The AP begins revising history to attack Trump - Carol Brown

Facts don't matter when there's a chance that you can get Trump.

The media are not only rude and confrontational at press briefings, but they’re also re-writing history about how and when information on the virus came to light.

Facts don’t matter. There is only one goal: Get Trump.

Toward that end, manipulating timelines has become quite popular as evidenced most recently in this AP report:

As the first alarms sounded in early January that an outbreak of a novel coronavirus in China might ignite a global pandemic, the Trump administration squandered nearly two months that could have been used to bolster the federal stockpile of critically needed medical supplies and equipment.

Well that’s an interesting tale. Here are a few pesky details that were overlooked:
On January 14^th, the corrupt World Health Organization (WHO) claimed there was no human to human transmission of the coronavirus.

So much for alarms going off in early January. If you gave WHO’s message credence (and therein lies the truly big mistake), it seemed that as long as you didn’t eat bats you would be fine.

A week later, WHO said there may be sustained human to human transmission. Despite this suspicion, a couple of days later, the organization refrained from declaring the virus an international emergency.

Meanwhile, at the end of the month, on January 26^th, Dr. Fauci said the risk to Americans was low, that there was nothing to be worried or frightened about, and that we were prepared. 

Again: So much for early January alarms.

On January 31^st, despite WHO’s position and Fauci’s proclamations, President Trump ordered travel restrictions from China – a decision that caused outrage on the left. 

Fast forward a couple of weeks to mid-February, and, in contradiction to social distancing recommendations, Fauci said there was no need to avoid going to Chinese restaurants. During the latter half of the month, Pelosi and de Blasio did their own virtue signaling by going to the Chinatowns in their respective cities to eat, walk around in large crowds, and shake hands, while urging others to do the same.

All the while, nothing stopped impeachment from rolling along despite this supposed early January warning sign of a global pandemic on the horizon.

Around this same time the CDC was unable to produce a test for the virus that Fauci promised. By mid-March he chalked the failure up to a “technical glitch” and a series of things that just “went the wrong way.” He was quick to say it was nobody’s fault, including the president. Well of course that wouldn’t have been the president’s fault, but it was rather convenient that Fauci was absolved himself and the CDC of any responsibility at the same time.

Ultimately, Fauci admitted that the system wasn’t set up for such massive testing and that it was best sourced to the private sector. But critical weeks were lost due to glitches, problems, and the ultimate realization that the current system was not set up to handle this scale of testing. The latter point is key because if, early on, Fauci saw something truly enormous headed our way, our system’s inability to handle this level of testing should have been obvious from the get-go. But it was only after many weeks passed that this seems to have become evident to him.

Hmm.

In addition to these timeline corrections, the New York Post reports that China blocked US medical supply manufacturers from exporting their goods while simultaneously scarfing up additional supplies from around the world for the epidemic that was unfolding in the communist country, leaving the cupboards bare elsewhere. Their actions may well have been illegal. Surely, they were evil.

Steven Bannon, a former White House chief strategist under President Trump and the host of the podcast ‘War Room: Pandemic,’ said the behavior of the Chinese government was equivalent to a “biological Chernobyl.”

So, to the AP’s claim that a looming global pandemic was apparent in early January and Trump didn’t stock up on necessary supplies, I would say, no, Trump (and other world leaders) did not have evidence we were on the verge of such a thing at that point in time and China was starving the world of what would soon become desperately needed medical supplies. 

China lied, caused a global pandemic, and created circumstances in country after country that would make it more difficult to control due to lack of medical supplies. 

WHO lied. 

And our own experts seem to have been blindsided. 

Along the way, time was squandered by the CDC, not the president.

We must break our dependence on China as fast as humanly possible. And they must pay a heavy price for what they have done. Meanwhile, if the media could report the truth it would make life a bit easier. Alas, this seems out of reach.

God bless President Trump and Vice President Pence. May they be well, be strong, and be re-elected in November.
