President Donald Trump's signing of an executive order Monday night to officially create the Department of Government Efficiency almost immediately resulted in several lawsuits.
Among those who have lawsuits is the National Security Counselors, which argues the creation of DOGE, which is a federal advisory committee, violates the Federal Advisory Committee Act.
The act regulates actions of committees and makes sure they are transparent with the public.
A coalition of teachers and public health professionals also on the argument DOGE doesn't comply with the FACA rules.
"The question every American should be asking is 'What are they hiding?'" said Skye Perryman, CEO of Democracy Forward, a legal organization representing the plaintiffs, according to CBS News. "DOGE must not be allowed to operate in the shadows without the transparency, oversight, and opportunity for public participation required of any federal department by the law."
Trump announced the creation of DOGE as a way to get a reduce government spending and over-regulating.
