SkyBridge Capital CEO and former White House Communications director Anthony Scaramucci spoke at the National Council of Young Israel (NCYI) event in New York last night. "What you need to know about your culture is that you are the beacon for Earth's civilization. What you need to know about your culture going right back to the foundation stone and the whole concept of monotheism, from that sprung forth all of our modern technology, from that sprung forth the civilization and modernity that we're living in today.
"And what you need to know about your culture is that you are the first domino in the attack on liberty, the first domino in the attack on individual spirit, and all of the concepts of the West. And so the great Winston Churchill once said about why he is a Zionist, he said he was a Zionist because it was right to be one, and he said if that domino were ever to fall, as related to the Jewish people, it may not hit your domino - your domino may not be the first one - but your domino will be included in that as your dominoes fall off the table."
"And so, ladies and gentlemen, you have to be very proud of who you are, and you have to be very proud of what you represent to the world. And you can't back down in the fight, because when you're successful, and you are doing well and your family's got a lot of naches," using the Yiddish term for gratification, bringing his audience much naches, "When you are doing super-well, and you have that kvelling," - savoring and appreciating all the good - "you're gonna get haters; you're gonna get people who are envious, people who are going to strike out against you for no reason, other than the pain that they feel themselves. That's ultimately where it comes from.
"So what I'm here to tell you is that you can never, under any circumstances, give up the fight. Give up the fight for your family, give up the fight for your religion, give up the fight for your society, and the fairness of the civilization."
