction of power plants and biotechnology."

US Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, chair of the House Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, slammed the Biden Administration in a statement:

"Weak leadership from the Biden Administration has allowed the world's worst actors to penetrate our hemisphere with impunity. President Raisi's visit to Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua in plain defiance of the United States demonstrates the failure of the Administration's Latin America policy. We must repair our relationships with our friends in the region so that we can form a united front against the countries that invite the Islamic Republic's terrorist regime into our hemisphere".

The Iranian regime's terror cells have indeed grown in Latin America. Iran's terror proxy Hezbollah and Al Mustafa International University have both played a key role in expanding the mullahs' presence and ideology in the region. According to "United Against Nuclear Iran" (UANI), Al-Mustafa International University is tasked with "training the next generation of Iran's foreign Shi'a clerics, religious scholars, and missionaries."

"It is estimated that Al-Mustafa has 40,000 foreign students enrolled at present, roughly half of whom are studying at campuses within Iran. Many Al-Mustafa graduates are selected by the Iranian regime to establish religious and cultural centers in their home countries, where they can then recruit students and inculcate loyalty to the Islamic Revolution among local populations...

"Al-Mustafa operates several branches in European countries, most notably the Islamic College of London. Graduates of Al-Mustafa such as Italian cleric Abbas DiPalma have gone on to form Iranian cultural centers in their home countries, such as the Imam Mahdi Center in Rome. Al-Mustafa has also dispatched Lebanese graduates as missionaries to Latin America, where they seek to create inroads with expat communities and proselytize among local populations."

Thanks to the Biden Administration's non-existent leadership in Latin America combined with an appeasement in overdrive, Iran -- which the US Department of State has called the "world's worst state sponsor of terrorism" – is taking over America's backyard: Latin America. The Iranian regime is creating terror cells, exporting its Islamist ideology to Latin America, gaining access to Latin American passports, expanding the number Iranian-trained imams and militants in Latin America, increasing recruitment of radicals – while back at home the regime continues to enrich uranium to levels slightly below those needed for nuclear weapons breakout, all of which -- along with China set to militarize Cuba -- is a clear and present existential danger to the United States.

Biden approves sending Ukraine internationally-banned cluster bombs - Ben Whedon

by Ben Whedon

During Friday's White House press briefing, national security advisor Jake Sullivan asserted that Kyiv had committed to taking appropriate steps to mitigate civilian casualties.

The Biden administration confirmed on Friday that it would include cluster munitions in its upcoming military aid package to Ukraine, a move that has prompted international scrutiny due to the munitions' propensity to cause civilian casualties.

Cluster bombs distribute small, explosive submunitions to inflict casualties over a wide area. More than 100 countries worldwide have banned their use.

During Friday's White House press briefing, national security advisor Jake Sullivan asserted that Kyiv had committed to taking appropriate steps to mitigate civilian casualties and insisted the measure represented a stopgap to tide the country over while the U.S. expands domestic arms production.

"We will not leave Ukraine defenseless at any point in this conflict period," he said. "Ukraine would not be using these munitions in some foreign land. This is their country they're defending."

"Ukraine has committed to post-conflict demining efforts to mitigate any potential harm to civilians and this will be necessary regardless of whether the United States provides these munitions or not because of Russia's widespread use of cluster munitions," Sullivan further insisted.

Neither Ukraine nor Russia have signed the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions, Russian state media outlet Tass reported. Major European nations such as Germany have opposed sending Ukraine such weapons, citing their status as a signatory. Human rights organizations, meanwhile, have called on both combatant nations to refrain from using such munitions and urged Washington not to provide Kyiv with them.

Estimates vary as to the so-called "dud rate" of American cluster munitions. That figures to the number of submunitions that fail to explode upon use and may later present a threat to civilians. Sullivan placed the figure at 2.5% while Tass claimed it stands at 6%.

Majority of Black People Support Supreme Court Ban on Affirmative Action - Daniel Greenfield

by Daniel Greenfield

More black people say affirmative action puts them at a disadvantage than an advantage.

While the bulk of the mainstream media coverage of the Supreme Court decision banning colleges from basing college admissions on race consists of the expected leftist hysteria and propaganda, a small number of inside baseball stories largely aimed at talking Dems down from the high ladder, tell the truth.

You would never know it from most of the media’s coverage but the vast majority of Americans oppose using race to decide who gets into college.

