House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith said that the new documents help prove that Hunter Biden lied to Congress about his role and influence on the board of the Ukrainian company, including on his ability to secure visas.

A pair of key Republican lawmakers on Monday implied that new evidence obtained by Just the News helps strengthen the case that first son Hunter Biden lied to Congress when testifying on the Biden family's foreign business dealings.

The documents, previously reported by Just The News, appear to show how Biden helped a United States law firm secure a lucrative retainer with Burisma Holdings in 2014. Its lawyers proceeded to draft a 58-page plan to try to extricate the controversial energy company from an ongoing criminal investigation in Ukraine that relied heavily on trying to influence then-Vice President Joe Biden's administration in Washington.

House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith said that the new documents help prove that Hunter Biden lied to Congress about his role and influence on the board of the Ukrainian company, including on his ability to secure visas.

"We've been asking for a long time, why is it that Hunter Biden got on the board, was paid millions of dollars for a company that he had no experience in, or expertise?" Smith said on "Just The News, No Noise." "One of the lies that we pointed out of the three, in fact dealt with the CEO of Burisma. Hunter Biden told Congress that he has never worked with any visas, or trying to help anyone with any visas with his father, or the administration.

"In fact, we have documentation showing that Hunter Biden can take care of the CO of Burisma's visas, just send him the documentations," Smith said.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan pointed to existing evidence of former State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland and the European Union praising the prosecutor investigating Burisma. But the prosecutor was later fired, allegedly after a meeting with Joe Biden.

"When Zlochevsky meets with Hunter Biden and says, 'We need help. We need you to weigh in with D.C. to relieve the pressure we are under,'" Jordan said on "John Solomon Reports." "Well, Shazam, four days later, Joe Biden goes to Ukraine and says 'You ain't getting the money Ukraine, unless you fire the prosecutor who's applying the pressure.'"

"So that all happens. And yet, people say, 'Oh, no, no, no, that had nothing [to do with that]' Those are facts that we know," he continued. "So yeah, this is serious, serious stuff."
