Channel 12 reports Mossad chief Roman Gofman dismissed two senior officials involved in a plan to bring down Iran's regime that was not implemented.

Mossad Director Roman Gofman has decided to dismiss two senior agency officials due to the failure of the agency's operational plan for regime change in Iran, Channel 12 reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the two were the head of the Mossad's Intelligence Directorate, who took office last December, and the head of the Iran Desk.
According to defense officials quoted in the report, from the moment Gofman took office, there was no chemistry between him and the two officials, but their dismissal is not by chance.
According to the report, the two officials were involved in operational planning to lead to the collapse of the Iranian regime and were among the leaders of the plan. It was also reported that the plan was presented to US President Donald Trump, but in the end, it was not implemented.
Channel 12 reported that although their termination was by mutual consent, the defense establishment also sees the move as an imposition of responsibility on the two for the failure of the plan.
Several weeks ago, reports emerged that the Mossad had armed Kurdish militias with weapons seized during the war from Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The arming of the militias was reportedly part of a broader plan aimed at bringing down the Iranian regime. As part of the assistance, the Kurdish militias received financial support and vehicles, as well as small arms, anti-tank missiles, grenades, and mortar shells.
The CIA was also actively involved in the security plan to arm the Kurds. Despite the cooperation between the intelligence agencies, the joint operation was not fully implemented and was ultimately canceled at the political level in the United States. President Donald Trump was the one who decided to scrap the plan entirely.
Trump’s decision to cancel the operation came following heavy pressure from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish pressure led to the halt of weapons and equipment transfers, forcing the Mossad and CIA to stop implementing the joint operation targeting the regime in Tehran.
