Israeli motorists once again faced the challenge of dodging potentially lethal mini-missiles on the roads of Judea on Sunday afternoon in a fresh round of road terror, after more than 2,000 such attacks this year alone.

Palestinian Authority Arabs hurled large, irregularly shaped, sharp-edged rocks at vehicles with Israeli license plates traveling along Highway 60 near Hevron.

No one was physically hurt in the attack reported to the police, and the vehicle was not damaged. Nevertheless, the experience is traumatizing, at the least.

Just two days ago, a person was injured Thursday night in a massive rock attack on vehicles with Israeli license plates traveling along the northern section of Highway 60.

The attack took place in the Binyamin region, between the Jewish community of Ofra and Wadi Charmiya, according to the Tatzpit news agency. The victim was treated at the scene before being evacuated to the hospital.

A number of vehicles suffered serious damage in the barrage of attacks. IDF troops fanned out to search for the perpetrators.

According to IDF sources, more than 2,000 such attacks have been recorded since the start of this year. Rock attacks aimed at motorists and even residents in Jewish communities are a form of terrorism.

On the roads of Israel, such attacks are now becoming known as “road terror.” They are intended to seriously maim, and to kill – and sometimes they succeed.
