An Election Between Love and Hate - Daniel Greenfield

 by Daniel Greenfield

Why are President Trump’s rallies packed while Biden’s rallies are deserted?

Why are President Trump’s rallies packed while Biden’s rallies are deserted? Where were all the Democrats who joined in the Black Lives Matter riots, who packed the streets of D.C. for the Women’s March, who are wailing in front of the Supreme Court and burning down Portland?

The Democrats aren’t campaigning for Joe Biden, but against Donald J. Trump.

The Biden-Harris ticket is a placeholder, two candidates picked by Wall Street and Hollywood, by corporate donors looking for the best angle, bringing together a friend of segregationists and the woman who accused him of racism, and then negotiated with the party’s socialist wing to split the difference between the prospective administration’s crony capitalism and socialism.

Nobody’s going to a rally for that.

The 2020 election can be boiled down to love against hate. It pits MAGA against the 1619 Project, those who love this country against those who want to destroy it. At Republican rallies, American flags are waved, at Democrat riots flags, churches, and shops are burned. The active part of the Democrat base won’t show up to a Biden rally because they won’t be allowed to destroy things, and because they’re not animated by the positive, but by the negative.

The Left’s radical change agenda isn’t born out of idealism, but cynicism. To get to the point where it can gather in mobs, topple statues, and tear down the United States, its followers have to believe that this country is fundamentally evil. Critical race theory is so popular because, like the more conventional Marxism before it, it resonates with what the mobs already believe.

Inside all the theories, articles, and plans to remake society is a great emptiness. The members of the mob are moved more by what they oppose than what they support. They can articulate hatred of the police, but not a serious proposal to replace them, they rage against America, but when they erect their CHAZ and CHOP replacements, they boil down into anarchy and violence.

All the plans to build a better world are only sanctimonious pretexts for destroying this one.

Biden isn’t really on the ticket. The destruction of America is the only candidate that the Democrats can put up anymore. When that candidate viscerally embodies the destruction, as only Biden’s boss ever truly did, then the rallies take off and the crowds faint at his word. But when, like Biden, the candidate is a Potemkin village putting up a facade of normalcy for the destroyers, then the crowds stay home, tweet furiously, or knock over a convenience store.

What enrages the radical mob isn’t oppression or injustice. That’s just what they call normalcy, stability, or any attempt to preserve the United States, a neighborhood, or a corner store.

They’re not voting for Biden. Or for anything. They’re not capable of being for things, only against them. The only thing their principles ever amount to is self-righteous outrage.

This election will test if their hate is stronger than the love Americans have for their nation.

Do Americans want to preserve their nation or destroy it in a furious tantrum while insisting that with their superior moral sensibilities they can build something better out of the rubble. The 1619 Project, critical race theory, the cancellation of everyone from Christopher Columbus to George Washington to Abraham Lincoln is an expression of profound disgust and contempt for America.

Make America Great Again is an expression of love for what America was and can be again.

MAGA rallies are filled with bright colors, while the mobs rampaging through American cities wear black. The clashing iconographies of red, white, and blue flags, and black power fists, starkly convey the choice between light and darkness, life and death, and love and hate.

Can hate drive more people to the polls than love? Is the lust to destroy more powerful than the drive to create? That’s the true question on the ballot.

This election isn’t just about the candidates. It’s about us.

The Democrats, like the rest of their leftist brethren, are at their most impassioned when they are running against something they truly hate. Each notable burst of political derangement aimed at a Republican, whether it was Nixon, Reagan, Bush, or Trump, led to an outpouring of ideological ferment, tactical innovation, explosive violence, and artistic creativity. When they lack an object for their hatred, then they recede into political mediocrity and impotent fuming.

The Left is at its best when it is also at its worst. It derives its sense of purpose and meaning not from within, but from hating its enemies. When it has purged all its enemies, its regimes decline into a state of mediocre misery until the great utopian system rots and falls. When there is nothing to fight against, no wars to make or lives to take, it is swallowed up by its emptiness.

Republicans are at their best when they sense an opportunity for national rebirth. Their high points, and there have been few, come when they sense that a sleeping giant is awakening. And then the scattered members of the silent majority who lack the organization and ideological consolidation of their enemies, rise with the tide, ready to rebuild the nation's greatness.

Republicans and Democrats both need Trump for very different reasons. The Left needs him because it needs someone to hate. Its raptures of hatred inspire it to new extremes. The rage that animates it at the presence of someone like President Trump makes it feel truly alive.

The Left needs to destroy President Trump, but it also needs him to give it a sense of meaning.

And it is in the nature of the Left to destroy those things which give it meaning. Its drive to destroy Trump, like its drive to destroy America, is a manic obsession. After four years, it has the opportunity to truly live out its death wish because it is not only out to destroy America. Deep down, the Left also wants to destroy itself. Its ideologies have always been suicide notes. The sum total of them, from anti-capitalism to environmentalism to critical race theory to degenderization, is a compelling argument for why nothing should be allowed to exist.

Or, as David Benatar, the anti-natalist philosopher and author of Better Never to Have Been: The Harm of Coming into Existence, wrote, "Although it is obviously too late to prevent our own existence, it is not too late to prevent the existence of future possible people.”

That is what is at stake in this election. To call this hate understates the case. The other side of utopia is despair. If the world can’t be perfected, and it can’t, it must be destroyed. And since no amount of perfection can overcome the rage and unhappiness behind the feigned idealism, all the utopian deconstruction of what is eventually ends in barren lands and mass graves.

That is the dark heart that MAGA is running against. It asks Americans not to hope, but to build.

As the days of the calendar take us toward Election Day, a nation must decide between love and hate. Democrats will strive to win an election on the empty dregs of hate. They are running on nothing but antipathy, to President Trump and to America. Republicans must remember that they are not only running against something, but that they are running for their country.

America has had its dark hours, but it rose, grew, and thrived because our drive to build was stronger than our drive to destroy. That is why we came out of every war, no matter how devastating, stronger than ever as long as we believed in the future. When the time came that we no longer believed, even the lightest wars became hopeless affairs we couldn’t recover from.

