Israeli warplanes bombed Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip Monday night in response to incendiary balloons launched from the Palestinian enclave that caused brush fires in southern Israel, the military said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties in the airstrikes that according to the IDF targeted a weapons production facility and a rocket launch site belonging to Hamas, the terrorist group that rules Gaza.

In response to Hamas’ renewed attacks today, we struck a weapons manufacturing site, rocket launch site & tunnel entrances in Gaza.
We will continue to respond firmly against all terrorist activities from Gaza.
Cross-border violence has spiked despite an Israeli announcement last week of a resumption of Qatari aid to Gaza, a move that had been seen as bolstering the fragile truce.
Days before Saturday's violence, Gaza fighters launched a rocket towards Israel that was shot down by its Iron Dome anti-missile system in the first such rocket attack since the May 21 ceasefire.
Israeli airstrikes hit four Hamas weapons storage sites in Gaza on Saturday as well, in response to a shooting attack on the border that critically wounded a Border Police officer.
Hamas spokesperson Ismail Radwan said Tuesday that the strikes "will not impede our resolve against the Zionists."
