Corbyn shows how quickly an entire country can turn against the Jews - again.
It’s not Jeremy Corbyn alone who worries us so much – Jews everywhere – it’s what he represents.
Around here, in the United States, we do not have Jeremy Corbyn. But we do have Bernie Sanders. That’s a separate problem. Canada has Trudeau.
Corbyn represents all of Europe and – this is the point! -- how quickly, seemingly overnight, an entire continent can turn against the Jews.
All it takes is one man, a leader…or just a follower who points a finger at a particular house. Snap, and a population of well-behaved burghers become a mob.
Even the BBC took notice and introduced us to a couple – one of many? -- who are preparing to leave the UK for Israel because they are Jewish and feel threatened.
They feel it not only from Labour, but from neighbors on all sides – regardless of party affiliation.
Anti-Semitism makes no political distinctions, as Herzl found out when he saw how the Dreyfus Affair triggered waves of anti-Semitism in France and throughout Europe.
That’s when he realized that no amount of “enlightenment” can serve as a cure, and when Jabotinsky urged the Jews to “vacate Europe before Europe vacates you.”
That was then…and perhaps this time, Jews are ready to take heed. Perhaps not.
Yet can it be that one million British Jews can be such a bother to the rest of the population – 65 million?
Surely not all think alike, or think like Jeremy Corbyn, who leads the powerful Labour Party with an equally powerful stench of anti-Semitism.
Corbyn keeps denying, but he keeps getting caught, and the latest scandal finds him honoring the Islamic terrorists who perpetrated the 1972 Munich Olympics Massacre.
That, from the man who would-be prime minister.
No wonder Jews are worried, and from one Jewish leader, Jonathan Goldstein, it is more than worry, it is alarm. He says, “It has never occurred in our lifetimes that the Jewish community] … we are nervous about this man becoming prime minister. We see the possibility of a Labour government led by this group as an existential threat to our community. These are unprecedented times.”
Unprecedented, or more likely typical British understatement. For “in our lifetimes” also encompasses the Holocaust.
For that generation, it was perhaps also unprecedented as it was for previous generations – but it keeps on happening.
Happening to this day—throughout Europe – through Jew hatred milked from mother’s breast, to something more topical, which we expose in this bestselling thriller.
That book, “The Bathsheba Deadline,” along with Michel Houellebecq’s “Submission” are works of precognition. Each saw it coming.
That would be the influx of Muslims who arrive without women and with their own brand of anti-Semitism ready-made. They do not need to be persuaded.
Here in the United States, the Democrats likewise need no persuasion. Only 30 percent of them support Israel.
In France (my family background) it did not take much to change everything. Vichy came along and on that day my sister’s best friend refused to play with her.
She called Sarah “a dirty Jew.”
It can happen that fast.
