Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Jewish state recovered the body of Sgt. First Class Yehuda Yekutiel Katz, of was killed in June 1982 in the First Lebanon War at Sultan Yacoub.
The prime minister said, in Hebrew, that the Jewish state liberated two others who were killed in the battle, one about seven years ago and the other in May 2025, and buried them in Israel.
“Not for a moment did we cease the work to return Sgt. First Class Yehuda Katz, of blessed memory, who was missing from the same battle,” Netanyahu stated.
“Throughout the years, I authorized numerous covert operations to locate the missing of Sultan Yacoub,” he stated. “I promised their families that we would never cease working to return them home.
