The horrific spectacle
of indictments pinned to blood-stained Gaza walls revealed a fraction of
the drama surrounding the execution of some 20 suspected Israeli
informants. The charge: "Transferring information to the enemy about the
whereabouts of fighters, tunnels, places rigged with explosives, homes
of jihadist fighters and places where missiles were stored … signed: The
Palestinian resistance." While senior Hamas officials refuse to admit
their failures and continue "to exhaust Israel," the letters of
indictment instead tell the story of Gaza's demise.
Guards at Ketziot
Prison have given accounts of Palestinian prisoners who, after
scratching their heads while an Israeli soldier randomly passed by their
cells, have been killed by their prison mates for treason. Young Arab
women have been murdered by their brothers for dishonoring their family,
merely for being suspected of mumbling a few words to a passing man. In
a society rife with conspiracy, subsisting in an environment of
demoralization and suspicion, everyone is a traitor but also a potential
victim.
The West has had many
opportunities to understand that Hamas and ISIS are one and the same, but
instead buried their heads in the sand. The religious ideology and
incendiary rhetoric encouraging killing in the name of Allah and his
prophet are evident on every flag and masked executioner. The cars laden
with explosives, the mass murders, the attacks on places of worship,
restaurants, hotels and other areas where people gather, currently
synonymous with ISIS, are methods we saw Hamas using for years.
The international
community now understands that Hamas is a deadly mutation of the same
Islamic ideology from the school of the Muslim Brotherhood, just like
ISIS. This realization formed when the Yazidis and Christians were
killed wholesale in Iraq, and only crystallized when the hooded Hamas
hangmen brutally murdered those suspected of collaborating with Israel.
It was the fact that
these executions occurred at virtually the same time and where
horrifyingly similar to the beheading of American journalist James Foley
that drove home the blood-chilling similarity, not the campaign of
terror Hamas has waged against Israel for years. The illusion of a
"political Islam," whereby "Islam is a religion of peace," is slowly
unraveling. Everyone understands that the religious messages ("dawa" in
Arabic) eschewed by the leaders of the "Muslim Brotherhood" -- to
destroy the infidel and impose Islam on the world -- serve as the
doctrinal foundation molding the operational path for Islamic terror
movements around the world.
Hamas, meanwhile,
emphasizes it is part of the Muslim Brotherhood movement and global
jihad, and that the Jews and Christians are the enemies of Islam,
against which they are waging an imperialistic crusade of infidels.
According to its charter, Hamas is part of the "Islamic Brigades" that
will facilitate the creation of an eternal Islamic state and destroy
every last Jew as required by the Prophet Muhammad's vision. These
"political" messages are a guide for murdering "infidels," among them
the Jews, Christians, Yazidis, Shiites, and others like them. While
Hamas refuses to relinquish its weapons for destroying the Jewish
people, its senior leadership has vowed that it "will try in the future
and will warn" Israelis before shooting at them.
Hamas now hopes its
detested rival, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, will
extricate it from the flames of the Israeli cauldron threatening to
engulf it. In this regard, the "treasonous president" is supposed to sue
Israel at the International Criminal Court at The Hague and try to
persuade the world and Egypt, which is also its enemy, to impose a
lasting cease-fire.
We essentially have a Hamas that
wants to commit genocide against the Jews, wants the crusading West of
"infidels" to try the Jews for genocide at The Hague, and in its own
twisted way is also projecting signs of surrender. As evidenced by the
absurd comments, the masked men hiding in dark tunnels are struggling to
see their own defeat, which we should continue to help them see.
