Three border policemen sustained mild injuries
Sunday following clashes that broke out on the Temple Mount shortly
after it was opened for Jewish visitors.
Muslims praying in the area threw stones and Molotov cocktails at border police stationed at the Mughrabi Gate entrance.
Jewish visitors were quickly escorted from the
premises as border police officers attempted to restore order and
pursue the rioters.
One woman was arrested for suspected involvement in the clashes, and three other people were arrested later.
Meanwhile, in a move repeated each Passover,
Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon ordered a closure of Judea and Samaria
during the holiday.
The closure came into effect from midnight
Sunday, and is expected be lifted at midnight Tuesday, following a
security assessment.
