House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer on Wednesday announced that he would soon invite President Joe Biden to appear before the House Oversight Committee and testify as part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry into him.
"In the coming days, I will invite President Joe Biden to the House Oversight Committee to provide his own testimony and explain why his family received tens of millions of dollars from foreign companies with his assistance," Comer posted on X.
His announcement came the same day that the panel held a public hearing with former Hunter Biden business associates Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis.
The White House has urged the House to end the inquiry, with spokesman Ian Sams on Wednesday condemning the hearing as a "waste of time."
"That hearing was embarrassing for House Republicans. A total waste of time. It’s time to move on from this sad charade. There are real issues the American people want us to address," he said.