84% of white adults oppose colleges considering race or ethnicity when deciding which students to accept

81% of Hispanics oppose it

76% of Asians oppose it

So do 71% of blacks

Asians are not even the top non-white group to oppose racial discrimination in college admissions, Hispanics are.

Black people, on whose behalf the whole affirmative action college debate has been waged, oppose it 71% to 28% and they’re the group most favorably inclined to it.

Awkward. Obviously.

Strikingly, black people don’t much like affirmative action and a majority backed the Supreme Court decision.

Indeed, more of them actually approved of the decision (more than 4 in 10) than disapproved (fewer than 4 in 10). And more Black Americans “strongly” approved (31 percent) than disapproved (26 percent).

The YouGov poll also asked people whether they felt affirmative action had had an impact on them. Just 19 percent of Black Americans felt that it had, and just 11 percent of those who felt that way said it had affected them “positively.”

Earlier this year, Pew asked people a battery of questions about affirmative action and efforts to increase diversity. While Black Americans were more likely to view affirmative action as positive than negative, fewer than half (46 percent) saw it as mainly positive. (Twenty percent said it was a negative, while the remainder saw it as mixed or said it made no difference.)

Asking more broadly about efforts to increase racial and ethnic diversity — rather than specifically about affirmative action — it inquired whether people felt they had been advantaged or disadvantaged by such policies.

Just 20 percent of Black Americans said they felt such policies had put them at an advantage. And strikingly, significantly more — 35 percent — actually said they felt such policies had put them at a disadvantage.

This was more than any other racial group tested.

The reasons are fairly obvious. If you’re lazy or incompetent then a program that gives you an advantage because of your racist is convenient, if however you’re ambitious, have dignity and want to be respected for what you can do, then affirmative action is humiliating. Even if you don’t directly benefit from it, it’s a cloud hanging over your head, and even when no one dares to say it out loud, the assumption is that black people in certain fields got there because of a racial quota system.

And beyond that, black people looking over the landscape can’t say that they’re very happy with things.

Racial quotas mean that your workplace needs X amount of black executives and that’s it. And thus you see one or two black people sitting in first class on a plane, while the majority can’t even dream of it. A small number of black people win the lottery, most are not going to advance because they’re still a minority.

Racial quotas keep Asians down, but they also keep black people and everyone else down. If you can only get ahead by hitting a quota number, then everyone who doesn’t win the quota lottery suffers.

Jonathan Chait, one of the last surviving woke skeptics at New York Mag (largely because she spends most of his time bashing conservatives) points out the obvious thing to white lefties, they’re not minority ‘allies’, they’re advancing a radical agenda under the false flag of minorities.

The party’s most restive constituencies are increasingly racial minorities: African Americans and Latinos as well as Asian Americans. These constituencies remain heavily, even overwhelmingly Democratic but disproportionately compose the party’s moderate wing, which is why Republicans are beginning to eat into their margins.

Yet Democrats have had an exceedingly difficult time recognizing and acting upon this challenge. One reason is that acknowledging a Democratic constituency’s authentic disagreements with the party’s agenda implies the need for compromise, something progressives — or ideologues of any stripe — are loath to do.

Another, deeper reason is that it violates a deep, self-flattering Democratic Party assumption to acknowledge that the swing constituents being lost are heavily made up of non-white voters. It’s supposed to be racial minorities, who have experienced the most discrimination, pulling the party to the left with white people joining as allies. Progressive activists and donors have long assumed that simply mobilizing non-white voters would naturally pull the electorate leftward. The idea that the constituents pulling the party leftward are disproportionately white, and those resisting that pull are disproportionately not, contradicts the premise of a movement that has axiomatically equated socially liberal positions with the desires of minorities.

As I’ve pointed out before, without minorities, Bernie Sanders would have been the nominee.

But lefties respond by claiming that their minority voters are being manipulated by evil white conservatives.

After the 2020 election, a wave of stories attributed the shift of Latino votes toward Trump to “misinformation,” the most common deflection used by progressives to explain away minority voters’ inconvenient beliefs. The same method has been used to rationalize Asian American skepticism of racial preferences in school admissions. A report last year by the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans lamented “the disinformation fueled by WeChat against affirmative-action programs in local schools and higher education, pitting Chinese Americans against other communities of color.”

Minorities can’t disagree with white lefties unless they’ve been brainwashed. So what’s the explanation for why black people oppose affirmative action?

Have most black people been brainwashed by Republicans?
