Fakhrizadeh had planned the nuclear “Final Solution” to the Jewish State.
Once again the European Union (EU) has shown its hypocrisy by lamenting the assassination of Iran’s nuclear project chief, Moshen Fakhrizadeh. Peter Stano, the spokesperson for Josep Borrell, the EU foreign affairs chief, tweeted that: “The killing of Moshen Fakhrizadeh and others is a criminal act and runs counter to the principle of respect for human rights that the EU stands for.” He was echoing former CIA Director John Brennan, an Obama appointee, who tweeted that, “this was a criminal act and highly reckless. It risks lethal retaliation and a new round of regional conflict.” The EU officials expressed their condolences to the family members of the individuals who were killed, while wishing a prompt recovery to any other individuals who may have been injured.
Significantly, when the EU does condemn Iran’s radical regime, it is a half-hearted condemnation. Specifically, when the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called for the “elimination of the Zionist entity” last May, the EU responded to Khamenei’s threat by stating that, “Such statements are totally unacceptable and represent a deep source of concern. They are also incompatible with the objective of a stable and peaceful Middle East region pursued by the EU.” Israel’s ambassador to Germany, Jeremy Issacharoff, responded to the EU statement, saying that, Khamenei did not just bring into question Israel’s legitimacy, he wrote explicitly about ‘eliminating the Zionist regime’ which goes from denying the Holocaust to promoting one. The gravity of his remarks is not reflected in the EU reaction that should go beyond words.”
EU officials and John Brennan also decried the elimination of arch terrorist Gen. Qassem Suleimani, the head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force. European reaction to the drone-strike killing of Suleimani and Iraqi Shiite militant chiefs travelling with him in Baghdad has been “cautious and apprehensive.” At a Fordham University forum, Brennan argued that, “There is a clear distinction between an ‘unlawful combatant,’ such as the leader of a terrorist group, and an individual acting on behalf of a sovereign state, such as a military general. According to the Geneva Convention and ‘a lot of other important foundations,’ a non-state actor is not afforded the same protections as a state actor working on behalf of a sovereign state.”
Brennan has conveniently ignored the fact that Suleimani, like Fakhrizadeh, represented a global terrorist threat. Soleimani was responsible for the death of thousands of American servicemen in Iraq and others elsewhere around the region and the world. Fakhrizadeh had sought a nuclear “final solution” to the Jewish state. Moreover, according to Brennan’s logic, Nazi leaders such as Field-Marshall Herman Goring or Heinrich Himmler, head of the SS, being state actors were not legal or legitimate targets for assassination. Brennan, who studied at the American University in Cairo, spoke at a February 13, 2010 forum in which he declared, “the goodness and beauty of Islam.” Former FBI agent, John Guandolo described Brennan as, “Interwoven his life professionally and personally with individuals that we know are terrorists, and he has given them access to top officials in the federal government, and brought known Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood leaders into the government and into advisory positions.”
The EU, for its part, seems to regularly condemn those who seek to frustrate Iran’s efforts to execute its own version of the “final solution” upon the Jewish state. Moshen Fakhrizadeh was most certainly one of those whose efforts to nuke Israel has been frustrated by his demise, to the chagrin of the EU officialdom and John Brennan.
Fakhrizadeh was the top Iranian nuclear scientist, and was believed to be responsible for Iran’s covert nuclear program. He was also a senior officer in the IRGC. Iran refused to allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to interview Fakhrizadeh. Fakhrizadeh used his academic role as a lecturer at Imam Hussein University in Tehran, as a cover for his work on a nuclear bomb. In 2008, the George W. Bush administration froze the assets of some Iranian officials, among them was Moshen Fakhrizadeh. At about the same time, the IAEA chief inspector, Olli Heinonen, disclosed that Fakhrizadeh ran Projects 110 and 111, which meant to resolve problems with a design to fit a small nuclear warhead on top of a missile, and to survive the rigors of re-entry into the atmosphere.
Israel had the ability to enter the Iranian nuclear archives in 2018, and carry away a whole warehouse that contained, among other things, documents about Project Amad, which was the Iranian program to build a nuclear weapon. While the Iranians claimed that their nuclear program was for peaceful purposes, Tehran worked feverishly to assemble everything needed to produce atomic weapons. In fact, Iran has been practicing all along the ‘art’ of Taqqiyya and Kitman or dissimulation, on the international community, hiding the truth about weaponizing their alleged “peaceful nuclear program.” Some Iranian officials have conceded that losing Fakhrizadeh has created a significant setback to Iran’s pursuit of their so-called “nuclear science.”
The Obama administration (including John Brennan), and the EU “biggies” - France, Germany and the U.K. (Brexit took the U.K. out of the EU but not out of the JCPOA), facilitated Iran’s path to a nuclear bomb with their 2015 Iran nuclear deal or the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Iran however, in the best tradition of Taqqiyya, cheated all along. It was engaged in building a nuclear bomb before the JCPOA was signed, and while the “deal,” was on. President Trump, pulling out the deal, made little difference in Iran’s quest for the bomb. They are upgrading the centrifuges and increasing the number, over and above the level allowed by the JCPOA agreement. All of it is aimed at producing, in secret, a bomb. Fakhrizadeh led this effort before his demise. The EU is bemoaning his departure…
According to the Indian Express (December 5, 2020), “Fakhrizadeh has been compared by The New York Times to J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist who was the director of the Los Alamos laboratory during the development of the world’s first atomic weapons. According to the BBC, he was a “key player” – something that Israel has alleged in the past – especially since Iran started breaching its nuclear deal commitments.”
While Israel has not claimed responsibility for Fakhrizadeh’s assassination, the Europeans have joined a chorus of anti-Israel voices, calling it a “criminal act,” and inferring an Israeli involvement. The Europeans, knowing full well the danger Fakhrizadeh posed to Israel, and the world, have shown once again their hypocrisy in the words of Israel’s Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen, by “burying their heads in the sand.”
