Police set up checkpoints to prevent Nachala movement's initiative to build 6 new Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Thousands of people participated on Wednesday night in the "Nachala" movement's initiative to establish six new communities in Judea and Samaria and are facing attempts by the police to prevent the move.
The movement said that two communities have been set up in the Kiryat Arba area, two in the Binyamin region (in the Psagot area and in the Gush Talmonim area), one community near Revava in Samaria and one near Bruchin.
About two hours after the start of the operation, the IDF declared a closed military zone near the new communities, and Border Police forces began attempts to evacuate the activists.
So far, five people have been arrested at the various points in Binyamin during clashes with the police and the evacuation continues into the night.
The police have set up many roadblocks on the access roads to these areas and are inspecting vehicles. Police are not allowing those who do not live in nearby localities to pass and are instructing them to stay away from the place.
The Binyamin Council issued a statement stating, "During these hours, police officers are acting illegally, preventing the passage of innocent civilians traveling on their daily business."
"Council Chairman Israel Gantz is on the ground. A few minutes ago, he urgently addressed the Attorney General demanding that the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Internal Security refrain from these actions. He stated that if he did not respond, he would petition the Supreme Court against criminal activity carried out by the forces," the statement added.
Earlier, dozens of religious Zionism rabbis published a letter calling on the public to join the operation to establish new settlements led by the Nachala movement.
The letter was signed by, among others, Rabbi Chaim Druckman, Rabbi Dov Lior, Rabbi Elyakim Levanon, Rabbi Aryeh Stern, Rabbi Tisrael Ariel, Rabbi David Chai HaCohen, Rabbi Yitzchak Ben Shachar, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi Yehoshua Shapira and Rabbi Menachem Burstein, along with dozens of heads Yeshivas and municipal rabbis and cities from all over the country.
"It is time for the Israeli government to return to establishing new settlements in Judea and Samaria," the rabbis wrote. "We were happy to hear about the important initiative to go up on the 21st of Tammuz to a number of points as part of the call for the establishment of new settlements throughout Judea and Samaria."
"For more than 20 years, the Israeli government has not been building new settlements in Judea and Samaria," they wrote. "The government is freezing Jewish settlement, and letting the Arabs take over the territories of Judea and Samaria. It is time to say in a clear voice: all of the land of Israel is ours."
The rabbis added: "We will make an effort to stand at one of the points designated for the establishment of a settlement, and we call on the public to join us in the field and call on the government to return to the original Zionist path and establish new settlements."
The rabbis called in a letter to Knesset members and elected officials "to respond to the call of the Nachala movement and the entire public that is actually waking up these days with great force and a great call to establish new settlements throughout our country, especially in Judea and Samaria."
