An attorney for the billionaire said the failure to disclose the true number of bots put Twitter "in material breach of multiple provisions" of the agreement the two parties had made.

Elon Musk on Monday morning poked fun at Twitter's attempt to force his bid to purchase the short form online platform to go through.

The Tesla CEO tweeted out four images of himself laughing with the accompanying caption, "They said I couldn't buy Twitter. Then they wouldn't disclose bot information. Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to disclose bot information in court."

The tweet was followed with a picture of action star Chuck Norris playing chess with the caption, "Chuckmate."

Late Friday, Musk announced he was pulling out of his agreement to buy Twitter, citing a lack of information about the number of bot accounts that populate the site.

An attorney for the billionaire said the failure to disclose the true number of bots put Twitter "in material breach of multiple provisions" of the agreement the two parties had made.

The company says it will pursue legal action "to enforce the merger" in response to Musk's termination of the deal.

Shares of Twitter were down 7% Monday morning following the news. Shares of the company had already tumbled dramatically to about $34.30-a-share since Musk put in his agreed-upon bid of $54.20-a-share back in April. Shares of Musk's Tesla have also fallen about one-third since April.