The Democrats are still caught in that hopeless hate. They have nothing to love. The past is evil. History is a morass of crimes. The nation was stolen through genocide and built on slavery. Every historical hero is soon exposed as a monster. And the future holds more of the same.

The oceans are rising. Global warming will soon turn the parts of the world that aren’t underwater into desert. Mankind and all life on the planet is on the verge of extinction. And human greed is to blame. Wouldn’t it be better if the human race does indeed disappear?

Republicans have a nation and a storied history to love. The heroes of the nation are at their backs. And the future is one of promise or plenty, not misery and extinction. All they have to do is claim it. Hate is strong, but love, when it taps into the wellsprings of nationhood, family, and faith, is far stronger. Rage is powerful, but hollow. It is no match for the great love of a nation.

The Polls Shift Toward Trump - John Kudla

 by John Kudla

The silent Trump vote is beginning to stir.

You can call me Pollyannish, but I am beginning to believe I may have underestimated the silent Trump vote in my previous posts.  This is why.

I mentioned the 2020 Cato Institute poll before, which discusses the high percentage of conservatives who are afraid to express their political views.  Something I failed to consider was:

Nearly two‐thirds of Latino Americans (65%) and White Americans (64%) and nearly half of African Americans (49%) have political views they are afraid to share.

Why would 65% of Latin voters and 49% of Black voters be afraid to express their political views, especially if 70-90% of them, respectively, are voting for Biden?  Are they afraid of the bad orange man, or is a significant portion of these two minority groups part of the silent Trump vote?  The answer may be the latter.

A Zogby poll from late August indicated 36% of Black voters approved of President Trump’s job performance, along with 37% of Hispanic voters.

The Rasmussen Tracking poll showed a surge in approval for the President by likely Black voters between October 19-23 of 21 points, from 25% to 46%.

Ditto a Zia poll, taken in Michigan and released October 20, which showed Trump getting the support of 46% of Black voters and almost 40% of Hispanics.

Is this support for Trump real?  Lenard McKelvey, a.k.a. Charlamagne tha God, discussing Trump’s pursuit of black voters on CNN, said, “Trump is targeting young black males in promos and marketing. It works.”  Even CNN personality and dyed-in-the-wool socialist Van Jones praised Trump for the good things he has done for the black community.

Will minority support actually show up at this level in the vote count on Election Day?  That is anybody’s guess.  Considering Trump won only 8% of the Black vote and 28% of the Hispanic vote in 2016, this has to be considered a major plus.

Word in the news media and in the polls is Trump is losing suburban women.  To quote Lee Corso, “Not so fast!”

You may have heard of the Granite State poll that found 68% of Trump supporters in New Hampshire were reluctant to place Trump signs in their yards for fear their homes may get vandalized.  In addition, the poll also found 45% of Trump supporters would not discuss their approval of the President for fear of alienating friends or co-workers, and nearly 70% of women would not discuss their support of Trump with anyone for the same reason.

That last bit about the 70% of women who support Trump may be the key element to the silent Trump vote and the entire election.  Why?  The answer is social pressure.

Men and women operate differently in the sphere of social interaction.  Men are more hierarchical, that is they tend to follow or listen to a leader or those with seniority.  Women are more collectivist or consensus driven, meaning the overall attitudes and opinions of the group matter more than that of any individual.  For a woman to challenge the consensus of her social circle is to risk being bad-mouthed or, at worst, ostracized.  Group social conformity may explain why women who support Trump are reluctant to say so, and this may be carrying over to the polls.

Then, there is something I mentioned in a previous post called social desirability bias.  This means people who respond to polls may change their answers in order to appear more likable.

An Axios SurveyMonkey poll taken in September found 52% of white suburban men, who do not feel safe in their communities, backed Trump, while only 42% of white suburban women did.  If I remember correctly, Trump supports the police while Biden’s team is just the opposite.  On a commonsense level, that poll number does not compute.

If you factor in the hate speech and the anti-Trump propaganda the media and the Democrat Party have brought to bear against Trump, it makes more sense.  Are you going to support evil lying Trump or sweet lovable Joe?  Women are not stupid.  They are not going to risk trading peace and prosperity for higher taxes, fewer police, and more unemployment.  They are simply less willing to tell the pollster they are voting for Trump.

If you look at the Real Clear Politics national polling average, Biden is up by 7.4 points.  However, if you average just the three most recent polls, the national average drops to Biden +4.3.

The RCP averages for the battleground states have also improved in Trump’s favor. Ohio’s RCP average now has Trump ahead by a margin of +0.6 points.

Georgia is Trump +0.4. The average of the three latest polls is Trump +1.

In Florida, the current RCP average is Biden +1.2.  The average of the four most recent polls is Biden +0.5.

The Pennsylvania RCP average is Biden by roughly +4.  If you average the six most recent polls, it drops to Biden +2.2.

In North Carolina, the average is Biden +1.2.  The average of the latest three polls is even.

Iowa is Biden +0.8, which is within the margin of error for all the Iowa polls.  The average of the three latest polls is Biden +0.3.

The RCP average in Michigan is Biden +9.  However, the average does not include the above mentioned Zia poll, at Trump +4, nor a recent Trafalgar poll at Trump +1.8.  Include these polls and the average drops to Biden +5.6.

Arizona’s RCP average is Biden +2.2.  The average of the last three polls is Biden +1.

Wisconsin is Biden +5.5, Minnesota is Biden +6, and Nevada is Biden +5.2.  All are still winnable but not necessary.

Texas is red and Colorado is blue.  They were never battleground states to start with.  The rest of the supposed battleground states do not matter.

In my personal opinion, Donald Trump is a combination of the best and the worst New York has to offer.  On the minus side, he is a brash, vain, egotistical, loudmouthed, a billionaire.  On the plus side, he is a compassionate, sincere, loving individual and a bold, risk-taking, successful businessman and entrepreneur.

As President, Trump’s record of accomplishment is virtually unparalleled.  Look at all the new America-friendly trade deals.  Look at all the new factories, homes, and warehouses being built.  He is fighting terrorism and keeping us out of foreign wars.  Peace is happening in the Middle East!  And there is much more.

Frankly, I do not care what CNN or the New York Times think, and I do not care about Trump’s personality flaws.  Any president who can solve problems, deal effectively with our friends and competitors, keep the peace, and bring the juice to our economy deserves our support.

