Multiple lanes on the Memphis-Arkansas I-40 bridge have reportedly just been re-opened after being blocked most of the day on Saturday by anti-Israel protesters.

The protest was organized by Memphis Voices for Palestine "in light of the recent ruling by the International Criminal Court," that stated "plausible evidence of genocide happening in Gaza by the Israeli military," according to local media.

Cameras operated by the Tennessee Department of Transportation showed traffic halted with a large crowd in front.

"They do not want their tax dollars being used to kill Palestinian men, women and children," one protester told Local Memphis in the morning as the protest started. "We are organizing this rally to bring together all those who believe in justice and humanity."

Since the Israel-Hamas war broke out in October, when Hamas brutally attacked inside of Israel, killing about 1,200 people and taking about 240 more hostage, there have been multiple pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli rallies across the U.S., some of which have involved blocking highways and disrupting events.

KWAM News Radio journalist Ben Deeter reported that the protesters in Tennessee had completely shut down traffic coming in and out of Memphis.
