The militant subversion demonstrated by Arab MKs raises a hard question: Who are their real masters?
Balad MKs Hanin Zoabi, Jamal Zahalka and Basel Ghattas' meeting with the families of terrorists killed during the recent surge in violence demonstrated that using the dead for political gain is apparently more important to them than improving the quality of life of Israeli Arabs.
Terrorists' graves have never been in popular demand, but all of a sudden, the bodies of terrorists sent to murder Jews have become a Palestinian attraction. If the Palestinians have learned anything from the Jews about the value of death, they may someday learn something from us about the value of life.
The meeting saw the MKs pray and observe a moment of silence in memory of the "shahids" (martyrs) while the dead terrorists' families protested their "execution at the scene."
Zoabi, Zahalka and Ghattas are well aware of the fact that the funeral services given to terrorists only escalate tensions and boost recruitment among the terrorist groups. Much like their friends in the Palestinian Liberation Organization, the three support a "popular uprising," where every terrorist is free to choose between throwing rocks and firebombs; carrying out stabbing, shooting, or ramming attacks; or using explosives.
The question is, do Israeli Arabs support the provocations carried out by the majority of Joint Arab List MKs? Many say they voted for the party but oppose its subversiveness. Everyone is aware of the fact that the Arab MKs' constant intifada-mongering creates doubts over whether the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria truly seek peaceful coexistence. One has to wonder why those who understand the destructive potential of the Arab MKs' conduct do not speak up.
Palestinian terrorist organizations change their political agenda and operational tactics according to their sponsors' -- Syria, Iraq, Iran or the Gulf states -- agenda. Similar logic guides the radical left-wing groups in Israel and worldwide seeking to undermine the elected Israeli government on behalf of whoever pays their bills.
The militant subversion demonstrated by Arab MKs raises a hard question: Who are their real masters? Could it be Iran? Or perhaps Qatar, which sponsors Hamas and has been playing host to Balad's former leader, the treacherous Azmi Bishara? Could their actions be directed by the Palestinian Authority? Could they be moles, doing the bidding of Hamas or Islamic State?
The Joint Arab List is making cynical use of Israeli democracy in its effort to destroy it. They cannot stand the fact the Jewish state is flourishing and safe, while their Arab brethren across the Middle East are killing each other, butchering Christians and other "infidels," and burning down churches and mosques. It is like they have tired of the possibility of living in Israel as equals, and therefore are making a considerable effort to import the "popular uprising" to Israel.
Zoabi, Zahalka and Ghattas are oblivious to the catastrophe they are inflicting on Israeli Arabs. Moreover, their tortuous explanations are an insult to the Israeli public's intelligence. The Israeli public, meanwhile, is losing hope in the notion of peace: the Jews had hoped Israeli Arabs would be a bridge to coexistence with the Palestinians, only to learn that Arab MKs are conspiring against peace.