My prediction is the silent Trump vote will be the difference in the election.  Polls are clearly shifting in his direction.  If we assume the polls are accurate, and I still have my doubts, at this moment all Trump needs is a +2% shift in the battleground states and it is game over.  It may be close in the Electoral College, but I truly believe Trump will win.

Finally, some friendly advice for Bruce Springsteen.  Australia is a great country and an excellent choice.  I think Qantas is a great airline, too, except they fly Airbuses, which vibrate a lot and bounce around in turbulence like a kite on a string.  So, when you leave for Australia, I would fly United.  The food is a bit better, and those big solid Boeing planes will make you feel much safer.

Israel Battles to Save Life of Chief Palestinian Authority Diplomat - Ari Lieberman

 by Ari Lieberman

Notorious inciter turns to the people he demonizes to save his life.

On October 18, Israel’s Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem admitted senior Palestinian diplomat, Saeb Erekat, for emergency treatment relating to complications resulting from contracting Covid-19. At 65-years-old, Erekat suffers from a number of high-risk, co-morbidity factors including a heart condition and a 2017 lung transplant. He is currently connected to an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine and his prognosis is not good. Israeli doctors, who are battling to save his life, said that Erekat is beginning to exhibit signs of multiple organ failure.

Erekat is no ordinary Palestinian Authority diplomat. He is the Palestine Liberation Organization’s secretary general, is part of the PA elite, and is one of President Mahmoud Abbas’s closest advisers. With his polished English and custom-tailored suits, Erekat has endeared himself to the useful idiots of the radical left. This upcoming year, he was slated to mentor students at Harvard’s Kennedy School. Unfortunately, Erekat is also a congenital liar, a spreader of conspiracy theories, a rabid anti-Semite and one of Israel’s harshest critics, bordering on pathological.

The notion of Erekat being admitted to an Israeli hospital for life-saving treatment presents double ironies and exposes the PA’s naked hypocrisy. In 2019, Abbas prohibited ordinary Palestinians from seeking medical treatment in Israel. The move was ostensibly prompted by the false charge of Israeli overcharging. In reality, Abbas acted because he was angry over Israel’s decision to withhold Palestinian tax remittances in proportion to amounts the PA channeled to Palestinian terrorists – an insidious PA practice macabrely referred to as, “pay for slay.”

But Abbas’s petty and counterproductive action applied exclusively to the ordinary Palestinian but exempted the Palestinian elite. Those who belonged to Abbas’s inner circle, including Erekat, were permitted treatment. The Palestinian leader was essentially telling his people, “do as I say, not as I do.”

Moreover, Erekat is among the PLO's most notorious spreaders of blood libels and assorted conspiracy theories against the Jewish people and Israel. It is more than Ironic that he would be seeking life-saving treatment from the nation he demonizes most.

In 2002, Erekat claimed that Israel had committed a massacre in the Palestinian city of Jenin and killed 500 noncombatants. A UN commission of inquiry assigned to investigate the matter determined that the allegation was completely false. In fact, during the course of an immensely difficult counterinsurgency operation, the Israel Defense Forces killed between 52 and 56 Palestinians, nearly all of whom were combatants belonging to various Palestinian terrorist groups.

In 2014, Erekat alleged that Israel had killed 12,000 Palestinians in Gaza, and that ninety-six percent were civilians. In fact, during Israel’s 2014 Operation Protective Edge, about 2,000 Gazans were killed and more than half of these fatalities were combatants. Of the remainder, many were killed by errant Hamas rockets or defective terrorist ordinance meant for Israel.

Erekat’s prevarications are just the tip of the iceberg. In the past, he’s defended random car ramming and knife attacks, portraying these acts of terrorism as legitimate acts of self-defense against what he termed “summary executions” perpetrated by the “occupation.” One such attack led to the passage of the Taylor Force Act, named after Taylor Force, a West Point graduate and veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and was killed in Tel Aviv by a knife wielding Palestinian. The Act, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump in 2018, prohibits disbursement of economic aid to the PA until it ceases its practice of providing stipends to Palestinian terrorists and families of deceased terrorists.

Erekat also falsely pushed the anti-Semitic canard that Israel systematically burns down mosques and churches. In 2014, he compared Israel’s democratically elected leader to ISIS. He opposes normalization with the Israel, stating that he would never recognize Israel as a Jewish state. He’s vehemently condemned recent Arab rapprochement efforts with Israel, referring to those efforts as a “stab in the back.”

In sum, Erekat has molded himself into an anti-Semitic, rejectionist who has attempted to harm Israel’s image internationally. Despite the proven absurdity of many of his outrageous accusations and baseless allegations, he is still hailed as a “moderate” in some circles.

Notwithstanding Erekat’s pernicious history, Israeli doctors are waging a valiant effort to save his life, and that just about sums up the difference between Israel and its genocidal enemy.

Getting Out of China - Michael Ledeen

 by Michael Ledeen

For millions of Chinese, the Party's over.

The Federal Government has ordered U.S. Customs and Border Protection to seize all shipments of stevia, a plant extract used to sweeten beverages and other foods:

After an investigation, CBP said it had determined that Inner Mongolia Hengzheng Group Baoanzhao Agriculture, Industry and Trade Co. (Baoanzhao) used convict, forced, or indentured labor to produce stevia extracts and derivatives, the agency said in a statement on Oct. 20. It added that those products are being, or are likely to be, imported to the United States.

I love stevia, and this may hurt, especially early in the morning. But Customs seems quite certain that its evidence is good, and they will not permit stevia produced by forced labor to be imported.

It is all part of the intensifying struggle between the United States and the People’s Republic of China.

The move against Chinese stevia is part of a broad American campaign against Chinese exports in violation of U.S. regulations, much of which goes to American universities… According to a front page story in Wednesday’s Epoch Times, there is $6.5 billion in unreported funding to U.S. universities from foreign sources. The largest amount reported was $1.61 billion to Carnegie Mellon University, and Harvard tops the list of recipients of Chinese funds at $116 million.

