While the United States tries to convince the world that the nuclear deal with Iran was a good move, reports have surfaced that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently published a book titled "Palestine," which details an extensive plan to destroy Israel.
The 416-page book, currently distributed exclusively in Iran, calls for the rise of "the hegemony of Iran" in the Middle East to replace "the West's hegemony," according to a report in the New York Post.
The report, written by Iranian expatriate Amir Taheri, details the various descriptions of Israel used in the book, including "a cancerous tumor," an "enemy" and a "foe."
On the back of the book, Khamenei is referred to as "the flag-bearer of jihad to liberate Jerusalem."
According to Taheri, the book was sent to him by a friend in Iran. The report indicates that Khamenei's efforts to destroy Israel are not based on anti-Semitism, which Iran's leading cleric calls a European phenomenon. Rather, his position toward Israel comes from "well-established Islamic principles."
According to Khamenei, Israel does not have a right to exist and is a unique case from other countries for three reasons. The first is its loyalty to "the American Great Satan"; the second is that Israel has waged war against Muslims; and the third is that it controls "Islam's third holy city," Jerusalem.
The report says that Khamenei speaks of the Holocaust in his book, calling it a "propaganda ploy," and writing that "if there was such a thing, we don't know why it happened and how."
Khamenei advocates long-term, low-intensity warfare to wear down Israeli Jews and make them leave the country, based on the assumption that those with dual citizenship would prefer to move abroad. His plan, according to the report, is to set up "Hezbollah-style" cells in the West Bank.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Khodakarami, the director of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, said on Sunday that Iran plans to buy as many as 90 planes each year from Boeing and Airbus to revamp its fleet once sanctions are lifted.
