Trump: We know where some hostages are, some of them will die if we go in - Jerusalem Post Staff, Reuters

Starmer said Hamas can play no part in any future government of a Palestinian state, as he discussed the need for a ceasefire in Gaza with Trump during a meeting in Scotland.

US President Donald Trump on Monday said he disagreed with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, "that there is no hunger in Gaza because they look very hungry."

Trump, speaking to reporters at his golf resort in Turnberry, Scotland, as he welcomed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, said people in Gaza needed to get food and safety right now, and he would discuss the situation with Starmer.

"There are people who are hungry in Gaza - we are helping them, but other countries need to help as well," he continued.

Trump also mentioned that the fight in Gaza against the Hamas terrorist group would need to be different after talks on a ceasefire and hostage release fell apart last week.

Starmer said Hamas can play no part in any future government of a Palestinian state, as the US president added that Hamas had become difficult to deal with in recent days, but he was talking with Netanyahu about "various plans" to free hostages still held in Gaza.

"We know where the hostages are in some cases, we don't want to go to those exact areas because that means the hostages will be killed," Trump said.

Regarding Iran, Trump said that the country has been sending out "nasty signals" and any effort to restart its nuclear program will be immediately squashed.

"They've been sending very bad signals, very nasty signals. And they shouldn't be doing that. .. We wiped out their nuclear possibilities. They can start again. If they do, we'll wipe it out faster than you can wave your finger at it," he said.

Pressure from US over Gaza aid

Israeli officials have been under increasing pressure from major allies in Washington in recent days to allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza, two sources told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

“Help us help you,” members of the US Congress and Senate reportedly urged Israeli officials. “We don’t believe the claims of widespread famine in Gaza, but you must take concrete steps to allow aid in.”

The message came from both senior Republican lawmakers in Congress and officials in the White House, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

Trump weighed in on the issue, saying, “It’s terrible to see the children, especially in recent weeks. People are stealing food, stealing money, stealing money meant for food. It’s a mess, the whole place is a mess. Gaza.”

Amichai Stein contributed to this report.

This is a developing story.

Gaza ‘starvation’ poster child has genetic condition, left Strip with Israel’s help - JNS Staff

by JNS Staff

"Osama suffers from a serious genetic illness unrelated to the war," stated the Defense Ministry's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) unit.

A Gaza boy who became the poster child for the alleged famine caused by the war in the Strip suffers from a genetic illness and was evacuated for treatment last month, the Israeli Defense Ministry said on Monday.

A picture of Osama al-Rakab, 5, was “used to falsely depict Israel as responsible for his condition, claiming Israel is starving children,” including in Italian media and on Al Jazeera, Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) unit stated.

“Osama suffers from a serious genetic illness unrelated to the war. On June 12, we actively coordinated Osama’s exit from Gaza with his mother and brother through the Ramon airport,” stated COGAT.

The boy is currently being treated in an Italian hospital, it continued.

“Tragic images rightfully stir strong emotions, but when they’re misused to fuel hatred and lies, they do more harm than good,” said COGAT. “Don’t let compassion be exploited for propaganda.

“Check the facts before parroting blame,” the Defense Ministry unit stated, attaching a picture showing Osama in a hospital gown in Italy.

The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday morning announced a series of humanitarian measures aimed at refuting “the false claim of deliberate starvation” in Gaza, including “tactical pauses” in the war on Hamas.

While emphasizing that “combat operations have not ceased” across the Strip, the IDF said pauses in military activities would be instituted in Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City “every day until further notice.”

The decision to cease fighting in those areas between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. was coordinated with United Nations officials and other international organizations “following discussions regarding the matter,” it stated.

Humanitarian corridors will be established to enable the movement of U.N. convoys delivering food and medicine to Gazans. The secure aid routes will remain in place permanently between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.

The IDF added that it was prepared to expand the scale of its humanitarian response in the coastal enclave “as required.”

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) told NBC‘s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that since the war started, Jerusalem has supplied over 94,000 truckloads of food, “enough to feed two million people for two years.”

“But Hamas has stolen the food,” Johnson continued. “In fact, in 2024, the numbers are that Hamas profited over $500 million in stolen food aid that was supposed to go to these poor people who needed it.”