“The vast majority of the foreign funds went to America’s largest and most prestigious universities,” the newspaper reported.  The money was transmitted through “a bevy of intermediaries,” according to a report from the Department of Education. In the first six months of 2020, American universities reported $2 billion of foreign donations. One unidentified school failed to report $760 in foreign gifts; another unidentified school failed to report $1.2 billion in gifts and contracts.

The DOE report arrives at a time when the [Trump Administration] is taking an aggressive stance against the influence of the CCP in the United States. The [DOJ]  is conducting thousands of investigations across every state.

Evidence of Chinese spying in the U.S. university system is abundant, and goes hand-in-hand with defections from the Party, to which many millions of young Chinese have lent their names. In all likelihood, the U.S. Government is getting help from large numbers of Chinese who are leaving the Communist Party of China.

From July to September, the number of people who renounced their ties with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliate organizations was over 4 million. Since 2004, a total of more than 365 million have done so, according to the Tuidang Center’s records.

“Tuidang” means “leaving the Party,” and there are more than 100 offices around the world. Motives for joining, and for obtaining certificates attesting to their departure from the Party, vary widely. Some view the certificates as a method of obtaining permission to migrate to the United States, others as a way of cleansing their records of unwanted Communist Party membership in youth organizations. Membership is mandatory for students in the Young Pioneers and the Youth League, which signs up young people through high school.

Some fear that their Party membership may pose a potential hurdle on their path to immigration, as U.S. laws prohibit members of communist parties from obtaining an immigrant visa. The Tuidang Center’s certificates are recognized by U.S. immigration officers, Yi said.

Yi recalled one person who recently flew from mainland China to New York specifically for the certificate…

The recent uptick has corresponded with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issuing an alert reiterating its policy of barring Communist Party members.

Many of those obtaining the certificates are studying in the United States, and they hope that the documentation will permit them to remain here. Others, in Iran, fear that if they do not change their biographies, they will not be allowed to apply for exit visas or American entries. Hence there is a mad scramble to rewrite one’s life story.

In late May, as Beijing’s rubber-stamp legislature convened its annual plenary sessions, a delegate called and asked to withdraw from the Party, saying that he has “seen enough of the regime’s evil deeds.” Choking back tears, he shared about the time he led a team of medics to assist Wuhan during the COVID-19 outbreak’s early stages, and the deaths he saw there. He said he met with whistleblower doctor Li Wenliang there, who was punished for sharing the news about the virus. Li told Yang he “regretted being a Party member.”

It's wild. The Chinese regime is not ready for an all-out struggle with Donald Trump’s America. If he is reelected, the regime will have some difficult choices to make.

A New Nuclear Deal with Iran? - Peter Huessy

 by Peter Huessy

The JCPOA deal not only fails to stop Iran from having a nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them, it also hides Western inaction in confronting Iran's missiles, nuclear sites and terrorism.

  • How then can the United States get around the Iranian regime's adamant opposition to any restrictions on its nuclear or missile ambitions and secure a sound nuclear deal?

  • Even if the United States secured a new nuclear agreement with Iran, or resuscitated the old one, what makes anyone think that Iran would honor a deal any more than it honored the last ones?

  • Given the seriousness of these issues and the lack of trust in the mullahs, all provisions must not have "sunset clauses" but be permanent.

  • Even if these six factors may now make it possible to give "diplomacy a chance," it might be advisable only to try that route if it is reinforced with resolute military force.

  • The JCPOA it is not only a fraud, it is camouflage for the appeasers of the world to pretend they are doing something about Iran's nuclear ambitions when in fact they are not doing anything but allowing Iran, after a short delay, to have nuclear weapons.... The mullahs will not change on their own. Diplomatic options are poor and unrealistic.

  • The JCPOA deal not only fails to stop Iran from having a nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them, it also hides Western inaction in confronting Iran's missiles, nuclear sites and terrorism.

The defects of the current JCPOA deal are real. As Ambassador Eric Edelman and retired General Chuck Wald recently explained, Iran's search for a nuclear-capable missile was actually given an impetus by the current deal, including a provision ending the UN arms embargo against Iran. Pictured: Edelman testifies before the Senate Armed Services Committee on November 27, 2018 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

Both US contenders of the presidency, the incumbent Donald J. Trump and the challenger, former Vice-President Joe Biden, have indicated that no matter what the election results are around November 3, they intend to negotiate with Iran. Even if the United States secured a new nuclear agreement with Iran, or resuscitated the old one, what makes anyone think that Iran would honor a deal any more than it honored the last ones?

US choices seem to come down to : (1) keeping the current JCPOA, a seriously deficient semi-agreement that, contrary to what was promised by the Obama administration -- that it would prevent Iran from having a nuclear bomb, instead leads straight to Iran's having as many as it would like; or (2) pin US hopes on a wholesale campaign of diplomatic, political, and economic sanctions against Iran in the hope that Iran might secure an internally generated revolution and overthrow the mullah's regime.

There are those who say that the current nuclear deal is the best option for the United States. They assert without a doubt that going back to the JCPOA will bring Iran into complete compliance with a non-nuclear future. One adherent of such an approach is apparently former Vice President Joe Biden, with whom the Iranians say, understandably to judge from his financial track record, they would rather "do business."

The defects of the current JCPOA deal are real. As Ambassador Eric Edelman and retired General Chuck Wald recently explained, Iran's search for a nuclear-capable missile was actually given an impetus by the current deal, including a provision ending the UN arms embargo against Iran. The current deal is even worse, given Iran's ongoing space launch and missile production. One expert described them as a "... a crucial building block establishing a global range nuclear missile force..." to say nothing of the potential for stimulating or even underwriting nuclear proliferation.

How then can the United States get around the Iranian regime's adamant opposition to any restrictions on its nuclear or missile ambitions and secure a sound nuclear deal?

First, tough ongoing and snap-back economic sanctions have significantly reduced Iranian support for its terror proxies in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and the Gaza Strip.

Second, U.S. domestic production, and especially fracking, have reduced oil and gas prices by upwards of fifty percent from a decade ago. Those circumstances have insulated the U.S. economy from Middle East oil price shocks including those from Iran, should Iran seek to disrupt oil transport though the Strait of Hormuz or attack Gulf oil storage or export facilities.

