America's president takes on a venomous ideology.

Only a couple of weeks after mandating that critical race theory workshops and trainings be completely excised from the federal government, President Donald Trump used Constitution Day to make his first significant public remarks about this ideology – which, in case you weren’t aware, is responsible for “intersectionality,” the idea that everyone other than white, straight men is somehow oppressed by the evil United States, and…well…most of the chaos we’ve seen this summer.
“This is a Marxist doctrine, holding that America is a wicked and racist nation—that even young children are complicit in oppression—and that our entire society must be radically transformed,” said Trump at the National Archives on Thursday.
Trump pointed to a controversial release from the National Museum of African American History and Culture as a prime example of the sickness rooted in critical race theory. While the museum has since changed the digital pamphlet under pressure from everyone with a beating pulse, the original version explained that traits like individualism, hard work, objectivity, the nuclear family, progress, respect for authority, and delayed gratification were “aspects of whiteness.”
“This is offensive and outrageous to Americans of every ethnicity,” Trump said. “It is especially harmful to children of minority backgrounds who should be uplifted, not disparaged. Teaching this horrible doctrine is a form of child abuse in the truest sense of those words.”
Trump also took aim at The New York Times’s 1619 Project, which is now being framed as a curriculum suitable for public schools. The Project reimagines American history as having begun in 1619, when the first slave ship arrived on the East Coast of the continent. It goes on to teach that American history is one of racial oppression and little more, and it explains that white supremacy is at the bleeding heart of everything that makes this country what it is.
“This project rewrites American history to teach our children that we were founded on the principle of oppression, not freedom,” the president said. “Nothing could be further from the truth. America’s founding set in motion the unstoppable chain of events that abolished slavery, secured civil rights, defeated communism and fascism, and built the most fair, equal, and prosperous nation in human history.”
But if that’s true, what reason would there be to go out there and loot and riot and burn down businesses? If that’s true, how could grifters like Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo make a living? If that’s true, how could the media continue to resurrect racism from the grave at a time where there is less of it in the United States than ever before in history?
Seeing as how this venomous philosophy stands a very good chance of being the thing that utterly rips this country apart, it’s good to see that at least one powerful man is standing up against it.
The grim question is: Will it be enough?
