In his address, Sa'ar criticized the UN's lack of response after the release of the videos from Hamas and the PIJ of hostages Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar stated that Hamas and its “propaganda machine” have turned the world upside down. “A huge part of the international media is both ignoring the truth and buying its lies,” he said at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting on the situation in the Middle East on Tuesday.

In his speech, Sa'ar emphasized that the UNSC and the global community must finally condemn Hamas and hold the terrorist group accountable for its crimes.

He also criticized the UN's lack of response after the release of videos from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) showing hostages Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski.

"Do you know what the UN Secretary-General Guterres tweeted after the horrific photos of Evyatar and Rom were released? Not a word! Deafening silence!"

“Yet we also see his endless and obsessive tweets against Israel, time and again," Sa'ar noted.

He added that he read the New York Times after the video of David was released on Friday evening.

“I looked but could not find Evyatar on the front page,” Sa'ar said, holding up a copy of the newspaper. “And then, I couldn’t find his picture in any of the papers.”

“I call on the international media: put Evyatar and Rom front and center. Is this not newsworthy?” he asked.

Sa'ar continued, “We are witnessing the anti-Israel agenda of so much of the global media. They shift the responsibility of the kidnappers and rapists to the attacked country. They shift the blame from the terrorists to the victims.

He then addressed the rise of “psychotic antisemitism around the world, flamed by modern blood libels.”

Sa'ar stated that Jews are hunted around the world, simply because they are Jews.

“But it is not the only war on earth,” he said. “But it is the only case, people are hunted everywhere because of their nationality.”

Hostage deal assassinated by those who support Palestinian state

Prior to the UNSC meeting, Sa’ar said in a statement at the UN that those who continue to back a Palestinian state have "directly assassinated the hostage deal and ceasefire."

"They gave Hamas free gifts. Let me be clear: These countries prolonged the war," he said.