Third, the U.S. has created a significantly better armed coalition of allied nations including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Israel, which are now vastly more able to counter Iran's malignant behavior in the Middle East. Regional U.S. military commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, for instance, has explained that Iranian-created tensions have ebbed. Some coalition members have, in fact, adopted unprecedented formal peace agreements with Israel.

Fourth, America's successful destruction of the ISIS "caliphate" removed a major source of Middle East instability and allowed the U.S. to focus on Iran's threat.

Fifth, the U.S. took out Iran's top terrorist leader -- General Qassem Soleimani -- thereby proving to the Iranian mullahs and US allies that the America, at least under the current administration, means business.

Sixth, and perhaps most importantly, more and more expert analysts have determined the JCPOA was an extremely toxic agreement; fatal flaws identified by the Israelis years ago have now been confirmed.

Even if these six factors may now make it possible to give "diplomacy a chance," it might be advisable only to try that route if it is reinforced with resolute military force.

Of what should a sound nuclear deal with Iran consist? First, there should be five principal prohibitions:

The original JCPOA gave Iran the right to enrich uranium -- a right that no other non-nuclear member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty had ever been granted.

With no right to enrich, possessing advanced uranium centrifuges have no legitimate purpose.

With no nuclear warheads in Iran's future, ballistic missiles with which to carry such warheads also become unnecessary.

Given the seriousness of these issues and the lack of trust in the mullahs, all provisions must not have "sunset clauses" but be permanent.

Finally, if Iran wants to "do business" as a normal nation state, the mullahs must also reject their jihadist agenda. There are no legitimate grievances that justify Iran's terrorism. Any normalization must also include reparations paid to American victims of Iranian terrorism.

The principles for such a deal with a possible chance for tenuous success are well known; the real question seems if anyone in charge of Iran will actually abide by them.

Iran may indeed reject any deal outright. Is there a third way?

The JCPOA it is not only a fraud, it is camouflage for the appeasers of the world to pretend they are doing something about Iran's nuclear ambitions when in fact they are not doing anything but allowing Iran, after a short delay, to have nuclear weapons.

So, keeping the JCPOA deal means that the mullahs get nuclear weapons; waiting for the mullahs to come to their senses also means that the mullahs, down the road, get nuclear weapons. The mullahs will not change on their own. Diplomatic options are poor and unrealistic.

The JCPOA deal not only fails to stop Iran from having a nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them, it also hides Western inaction in confronting Iran's missiles, nuclear sites and terrorism.

50 Things a Biden Presidency Would Mean for America - Don Feder

 by Don Feder

Worse than the zombie apocalypse?

Below are The Top 50 Reasons Why a Biden Presidency Would Be Worse Than The Zombie Apocalypse:

  1. Another lockdown – Which will Kevorkian what’s left of the economy.
  2. Amnesties and other incentives for illegal immigration – Joe promised another amnesty bill in his first 100 days to satisfy the urgent need for more Democrat voters. No border wall, ICE defunded, sanctuary cities subsidized.
  3. Back to the era of bad trade deals – Give away the store to get it done. Joe understands trade, based on his vast business experience.
  4. Biden Care – “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor” – not. Six-month delays for routine tests. Why should Canadians have all the fun?
  5. Black Lives Matter -- in charge of combating white privilege and institutional racism with quotas, reparations and looting.
  6. Biden’s Cabinet -- Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Secretary of State Illhan Omar, Secretary of Commerce Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Secretary of the Treasury Bernie Sanders.
  7. Celebrity gloating – Hollywood would spend the next 12 months crowing about its victory over flyover country. Amy Schumer will gain another 50 lbs. celebrating with cake and ice cream.
  8. Chinese asset in the White House – Biden consistently opposed tariffs on China. Son Hunter was in business with a Chinese oil company. The Big Guy spent his career outsourcing our jobs to the People’s Republic.
  9. The Clintons and Obamas back in power – Someone has to deal with us deplorables and bitter-clingers.
  10. Crazy Kamala – Rated the most far-left member of the Senate, and Kavanaugh’s grand inquisitor, as president-in-waiting.
  11. D.C. and Puerto Rico Statehood – Senate-packing, giving Democrats a permanent majority. What’s next – Guam, American Samoa, and Portland, Oregon?
  12. Enemies List – FOX News, The New York Post, Rudy Giuliani, Bill Barr, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Diamond and Silk, Herschel Walker, Kristie Alley, Hunter’s former business partners, etc.
  13. Energy prices will soar – No fracking, drilling on public lands, or tax-breaks for energy development. Get ready for $20-a-gallon gas. Russia’s oil industry will thrive.
  14. Facemask Nation – Biden says he wants them mandated nationally for the duration, as determined by Surgeon General Fauci.
  15. For sale sign prominently displayed outside the White House -- Just be sure 10% is set aside for the Big Guy.
  16. Green New Deal – Repeal the Industrial Revolution, millions of jobs and trillions of dollars sacrificed for a myth.
  17. George Soros -- Awarded the Presidential Freedom Medal.
  18. Gretchen Whitmer -- The Michigan dominatrix as COVID Czar.
  19. Gun Confiscation – Beto O’Rourke running the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
  20. Homeless encampments everywhere – The Biden condominium: a shipping crate.
  21. Hunter Biden – First Perv and national security risk extraordinaire will help to shape drug policy.
  22. Indigenous Peoples Day Replaces Columbus Day – No more celebrating the white “occupation” of America. Presidents Day, Thanksgiving and Memorial Day also on the chopping block.
  23. Industry flees overseas – Taxes and regulations will make it impossible to operate here.
  24. Infanticide – Several Democrat Governors are on record supporting it. Biden opposes a born-alive bill.
  25. IRS -- Unleashed against conservative organizations as it was during the Clinton and Obama years.
  26. Islamophobia combated– Classes promoting tolerance (by getting school children to celebrate Muslim holidays) taught in schools. No Christmas trees, but prayer rugs aplenty. Get ready for “A Charlie Brown Ramadan.”
  27. Little Sisters of the Poor -- Sent to Devil’s Island.
  28. Mainstream media – Will be transformed from an attack machine into an Orwellian Ministry of Truth.
  29. Middle class taxes go up – by $6,500 for the median family. But that’s just the start. Tax hikes on “corporations and the rich” are sucker’s bait to snare middle-class voters.
  30. Military put on a starvation diet – Democrats believe we have no foreign enemies. Much of the military budget will be transferred to social spending.
  31. National Debt will soar. The Bureau of Printing and Engraving will work around the clock.
  32. National Rifle Association – Will be designated a domestic terrorist group.
  33. Permanent recession – Between taxes and regulations, lack of investment and business failures, we’ll never recover from COVID, which is what the left wants. Socialist regimes don’t grow out of prosperity.
  34. Politically correct language will be mandatory – Riots are peaceful protests. Illegal aliens are undocumented workers and socialists are progressives.
  35. Repeal of the First Amendment – Snowflakes need protection from hurtful speech.
  36. Return of the Deep State – Adam Schiff as FBI Director.
  37. Re-writing history – The 1619 project. Priscilla Alden brought slavery to the New World. Every president on Mount Rushmore was a racist. The Plains Indians were all pacifists and environmentalists who did nothing to provoke the genocidal U.S. Cavalry.
  38. Sexual harassment inquisitionsA la the Kavanaugh hearings. “Believe women,” except those who say Joe molested them or Hunter was in bed with them when they were underage.
  39. Supreme Court Packing – An expanded, activist Court becomes a rubber stamp for a pinata view of the Constitution.
  40. Simplified 1040 form -- What did you earn? What’s the least you can to live on? Send us the rest.
  41. Social media censorship -- Of conservative views will continue unchecked. With Silicon Valley a bastion of Biden support, Big Tech will have a free hand to crush free speech.
  42. 25th Amendment – After a decent interval, Biden will be removed for mental incapacity and Kamala installed. On the campaign trail, Harris’s husband said he was “married to the next president of the United States.”
  43. Top 1%  brutalized -- Unless they made their money through a Biden business venture, they’ll be punished for being productive.
  44. Unisex bathrooms – To accommodate the gender-confused at the price of the safety and modesty of women and girls.
  45. Urban centers turned into ghost towns – Businesses over-taxed, open to the depredations of rioters and looters, the homeless treating sidewalks as latrines, stores will close forever or relocate to South Dakota.
  46. Venezuela – Will send its bureaucrats here for training.
  47. Voting Age lowered to 12 – Ignorance is an investment in the future of the Democrat Party.
  48. War on the police will escalate – Biden will put social workers in patrol cars. In life-threatening situations, cops will be taught to shoot armed suspects in the leg or just point an imaginary gun and go “bang-bang.”
  49. White House schedule -- Will conclude at 9:15 am each day to allow for plenty of presidential naptime.
  50. Zombies avoid D.C. – After 4 years of Biden, they won’t find any brains to eat there. By 2024, we’ll be getting foreign aid from Mozambique, millions will apply to Costa Rica for refugee status, weeds will grow up through the sidewalks of our cities and patriots will be holding wakes for America.

