Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised on Sunday after winning the parliamentary elections in the country that he would formulate a new constitution in Turkey.
“The citizens sent us a message that we must build a new constitution through negotiation and consensus,” said Erdogan in a victory speech from the balcony of the ruling party in Ankara, adding: “The new constitution will be discussed with our opponents.”
A count of 99 percent of the votes indicates that Erdogan’s ruling party has won 50 percent of the votes, which amounts to 326 seats in parliament.
