In its efforts to increase pressure on Iran, the United States is hoping that the very people who brought the ayatollahs to power will be the ones who drive them out.
With
U.S. President Donald Trump withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal and
reinstating sanctions on Tehran, the Iranian masses have grown agitated
and now threaten the ayatollah regime's continued existence. The
Americans have also asked countries like Saudi Arabia to increase their
oil production because they know lower oil prices will further devastate
Iran's economy and the suffering Iranian people will respond by turning
up the pressure on the regime.
Yet there have been no condemnation[s] of
these measures, which collectively punish of [sic] the people of the Shiite
terror state. This ancient strategy, which seeks to move the very people
who chose the tyrants to drive them out, is proving effective.
Demonstrators in "besieged" Iran demand their money, which has gone
toward military efforts in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, be instead spent
on the poor people at home.
Yes, our hypocritical world has made no
effort to speak up for Iran and the poor citizens affected by this
beneficial strategy. But in our region, the absurd condemnation of the
"siege" on the citizens who elected Hamas in Gaza continues. If we
improve Gazans' lives, they argue, the terrorism will end. These people
would have us "go over Hamas' head" to provide Gazans with electricity,
concrete, a port, goods, jobs in Israel and food, knowing full well that
the terrorist organization will take advantage of our folly to re-arm.
Allah only knows where those who adhere to
this absurd belief draw their logic: there is no occupation or siege on
Gaza. Thousands of trucks enter the territory every month, loaded with
goods that, if Hamas saw fit, could be used to make Gaza thrive. In
practice, the "occupation" has been turned as leverage by those who seek
our destruction, and Israel's charred fields and the lives of its
bombarded residents are the product of the illusions of "dialogue and
coexistence."
Just as no humanitarian calls were made for
the inhabitants of German cities bombed by the Americans during World
War II in their efforts to put an end to the German war machine, so too
were there no calls against the allies' merciless attacks on Islamic
State and al-Qaida. Nor with Iran.
Force, pain, destruction and pressure are
the only mean by which terrorist organizations and totalitarian regimes
like Germany, Iran and Gaza can be made to change their policy and
surrender. That is why there was no condemnation of the allies' bombing
of German cities like Dresden during World War II, the merciless
assaults on Islamic State and al-Qaida or the current U.S. policy toward
Iran.
Threats issued by senior Iranian officials
like Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani that "if Iran is not allowed
to export oil, no country will" are indicative of the increasing
pressure on the regime and the effectiveness of this historically proven
method to bring about change and limit Tehran's ability to fund the
activities of its allies in places such as Yemen, Syria, Iraq and
Lebanon.
In clear contradiction to U.S. policy, the
Europeans adamantly adhere to their internal and hypocritical economic
and political considerations, taking steps to compensate companies that
stick to the nuclear deal and continue to do business with the Iranians.
It is not by chance that Palestinian
Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who knows the people of Gaza well,
has imposed sanctions on the Hamas regime. In light of the absurd ideas
being touted in our parts, Abbas understand that Hamas' continued rule
spells the end for the fictitious future Palestinian state, and is,
therefore, determined to bring down Hamas the historically proven way;
with a genuine siege that will breed civil disobedience and result in
its downfall.