Philadelphia truck bomb: Is Antifa escalating its war on America? - Monica Showalter

 by Monica Showalter

Truck bombs sound as if someone's taking terror to a whole new level

Against a backdrop of Antifa/Black Lives Matter rioting in Philadelphia, police found what looks like a truck bomb, an abandoned truck left in the middle of the street loaded with explosives, which, if they had gone off, could have been disastrous

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — An investigation is underway in Philadelphia after police find explosives and other suspicious cargo inside a van at Logan Circle on Wednesday night.

Action News has learned that police recovered propane tanks, torches and possible dynamite sticks from the van.

The bomb squad is investigating. There is no immediate word on who owns the van or if anyone has been arrested.

The discovery comes as the city remains on heightened alert following nights of unrest stemming from the police killing of Walter Wallace Jr.

If it is what it looks like, it signals that the domestic terrorists' war on America is going to a newer and much more dangerous level.  A working analysis suggests that up until now, they've contented themselves with burning and looting shops, creating big fires, assaulting cops and the elderly, and terrorizing outdoor diners.  It may be that the impact of that has worn off, and nobody's paying as much attention now.  And with an election on, some Democratic pols suddenly are tut-tutting their looting and violence.  So to stay scary and relevant, they're taking it to a sickening new Weather Underground–style level with truck bombs.

This is the kind of thing that went on in Medellín, Colombia in the 1980s and 1990s as drug lord Pablo Escobar (working with the Marxist M-19 urban guerrilla movement) sought to take over.  He borrowed the idea (and training) from the Irish Republican Army to spread terror and empty the streets so that only drug lords would have freedom of movement.  When I visited Medellín a few years ago, people would tell me they were terrified to walk down the street because any parked car could be a two-ton mega-bomb.  Public art was a target, too — a huge bronze Botero statue depicting peace had a bomb planted in it and was torn to shreds.  The aim was always to spread terror.

The Weather Underground was there, too, bombing and killing to cause terror, a logical outcome of the 1960s and its woke radicalism and campus protest.  Bill Ayers, who eventually became young Barack Obama's mentor, was the leader of the orgy of robberies, bombings, and killings, ending the life of at least one police officer and spreading terror and mayhem as an adoring media romanticized them.  "Guilty as sin, free as a bird," he sneered when a wokester jury let this son of a corporate titan off for his many crimes at trial.  After that, he went to teach in public universities, developing woke curricula for schools to teach children to hate their country.  "I don't regret setting bombs," Ayers said.  "I feel we didn't do enough," he told the Times in the interview that ran on 9/11.  He's also the stepfather of San Francisco's chaos-agent district attorney, Chesa Boudin, whose refusal to prosecute violent crimes has left victims furious and San Francisco a hellhole.  The Weather Underground with its alliance with the Black Panthers, in many ways, is comparable to the Antifa/BLM chaos duopoly of today.

There's still no word on who was responsible for the truck filled with explosives at a time of riot, but there's a pattern that suggests a good place to look might be Antifa.