Calling the ongoing United Nations-led aid efforts in the Strip a “broken system,” the politician noted the IDF will be “opening new channels of distribution to get it to those people who are desperately in need—that’s Israel’s intention and that is the U.S.’s intention and the U.N. as well.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a gathering of evangelical Christians in Jerusalem on Sunday that “there is no starvation in Gaza … and I assure you that we have a commitment to achieve our war goals.

“We will continue to fight till we achieve the release of our hostages and the destruction of Hamas’s military and governing capabilities. They shall be there no more.”

Armed Marine veteran stops Michigan Walmart stabbing suspect - Stephen Sorace

by Stephen Sorace

Derrick Perry held knife-wielding man at gunpoint without firing a shot until authorities arrived

An armed bystander was seen on video heroically stopping a knife-wielding man who authorities say stabbed 11 people at a Walmart in Michigan on Saturday.

The man, identified by family as Derrick Perry, is seen in the video pointing a firearm at the suspect in the store’s parking lot in Traverse City as he and other bystanders shout "drop the knife!" Perry is a Marine veteran, the New York Post reported, citing his family.

"What they did was amazing," Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea told reporters during a media briefing on Sunday.

Perry and the other bystanders ended the suspect’s rampage without firing a shot and held him until authorities arrived to take the man into custody without injury.

"First of all, I commend them. It's not very often that we have citizens that are willing to step up and take action, and I ask that we grant them the privacy that they need right now," the sheriff said. "If they choose to make a public statement, they will. But I would ask that we all just give them a little space and say, attaboy."

The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Bradford James Gille, of Afton, Mich., acted alone when he entered the store wielding a folding knife with a 3.5-inch blade, the sheriff said. He faces terrorism charges and 11 charges of assault with intent to murder.

The 11 victims, ranging in age from 29 to 84-years-old, were all expected to survive, Munson Healthcare officials said. One patient has been released while five were listed in fair condition, two in good condition, one in serious condition and two others were treated and transferred as of Monday morning.

Trump 'disappointed' in Putin, says he'll reduce 50-day deadline - Caitlin McFall

by Caitlin McFall

President Donald Trump issues new deadline to Russian President Vladimir Putin 10-12 days from Monday

President Donald Trump on Monday said he was "very disappointed" in Russian President Vladimir Putin and said he will "reduce" the original 50-day deadline he set earlier this month to 10–12 days from today.

"I’m going to make a new deadline, of about 10, 10 or 12 days from today," Trump told reporters from Scotland. "There’s no reason for waiting. It was 50 days. I wanted to be generous, but we just don’t see any progress being made."

Trump originally set a 50-day deadline for Putin to reach a peace deal on July 14 while meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte in Washington, D.C. However, by moving up the deadline to 12-days from Monday, he cut the overall end date in half.

TRUMP MEETS WITH UK PRIME MINISTER STARMER ON HEELS OF EU TRADE DEAL

"I'm not so interested in talking anymore," Trump told reporters while sitting next to British Prime Minister Kier Starmer after he said Moscow and Washington "might make a deal" ahead of the secondary sanctions set to be implemented now in less than two weeks.

"He talks – we have such nice conversations, such respectful and nice conversation. And then, people die the following night," Trump added on Monday.

Trump told reporters earlier in the day that he was "very disappointed" in Putin

"So we're going to have to look, and I'm going to reduce that 50 days that I gave him to a lesser number, because I think I already know the answer."

Trump’s comments came just hours after Russia unleashed more than 300 drones and missiles across Ukraine, prompting not only Kyiv to scramble its air force, but Poland’s Operational Command said it too had deployed fighter jets to the sky.

"I would have said five times we would have had a deal. I've spoken to President Putin a lot," Trump told reporters, echoing his previous frustration that speaking with Putin has yielded little to no results. "But we've had discussions…we thought we had that settled numerous times.

"And then President Putin goes out and such, launching rockets into some city like Kyiv and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever. You have bodies lying all over the street," Trump continued. "And I say, that's not the way to do it. So we'll see what happens."

No deaths have yet been confirmed from the early morning strikes that hit the capital city of Kyiv, wounding at least five, including a 2-year-old girl. The other strikes targeted the Khmelnytskyi region to the west of Kyiv and the Kirovohrad region to the south of Kyiv.

