Democrats have duplicated the Soviet propaganda machine - James Zumwalt

by James Zumwalt

They’re copying Lenin and Stalin—AGAIN.

Today’s Democrat party has learned from experts how to promote propaganda.

Consider what happened in the 1980s as AIDS became a global health crisis.

Seeking to focus blame on the U.S. for the breakout, the Soviet Union portrayed AIDS as a biological weapon the Americans had developed. The false claim was taken up by media sources, triggering various conspiracy theories about U.S. involvement. The Soviet’s campaign sought to promote anti-American sentiment, triggering fear and distrust of the U.S.

It would take several years for the truth to emerge that AIDS originated not as a biological weapon in a U.S. lab but from the Human Immunodeficiency Virus—transmitted to humans through the consumption of infected primate meat. But, by the time the truth emerged, many in the Third World had heard and accepted the Soviet version.

We see a similar propagandist approach taken by Democrats today to promote inaccuracies with an anti-Republican Party spin.

Democrats have received some help from the left-leaning New York Times. That publication made the claim that, under President Donald Trump, we are now losing our democracy. Its editorial board compiled a list of twelve indicators of alleged democratic erosion. However, if these were applied to the prior administration of President Joe Biden, we can see the publication apparently had no concerns that he had met many of the same indicators. As such, it suggests the NYT list was created only as a propagandizing tool to feed an anti-Trump sentiment.

Ironically, of the twelve listed points the NYT identified about Trump but not about Biden include the following:

  • “Stifles dissent and speech”—but the NYT ignored the fact that courts have determined the Biden administration had coordinated efforts to influence social‑media moderation during the COVID pandemic.
  • “Persecutes political opponents”—but the NYT ignored Biden’s prosecutions of former pro-Trump people such as advisors Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, and General Michael Flynn.
  • “Bypasses the legislature”—but the NYT ignored Biden’s claim a 28th Amendment (the dubiously-named Equal Rights Amendment) now exists despite the timeline Congress set for its passage having already expired.
  • “Uses power for personal profit”—but the NYT ignored Biden family members who were found to have profited from foreign sources in the amount of $10 million.
  • “Defies the courts”—but the NYT ignored numerous accusations against Biden for “circumventing the courts” in several high-profile policy areas including student loan relief, race-conscious college admissions, etc.

In a recent speech to followers, former Vice President Kamala Harris jumped on the “we are losing our democracy” bandwagon by criticizing Trump’s actions. Interestingly, she included his decisions made concerning the war with Iran. Keep in mind that during her presidential campaign, she readily admitted Iran posed a significant threat to the U.S., noting that all options were on the table. However, she now criticizes the president, adding in a losing our democracy sound bite whenever possible.

What is interesting, however, is that Harris still fails to recognize how she personally was involved in a clear example of a failure of democracy during her watch. That failure resulted in her selection—by the Democrat party leadership and not the voters—as to who would replace Biden as he stepped down from the presidential ballot. Democracy turned its head to launch her presidential campaign, making her the only known beneficiary in American history of such a failure. Yet she now leads the list of possible 2028 Democrat presidential candidates, while lecturing us about Trump endangering our democracy.

Democrats are promoting propaganda in their fight against the SAVE America Act, a bill which Republicans have backed to ensure only U.S. citizens vote in our federal elections. Although this is already the law of the land it’s not followed, and the new proposals would add a layer of documentation to verify citizenship—an addition Democrats oppose, claiming it seeks to make it harder for married women to vote.

Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-Mich) claims the act would result in married women being unable to vote unless they change their birth certificate to match other government-issued identification. This is totally incorrect as even the law of her own state requires birth certificates only be changed if an error exists. There is no basis for changing it should a woman get married, thus making Scholten’s claim of making it harder for women to vote false. Married women can in fact still obtain IDs quite easily.

Also adding to the Democrats’ propaganda campaign is the party’s nominee in the upcoming Texas senate race involving Rep.James Talarico (D-TX). Seeking to inflame voters that the wealthy avoid having to pay taxes, he claimed Elon Musk paid none, leaving young people to foot the tax bill. Musk posted that this year alone he will pay over $11 billion in taxes.

The Soviet propaganda machine was highly successful during the Cold War. In November, we will learn whether the Democrats’ propaganda machine works at the same level.