James Jay Carafano of the Heritage Foundation has an excellent analysis of just how likely is might be that the de facto truck bomb could be linked to Antifa and BLM, based on what is happened so far with their past riots:

For starters, the violence is organized criminal activity. The same destructive activists have been identified at different times in different cities around the country. For example, in August, eight members of the Seattle-based group Riot Kitchen were arrested after wreaking havoc in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Such groups are well-supported, as seen in the viral video of a rented U-Haul truck that appeared in Louisville, Kentucky, immediately after the grand jury verdict was announced in the Breonna Taylor case. The truck was stocked with riot gear and anti-police banners.

They are well-funded. In Grand Rapids, Michigan, for instance, the Michigan Solidarity Bail Fund posted $120,000 bail for rioters. Nationwide, bail funds have received tens of millions of dollars in donations in recent months.

These organized groups have no interest in demonstrating peacefully. They are showing up intending to commit violence. In Portland, Oregon, rioters came to the Portland courthouse armed with fireworks, Molotov cocktails, a circular saw, crowbars, rocks, frozen water bottles and spikes – all instruments for conducting offensive actions.

The Riot Kitchen was a leftist collective with its origins in Antifa's Seattle CHOP zone.  It was picked up by the cops in Kenosha with a supposed food truck full of war-fighting equipment, canned gasoline, and firework explosives.  There was also an Antifa U-Haul truck incident in Kentucky. Like the 1995 Oklahoma City bomber, they seem to like trucks.

Now there's this mysterious truck full of explosives in Philadelphia during its riots. Anyone see a pattern? Maybe Antifa is more than just "an idea" as FBI director Christopher Wray described to Congress (and you can bet Antifa was snickerin). It takes big money and significant organization to create a truck bomb, bigger still when it's a pattern of using trucks to cause mayhem, often filled with explosives.

These groups thrive when law enforcement is asleep, as unfortunately appears to be the case of the FBI. Maybe they're being quiet about it, but we have yet to see any busts, takedowns, or arrests, not with a group that has Democratic allies and endorsers in Congress. Assorted Antifa Twitter sites endorse Joe Biden.  Philadelphia's Antifa has been quiet in the past month or so and tweets mostly about its tangles and attacks on the Proud Boys, but they recently posted a gif of a puppet called 'Gritty' that interests them against a backdrop of fire.

With truck bombs coming into the picture, maybe this group should draw more attention from law enforcement. The mystery is why it's not happening.

The Irony of American History and Russian Disinformation - Chris Farrell

 by Chris Farrell

You should go to your polling place in-person and "vote angry." You've been lied to – savagely – for nearly four years. Go ahead and take your electoral revenge.

  • One must also consider the "arguments" about the "evidence" of Russian disinformation. First off, we have unending "investigations" by various bodies and persons who are not qualified to investigate a price check at Wal-Mart. Here, I speak of persons like Adam Schiff or the members and staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

  • Second, we have the "tv experts." These folks are usually the former heads of the agencies and departments that are actually guilty of the subversion and sedition that got us to this point. Think of John Brennan giving his expert opinion on the innocence and honor of James Comey. When any of these characters (and paid CNN contributors) invokes Russian disinformation (usually quoting each other), you know they are lying. Period.

  • Of course, anyone who asks questions about any of the logical disconnects and fallacies of any alleged Russian disinformation campaign must be on Putin's payroll. Ask a question? Sure "comrade," go ahead!

  • It is terribly important to be reminded of all these things just a few days before the election. You should go to your polling place in-person and "vote angry." You've been lied to – savagely – for nearly four years. Go ahead and take your electoral revenge.

We have been subjected to four years of large parts of the US government shrieking about Russia and the threats posed by that country to the safety of our republic. How did so many miss their own serial treasons, in concert with the Soviet and Russian governments, dating back to 1917? Let us refresh our recollections of how so many Americans reframed history and disinformation. Some of the following may be "lost history" to you, but that is okay, because we definitely need some reminders before election day.

FDR himself personally schmoozed Soviet Commissar for Foreign Affairs Maxim Litvinov in the White House and acknowledged the USSR diplomatically for no US advantage whatsoever in November of 1933. When Litvinov returned to his embassy from the White House, he openly mocked FDR's naïveté and gullibility to his staff.

FDR's "co-president," Kremlin-loving Harry Hopkins, has been airbrushed out of the history of the FDR White House. Hopkins went on to live in the FDR's Lincoln Bedroom between May 1940 and December 1943 while running the entire Lend-Lease Program. Hopkins bellowed "All hail to the Russian people and their gallant army!" in Madison Square Garden on June 23, 1942, while promoting US war aid to the Soviet Union.

The usual rebuff to this sort of inconvenient historical observation is, "Oh, but that was when the Soviets were our allies!" If you are satisfied with that explanation, then I recommend reading Stan Evans, Diana West and Paul Kengor in order that you to get much-needed additional information and perspective.

How about when Ted Kennedy asked the Soviets to intervene in the 1984 elections? You may remember that Kennedy derisively coined the phrase "Star Wars" to mock Reagan's "Strategic Defense Initiative" and aided the Soviet Union by opposing the program. Americans repeat "Star Wars" like parrots and do not even know why or how the term came to be associated with the program. Kennedy was not alone in his "Soviet friendship." The FBI ran a program monitoring congressional contacts with the Soviet embassy for nearly 40 years, and they still will not release those records.

What about Barack Obama's wooing and collusion with Medvedev on a "hot mic," with a special message for Vladimir? Hillary Clinton conjured up the fake Trump-Russia scheme, and then paid political operative cut-outs and Russians to advance the story.

There is a 100-year-old pattern.

The Soviet Union and modern-day Russia are expert practitioners of deception, provocation, diversion, active measures, and double-agentry -- all of the tools and techniques of disinformation. Deception and manipulation are the goals of the disinformation. False information itself is not enough. There is a desired outcome. Decisions must be affected. Changes made. People persuaded. Actions taken.

One hundred years ago, there was a cottage industry of forgeries peddled around the embassies, consulates, attaches and spies of European capitals. Some of the forgers were criminals looking to make a fortune, but most were Soviet agents sowing confusion. Letters, documents, reports, maps, diagrams, etc. -- all forms of records, both physical and sometimes photographic reproductions that were used to tell a certain story to a certain audience. Books were also generated for deceptive purposes -- writing and rewriting "facts" and "history" to serve on another front of the political war. It is really no different today. We have the "Steele dossier" and James Comey running around on his book tour(s). There really is "nothing new under the sun."