FROM TALK TO TACTICS: TRUMP PIVOTS ON RUSSIA STRATEGY TO END WAR

Additional casualties have not been reported.

The Ukrainian air force reported on Monday that 324 Shahed-type attack and decoy drones were fired along with four Kh-101 cruise missiles and three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.

Ukraine’s air defense systems reportedly shot down 309 UAVs and two Kh-101 cruise missiles.

Two of the cruise missiles and 15 drones hit targets in three locations, while three of the Kinzhal missiles apparently failed to reach their intended targets.

"Our unmanned defenses delivered strong results against ‘Shaheds’ – dozens of Russian drones were shot down. Several missiles were also intercepted overnight," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a message on X. "Unfortunately, not all of them – there were also hits.

"But we are constantly strengthening Ukraine’s air shield, and it is vital to maintain clear understanding among partners of how exactly they can help," he added. "Step by step, we are closing the funding gap for drone production, and I will be holding new talks with partners on this task later this week."

Judge blocks 'One Big Beautiful Bill' provision barring Medicaid payments to Planned Parenthood - Natalie Mittelstadt

by Natalie Mittelstadt

U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani said the provision in the bill was likely unconstitutional

A federal judge on Monday blocked a provision in the Republicans' "One Big Beautiful Bill" that barred Medicaid reimbursements from going to Planned Parenthood.

U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani in Boston, an Obama appointee, issued a preliminary injunction, saying it was likely unconstitutional to specifically target Planned Parenthood's health centers for punishment for providing abortions, Reuters reported.

The provisions contained in the bill prohibit abortion providers from receiving Medicaid funding for up to one year for any other reproductive health services they may provide.

The Department of Justice argued that "the bill stops federal subsidies for Big Abortion" and urged the judge not to let Planned Parenthood and its members "supplant duly enacted legislation with their own policy preferences."

Talwani ruled that the law's text and structure were clearly crafted for all members of the parent organization Planned Parenthood Federation of America, even if they were not named. Because of the specificity, it likely makes the provision an unconstitutional "bill of attainder," an act of Congress that wrongly seeks to inflict punishment without a trial, according to the judge.

"Plaintiffs are likely to establish that Congress singled them out with punitive intent," Talwani wrote.

She added that the provision violated the U.S. Constitution's Fifth Amendment equal protection rights for Planned Parenthood, and burdened some of its members who do not provide abortions to associate with their parent organization in a likely violation of the First Amendment.

"We will keep fighting this cruel law so that everyone can get birth control, STI testing and treatment, cancer screenings, and other critical health care, no matter their insurance," Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Alexis McGill Johnson said in a statement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday accused the United Nations of lying about the entry of humanitarian supplies to Palestinians in Gaza, pledging to continue letting minimal aid into the territory.

“We will eliminate Hamas,” he reiterated during a visit to the Ramon Air Force Base in the Negev Desert.

“In order to complete this goal, and also the release of our hostages, we are making progress in fighting and negotiating,” Netanyahu said. “In any path we choose, we will have to continue to allow the entry of minimal humanitarian supplies. We have done this until now.”

The prime minister accused the U.N. of lying about the entry of Israeli aid and making up excuses for not distributing it until now.

“It says we are not allowing humanitarian supplies to enter. It is allowed. There are secured convoys. There have been all along, but today it is official. There will be no more excuses.”

Netanyahu added: “We will continue to fight, we will continue to act until we achieve all of our war goals—until complete victory.”

Intel board chairman wants security clearances revoked, spies fired over Russiagate and other abuses - John Solomon

by John Solomon

“There's lots of criminals here, and it was a grand conspiracy," Devin Nunes tells Just the News.

The chairman of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board says he believes crimes were committed by intelligence and law enforcement officials who relentlessly pursued President Donald Trump over the last decade, and he also wants to make sure that spies who abused their powers are stripped of their security clearances and their jobs.

"Look, it's really simple. There's lots of criminals here, and it was a grand conspiracy," former House Intelligence Committee Chairman and current PIAB chief Devin Nunes told Just the News.

"Remember, we made, I don't know, a dozen criminal referrals when I was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee," he added during an exclusive interview on the Just the News, No Noise television show Thursday night.