We are supposed to believe that the life-long career "friends of Russia" are suddenly terrified by Russia. Someone should have told Bernie Sanders. This sudden alarm over Russia by its erstwhile admirers is similar to the "old switcheroo" many Democrats did on civil rights for Black Americans. Lincoln and the Republican abolitionists freed the slaves of the Confederacy from Democrats through a bloody civil war, suffering 600,000+ casualties. Many of today's Democrats pretend Republicans were Alabama plantation owners. Half the Republicans agree, or do not understand the insidious lie.

Many switched party affiliation colors during the 2000 election. America now stupidly assigns Republicans the color of revolutionary, communist red. That was and is always the color of the Left. Hence "Red Army," "Red Square," etc. Republicans are too stupid and lazy to challenge it in the media and their own branding, so now a whole generation of Americans have been brainwashed and do not know any better. In fact, they are proud to be "Reds!" So sad.

One must also consider the "arguments" about the "evidence" of Russian disinformation. First off, we have unending "investigations" by various bodies and persons who are not qualified to investigate a price check at Walmart. Here, I speak of persons like Adam Schiff or the members and staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Second, we have the "TV experts." These folks are usually the former heads of the agencies and departments that are actually guilty of the subversion and sedition that got us to this point. Think of John Brennan giving his expert opinion on the innocence and honor of James Comey. When any of these characters (and paid CNN contributors) invokes Russian disinformation (usually quoting each other), you know they are lying. Period.

Of course, anyone who asks questions about any of the logical disconnects and fallacies of any alleged Russian disinformation campaign must be on Putin's payroll. Ask a question? Sure "comrade," go ahead!

It is terribly important to be reminded of all these things just a few days before the election. You should go to your polling place in-person and "vote angry." You've been lied to -- savagely -- for nearly four years. Go ahead and take your electoral revenge.

Confidential documents related to the Biden family have vanished UPDATED - Andrea Widburg

 by Andrea Widburg

On Wednesday, Tucker Carlson told a disturbing tale about incriminating Biden-related documents that vanished during shipping.

UPDATE: It turns out that my conspiracy theory was just a theory, not a conspiracy:

A spokesman for UPS told The Daily Beast on Thursday that they had located a mysterious packaged that Fox News host Tucker Carlson suggested had been deliberately misplaced or intercepted because it contained “damning” materials on the Biden family. “After an extensive search, we have found the contents of the package and are arranging for its return,” the spokesman said. “UPS will always focus first on our customers, and will never stop working to solve issues and make things right.”

A friend has pointed out that this still leaves questions unanswered. This wasn't a missing package. This was a package that was found open and empty. The whole thing is peculiar.

Original post:

Everyone knows the old joke that "even paranoid people have enemies."  Perhaps that needs to be expanded to say, "Even conspiracy theorists sometimes stumble across real conspiracies."  During his Wednesday night show, Tucker Carlson said a source had sent documents about more Biden shenanigans to Fox News's New York office. Carlson's producer forwarded the documents to Los Angeles, where Carlson was interviewing Tony Bobulinski — but the documents vanished along the way.

Carlson explained that, on Monday, his producer deposited the envelope with a major American shipping company. However, by Tuesday morning, the shipping company notified Carlson's team that the envelope was now open and empty.

The shipping company carefully tracked the envelope's progress across the country, beginning in Manhattan.  It learned that at 3:44 in the morning on Tuesday, an employee noticed that the envelope was open and empty.  The company interviewed every employee who touched the envelope and searched the drop-off office, the airplanes, the trucks, and the sorting warehouse through which the envelope passed.  It found nothing.  According to Carlson, the company has no idea what happened and doesn't like it.

We must hope that the source who sent the documents in the first place made copies.  Or perhaps that Fox News in Manhattan made copies.  [Update: copies exist.]  That's just common sense when allowing any unique and valuable information to leave your custody.

Now for the paranoid conspiracy theory part.  This theory's predicate is that it wasn't random that, of all the envelopes that pass through the shipping company's hands, this was the one that ended up open and empty.  If the documents' vanishing wasn't accidental, it means that someone knew what was in that envelope and could track it until the point at which it could be intercepted.

There are only two reasonable choices for that someone: a Fox News employee and a member of America's intelligence agencies.  The Fox News employee would have known what the envelope contained, but there's very little likelihood that the employee would have the resources to track the package and abscond with the contents.  If that's true, the most likely suspect is someone working in government intelligence.

Four years ago, I would never have considered for a second that agents were spying on an American media outlet, tracking documents, and stealing them.  It sounds like the plot of a silly novel or movie.

However, a lot has changed in four years.  We've learned that actors in America's intelligence agencies have actively engaged in spycraft within America's borders to affect political outcomes.  If the swamp could attempt a coup against a duly elected president, why shouldn't we assume that the same swamp rats would interfere with the media to protect one of their own?

Incidentally, when I say "one of their own," I mean someone whom they could control.  Writing at Conservative Treehouse, Sundance points out something obvious: America's spy agencies must have been fully aware of Biden's activities (since he was vice president when he was arranging these deals for his family), and they could scarcely have been unaware of Hunter Biden's drug problems, sexual excesses, and big-money deals as he followed his father around the world:

So, knowing that, why did the U.S. intelligence apparatus not do anything about it?

Yet, at no point did anyone do anything to try and stop the construction of the schemes?

It just doesn't make any sense… unless….

…Unless the objective of those within the U.S. intelligence background (writ large) was to capture and retain all of this information as part of a black file for use as leverage/control later on against a Biden administration, and likely the Biden family.

The transparent lack of effort by the U.S. intelligence community to intercept the Biden issues well in advance of the compromise of national security, is alarming.  However, it must be considered their lack of action was a purposeful decision…. and then the motive of those entities really becomes the bigger question.

Yes, it sounds far-fetched, but, as I said, we already know that there are people in the United States government who will stop at nothing to control the person in the White House — and, if they can't control him, to remove him.

Until I hear from Tucker Carlson's lips that the materials were found safe and that their temporary absence had an entirely innocent cause, I'm sorry to say that some part of me is going to suspect America's intelligence agencies.