Nunes said whether people are prosecuted now will depend on whether the statute of limitations for crimes have expired, or whether those deadlines get extended by the pursuit of a conspiracy case. He said he's comfortable leaving those decisions to FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The former Republican lawmaker from California said he's focused in his role as the head of the civilian oversight board for U.S. intelligence  on making sure that intelligence officers face discipline and consequences, regardless of whether they are prosecuted eventually.

"I just continue to be fascinated by the people who are still carrying a security clearance. It's amazing who are still in these agencies," Nunes said. "And I'm just shaking my head like every time I turn around, like, wait, wait, wait, wasn't that person in that position a Russia hoax person.

"All of those people need to get their security clearances pulled, and they should not be working anywhere near law enforcement or intelligence for that matter," he added. "So it's one of the things that our board is tasked with."

Houthis vow to target all ships linked to Israel 'regardless of nationality' - Jerusalem Post Staff

Yemen's Houthis will begin targeting any ships it can reach that deal with Israel, regardless of the company's nationality, the terrorist organization said in a statement Sunday night.

The Houthis stated that all countries who want to avoid escalation should "pressure the enemy to halt its aggression and lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip. There is no free person on this earth who can accept what is happening."

In their statement, the Houthis wrote that the group had a "religious, moral, and humanitarian responsibility" toward the people of Gaza, and that the conditions Palestinians face would be "unacceptable to any human being, let alone Arabs and Muslims."

"The actions of the Yemeni Armed Forces express our moral and humanitarian commitment to the injustice against the brotherly Palestinian people, and all our military operations will cease immediately upon the cessation of aggression against Gaza and the lifting of the blockade," the statement concluded.

Houthi attacks on vessels in the Red Sea

Since the October 7 massacre, the Iranian proxy has consistently attacked vessels in the Red Sea in what they say are acts of solidarity with the Palestinians.

Israel, in response, has been launching attacks on Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, most notably Hodeidah port.

Earlier this month, the Houthis attacked and sank the Greek ship Eternity C.

"We remain deeply concerned for the welfare of the crew members in the custody of the Houthis, as well as for those currently unaccounted for," Ellie Shafik, head of intelligence with UK-based maritime risk management company Vanguard Tech, said following the attack. "Their safety and swift release must be a priority for all involved."

Currently, 12 members of the vessel's crew are said to be missing or held hostage by the terrorist group.

Netanyahu slams UN: Israel has always allowed minimal Gaza aid, now it's official - Jerusalem Post Staff

Netanyahu, speaking from the Israel Air Force's Ramon Air Base claimed that the UN is "creating an excuse and lie about Israel," by saying that Israel is not allowing humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.

Israel will "need to continue allowing the entry of minimal humanitarian supplies" into the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday, claiming that Israel has "done this until now."

Netanyahu, speaking from the Israel Air Force's Ramon Air Base, claimed that the UN is "creating an excuse and a lie about Israel," by saying that Israel is not allowing humanitarian aid to enter the enclave.

"We are allowing [aid], there are secured routes, there always have been. But today it is official, there will be no more excuses," Netanyahu commented.

In order to complete Israel's goal of eliminating Hamas and releasing hostages, the IDF is continuing to apply pressure via its operations, and authorities are conducting negotiations, Netanyahu noted, adding that "we will achieve this goal."

"We will continue to fight, we will continue to operate until we achieve all our war objectives, until complete victory," he added.

Katz threatens to assassinate Iran's Khamenei

During the same visit, Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened again to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"I want to send a clear message to the dictator Khamenei: If you continue to threaten Israel, our long arm will once again reach Iran, with even greater force, and this time, it will reach you personally," Katz said.

"Do not threaten us, or you will be harmed," he added.

US Ambassador Mike Huckabee also commented on Israel providing aid into the Gaza Strip on X/Twitter earlier on Sunday.

"Is the UN, New York Times, and Hamas all happy now?  I'm sure Hamas is.  Their lies & propaganda destroyed cease-fire deal, tried to discredit safe and functioning GHF effort, emboldened Hamas & will result in this complete balagan! Most sad for hostage families-grief prolonged," Huckabee wrote.

"Why would Hamas demand GHF method stop? Because suddenly Hamas is promoting humanitarianism & efficiency for food delivery that Hamas couldn't loot? Right! And Jeffrey Dahmer was a master chef & should have had a cooking show," Huckabee added in a separate post.
